I traded in my 2017 GX460 for it.. In the US, which i got the limited hybrid awd, which is basically the trim you have in the video. Only i have a black exterior and brown interior. It's a love hate relationship. On the good, i love how it drives, It's quiet, comfortable, and while other reviewers also comment about it's lack of power, it's a 3 row SUV, not a Porsche.. So to me i think it's fast.. But then the GX was a pig. So in comparison it is a Porsche.. 😂 There are however some major drawbacks. One is that it does have a traditional automatic, and that i actually like, but it doesn't have a traditional torque converter. So while it's mostly normal feeling, on hills it does tend to roll back a little on pedal transition, like a bad manual transmission driver. You can't use the brake and gas to hold it to better transition. You can use autohold, but then you don't get a creep mode at all. The entire safety system is really bad.. It's bad for even drivers that suck, the traffic blind spot warning is so delayed i can be in another timezone and it still thinks a car is there, the parking sensors think the santafe is 3ft wider than it is. Tge forward collision warning can't see around you, or your turn signals. The lack of traditional cruise control is stupid, there's no intermittent wipers, and that stupid sensor gets blinded by the open sunroof so you get to hear it constantly warn it can't see you face on sunny days.. I also have the issue where the speedometer is blocked by my hands on the wheel, and if you change where the wheel sits, you get a constant buzzer ding about the sensor not seeing your face. Then there's bluelink which reports all driving data to lexisnexis who is the leading provider of insurance quote data in the US.. so the vehicle constantly through the app reports your driving data. You can opt out of personal data collection, but not data collection.. so rather than reporting your name it just submits the vin, which combined with public dmv records means it still reports to your insurance.. I ended up clipping the modem wires from the top fin to cancel that "free" service. All that said, i concur, i have been seeing around 46mpg city and 36mpg highway.. The regen paddles are a bit pointless in my opinion, i tend to get much better mpg driving it somewhat enthusiastically over being soft and using that feature.. It's also really annoying you can't change the regenerative level with your foot on the brake. Throwing it into sport mode and using the paddle shifts for actual spirited driving can be fun, motor makes a decent note, and you can stress all four tires on hard corners and even feel a bit of a squeal at each tire when pushed hard. The headlights at night suck, but i assume that's all new cars with those LED lights.. They blind oncoming traffic and aren't well focused.. Imo this is the closest i had found to the modern grand marquis in softness and quiet ride.. But it does have gommicky god awful technology in it.. to the point where they screwed up even common features.. 😂
Glad to hear it's working out well for you! Bringing the Grand Marquis into the mix is bold though haha! I don't think anything can truly live up to the Panther platform overall.
@@andrespgzz In the summer, yes it's true, in the winter i am averaging 39.6 which, i only have 4100 miles on mine. That's mostly city driving. In the summer, i have had weeks where i got nearly 50mpg average, but with mixed driving 46mpg was the best i could do.. That's really a mixture of hypermiling and just throwing all care to the wind, hitting sport mode and living at redline. If I hyper mile all week, and drive like i hate life, i could get 70mpg. But, you gotta really hate life.. All that said, i run premium fuel, tire pressure is 1lb over the recommended spec, i run 0w30 vs the 0w20 and run a wix hybrid ceramic filter, also the suv is clean with a ceramic coating on it, so it is slick as ice.. Not that any of that matters, but i'd rather give all the details for the sake of science.
I am torn between the Preferred Trend and Luxury. I love the features of the Luxury, but the mileage on the hybrid is fantastic. Is the trade up in comfort features worth the cost and decreased fuel efficiency?
@ thanks! You found the power to be adequate? We drive out from Calgary to the coast once or twice each year and want to make sure it can handle the mountains. Keep up the great reviews.

46mpg, is that true? I saw they claim about 34mpg for an AWD trim, but 46 sounds crazy high.

@rustbeltrobclassic2512 I'm very confused with those numbers. 50mpg fuel efficiency and 70mpg sound unreal under any circunstance to me
@ If I had a way to post screenshots or pictures of my drive data i would.

Personally I'd go for the hybrid and save on fuel.
