They are falling over each other to say how Purdue is the # 1 Seed? UConn is ranked #1 in the country. Purdue tanked in the tournament last year. UConn is defending champion. UConn will use this as motivation!
They did this right before the game happened so nobody knew Purdue was gonna lose and that uconn was gonna slaughter Marquette. Before those games, I think Purdue was probably the better team to have as the top, but today it’s definitely UConn now
branding travel AND COMPETETIVE balance basically for the last certain regions don't have the ability for higher seed to go to certain host only at lower seed basically they slotted alabama to play there so they will play in mephis or charlotte indy or pitt and IA state and baylor in there so they play at INDY memphis, Omaha or Salt lake city in the first 2 rounds but because of that they'll have to travel if they make that far to detriot or boston later on
Bama is leading sec at the moment and bama does have lot of talent .. also you want Baylor or Iowa state in same bracket as Houston . That at times play into seedings at times
Alabama should be ahead of Baylor. Alabama is dominating the 2nd best conference in basketball and have better wins. Iowa State should be ahead of Alabama though.
Your comment is on point. Unfortunately, the committee is comprised of rickety old man. I will give them a pass on the eye test. Don’t give UCONN any motivation.
I am in Purdue’s corner. But they didn’t look good today against a poor team. My guess Purdue’s coaches and players will have have a ton of pressure playing every game in the NCAA Tournament.
They do this every year for the past few years now. They preview it specifically because it can change. A good chunk of seed lines stay the same though
Seth, you got one detail wrong about Love and Johnson. Yes, they played in the final 4 and transferred to Arizona. However, they both played in the national championship game, which should be mentioned. Even though North Carolina and San Diego State lost in their respective years for the National Championship, its still better than losing in the final 4.
How is a team that choked in round one last year (Purdue) and has only advanced to the elite 8 once under the current coach's tenure and also never won the tournament ranked higher than UCONN? They are the reigning champions with a winning pedigree and are arguably better than they were last year.
Shocked that the house dookie seth davis wasn't pimping dook to be a one seed lol...whomever plays in the east against Uconn is gonna get smoked. The beating they put on Marquette was very impressive.
This is complete and utter speculation. Talk to any of the coaches of the teams on the top four seeds and they will tell you they don’t lend any credence to the seeding at this point, they are concentrating on the remaining games left. “ A long way to go”.
All this conversation about seeds is silly. It really doesn't matter. Uconn dominated the tournament as a 4 seed last year, and then everyone thought they were unbeatable this year until they got crushed by Creighton. The bottom line is you have to bring your best every night regardless of seed to win the tournament.
I don’t get the fixation with Alabama. . . . And even Wisconsin. I think too much weighed is placed on SOS. What difference does it make if you play a tough schedule if you LOSE most of those tough games?!? They beat Auburn and Mississippi St, but who else has Bama beaten?
How the heck is San Diego State above us? This is why the seeding thing is so overrated. So SDSU is a 4. The 5 that gets them have an absolute dandy of a draw but none of 4s won't even have anything near as good as playing SDSU in the second round with a chance to go to the S16. We were a 4 in Kofi's final year and get Houston in the 4-5. The other 5s that year: Iowa (lost in round 1), UConn (lost in round 1), and St. Mary's who we would have ran out the gym had we got them. And then there was Houston. We could've been a 5 seed maybe even a 6 seed and played the 3 and had a better draw than Houston in the second round.
Uconnis elite 8 but no better . Houston been consistent all season .good team . Purdue is going to do what Virginia did a few years ago worst to first . Arizona is good all season .waych out for Kentucky they have more talent than anyone .but defense , not so good . south Carolina is my dark horse in the big dance
This tournament going to be crazy just like last year. UConn is peaking too soon, Purdue can’t play in the tournament, Houston can’t score enough to not get upset. This one is going to be wide open imo.
Uh no. They were 2-6 in January last year. Got it going at the end though and were absolutely the best team in the tournament. It’s tough to sustain their current level of play all the way until April.
@@mbdg6810 really? I'll look it up... I do remember 85 all 4 teams were BIG EAST teams. BUT REALLY, it's gotta be so rare that there wouldn't be an upset of a top ranked team especially since the field was expanded. Thanks man.
That Wisconsin one sure aged well

Like they need extra incentive. These people are idiots. Uconn is on another level compared to literally everyone else.
UCONN Nation is not concerned about Purdue or any other team. We are the Truth!
UCONN demolished #4 Marquette. Purdue lost to a bad OSU team.
UConn gettin slept on once again. 30 piece on Marquette yesterday. Would smash Purdue
Agree. Uconn wins 9 out of 10 games they play.
I think they are still debating UConn is a true blue blood... 😂 5 titles in 25 years
San Diego st. is going to make another run
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas! 'if you don't want to play defense, don't come to San Diego State' ;-)
Now please explain your pick of Purdue as the # 1 overall seed especially after just losing to Ohio State a 14-11 team? Anyone?
They did this right before the game happened so nobody knew Purdue was gonna lose and that uconn was gonna slaughter Marquette. Before those games, I think Purdue was probably the better team to have as the top, but today it’s definitely UConn now
This aged well.. purdue being number 1 overall 😂
Can someone Explain why Alabama is ahead of Baylor and Iowa state…. They play in a worse conference with a worse record and a less talented roster?

Big 12 gamed the system, they're better because they're better at gaming the metrics system. Committee knows i guess.
@@RamblingRob-vi7ct Iowa state is leading the big 12. Big difference

Unfortunately for Marquette UConn showed us all exactly what they think about being seeded #2…would love to see the two meet and settle it.
Crazy they called them #2 overall before the game. The uconn wiped the floor by 30.. against the #4 team
Hahahahahah this comment aged very well Purdue lost to unranked
Plus Purdue just got beat by Ohio State
What a great team they are and wow they really deserve the #1 seed -in their dreams !

Ha. Purdue just jacked themselves up again. Thanks Matty.
It is way too early for this. So much can and will change over the final 4 weeks of the season.

Uconn would destroy Purdue.

I'm guessing the committee doesn't factor those things into the discussion.
They're having something like this - now?! It's not even March yet. All-Star Weekend, too? Oh, who am I kidding - still a slow week. 😂
They’ve been having preview a month before selection Sunday for a few years now

Here after OSU beat Purdue 😭
Houston is going to make the big 12 3 of the last 4 champs. Bank it

Here is the bottom line, who has the most teams in the sweet 16? That would be Raleigh-Durham, hands down. Call it a Triangle Trifecta.
Hopefully Nebraska makes it
How is Baylor over Duke?
Big 12 has better conference opponents for resumé
Let's go duke
No love for Illinois?
I know
Big Z can drop much more than maple leaves.
Hah! Overrated Purdue got beat by a bad Ohio State Team. UCONN is by far better.
Tennessee over Houston!!! Who has Houston played ?

Wisconsin will go in as a 7-8
Auburn a 4 seed is criminal
I think it's about right.
you’re where you should be lol

Purdue is (ironic drum roll please 🥁) overrated. Even Marquette has a better record and it barely gets out of the sweet 16 most times.

How much do these "experts" know, well when was the last time the top 4 teams all made the final 4? NEVER?
