I still can't believe that after a year or so of everyone assuming the Amazon truck Optimus had been cancelled, it just shows up out of nowhere in a Christmas deco. Never would've expected it. I'm not the biggest fan of the Christmas deco, but if they repaint this I think I'll have to pick it up. The shoulder-wheels are VERY The War Within, I dig it.

Overall it looks like a really nice figure. He's a proper good figure. The legs do so much in ways I didn't expect. Confused me a little first time I was transforming it. Ends up so clean in bot mode. You can tab the flap that goes over his head into the back of the head in truck mode to hold it all in place. Although the wheel arch bits will still move about a bit.
I will say that I wish they somehow had the backs of the legs collapsed in a bit more, maybe using that to fill in the insides of the legs instead, but really this thing is a fantastic Prime mold. The only thing keeping me from buying it is I don't like the colors, but if they release this in any other cohesive color combination then it's an instant buy from me.
well i wanted this for christmas....... i didnt get it.but i got the universe 2000 rid scourge which is shown in this vid but i still cant find this on amazon to also that headmode just looks so remenisent of the optimus from the transformers seige show head
I'm going to defend the legs because this transformer returns to the old pattern where it looks like they transform. Vehicle bits that give you a tell they aren't taking alien forms anymore.
I think the funniest ideas I can think of to improve this lad are to either a) Give him a tiny version of his packaging to hold as a reference to Amazonus Prime Or b) Paint his feet to be stockings. Would it be ugly? Yes. Would it be funny? *yes.*
This was a surprising figure, I initially thought that this would just be a Christmas themed cash grab but turned out to be great. I’m glad I picked this up and hope that it gets repainted into a future Legacy toy, most likely! Happy new year everyone!

Suddenly this became one of the top primes ever and it's just a holiday special toy! This is amazing! Also, it's an incredible treat for the painters and modders cause I know damn well someone is gonna modify this with the proper prime paint and make a hyper realistic Volvo Optimus with trailer. My Holiday Optimus Prime came with 2 left arms out of the box, making it impossible for him to lay flat in vehicle mode 🥲💔 Also his green windows were scratched to hell. Hasbro Customer Support was great and I’m getting sent a new one! I guess that means it’s time for me to paint one of these trailers for my Shattered Glass Optimus 👀
If you want that beast hunters Optimus, ask an argentine for help, there's overstock of prime figures for some reason (I bought beast hunters soundwave in mint condition the past week for like 20 bucks) so there's a chance the Optimus you are looking for is covered in dust at some store in Argentina

The legs turned me off at first so I didn't pre-order it, and by the time I came around all the pre-orders around me had sold out. Sadness. Hopefully my local store will have some extra stock and I can get it there.
I get why you would want the small leader box, but if every leader had it, I feel like it would be a tough sell in stores since it’s $55 US for a small box. But all around, I liked the video a lot as usual!
I think the "problems" (being very, very subjective here) is that there entirely too much black in the figure. Some of it could've been painted in red like say, Optimus' sides in robot mode. The leg portion could've been compacted down more (the flaps flipping down and the top of the truck being able to be pushed down into the lower half, giving the legs that box look that goes with Prime's anatomy). Not really a fan of the wheel backpack, but it's way better than whatever the hell is going on with Skurge/Lazer Optimus' shoulders. I would've liked the design to pull away from the fo window chest plate, just have a red chassis with big ol' white Autobot symbol slathered in the middle. But again, this is all very very nitpicky. This is one hell of a redesign for Optimus and a pleasant surprise as an end of the year gift
I am excited to get this figure if it comes in another deco, like combat hero, or even an amazon variant (exclusively because i want to see the trans green to become trans orange). I could also see this being repurposed as prime universe optimus later down the line, mostly due to how the vehicle mode looks
I'm really hoping they release this mold with a different deco at some point. I haven't seen this thing anywhere in Perth yet and I'm not a fan of the colours or deco at all, but the engineering is fire and I wanna mess with it. Just sucks that because of the nature of how this thing came about I have no idea if there's any chance of it being released any other way

There needed to be a hinge just beneath the windshield to allow the upper section to collapse into the leg.

The snow bits could be immitating painted on snow details and not "real" snow.

His chest is real. It’s just the windows form the back window, and the vents form the back vents. They do make actual truck bits
