These are always tough interviews when your team underperforms.

Brands gives the same repetitive bland passive-aggressive non-answers no matter win or lose. Thats just him.
"Heres the thing.....We got work to do, we got to get better, next thing up" has been and will always be the only thing he says every time, past, present and future. Go back and listen to some of his interviews. Its nearly the same thing in all cases. Hes always angry, passive-aggressive towards the journalists for asking any question and never says much of anything worth hearing. The guy shouldnt even give these press briefs anymore because hes terrible at them.

This is why I think Bo Basset made a mistake going to Iowa. Iowa just has a hard time pulling it together. Or, should I say, the Brands Bros have a hard time pulling it together.

For real. I get sick of his responses always just being “we gotta score more points!!!”. Okay…..that’s as helpful as the youth wrestlers parents in the stands saying “just stand up”.

Bassett's going be fine wherever he decided to go. Kid is self-driven and could beat a lot of current college kids right now.

@ maybe that’s not the point. Will he get to where he can beat this new crop of Japanese while training at Iowa? Spencer Lee didn’t…

Hard to say, I’ve always been an Iowa fan but it does seem that they’re missing a certain spark that OK state and Penn State exemplify. Not sure if it’s discipline, fortitude, toughness, conditioning or whatever but they just seem to struggle with unit cohesion.

Why isnt 174lb nelson brands wrestling? Why isnt 157lb Jacori Teemer wrestling? This dual would not have been close if the full lineup was on deck and ready to go.

This guy is the most overrated coach in college sports.
There must be money going to Iowa for wrestling because if you’re a wrestler, want to develop into the next level, you don’t go to Iowa
