I love that he doesn't make it complicated. I pick a gun and a wallet and I do things. It doesn't have to be difficult.
I have my sidearm, a handheld flashlight (that is used more for crap that I drop) and a boxcutter to cut a seatbelt should it become stuck.

@@mattr918 for sure. i got no problem with them but it's clear how much work sig has been putting in by sponsoring and doing handouts for social media folks. and seals seem to just love the spotlight.

Bedrock sandals are the answer to the flip flop dilemma. I've ran a mile in them multiple times and hiked many trails. Even played tennis in them a few times. They're not sneakers but for someone who'd rather wear flip flops in warm weather it's perfect. Made in USA too.

100% agree with the Bedrock Sandals recommendation. I’ve hiked, biked, and swam in them and they have done a great job. The ones with the thicker Vibram soles are a good starting place.
I use them for fording creeks when hiking. We have really sharp volcanic rock in my neck of the woods.
I just looked them up, and sure enough... They look alot like Teva's.
@@HeatGeek1 yes, except they are more secure to the foot, made in the USA, and are fully repairable if you ever need a new strap or sole down the line.

A pocket knife is a must.
Headlamps are the shit… not in my EDC per se. But multiple at home, in my car, and my work bag.

Edc is dependent upon how serious one is about defending one's self. Personally, I always carry what I can effectively deploy. Combined with situational awareness, I'm good to go.
This makes me feel better about my personal aversion to flip flips as everyday wear when out in public. With a knee that has been operated on 3 times in the past 7 years I'm klutzy enough as it is so I'm fairly certain a (s)tumble would be in the cards for me if I were forced to run.

people wear them shits way too much and in too many places and with too many outfits. i can't stand flop flops. haven't worn them in 10+ years. If I want to wear sandals, I'll wear birks, but like the video, i don't wear anything outside the house that I can't imagine myself sprinting or getting stuck out for the night in.
My recent EDC is a surplus S&W 5906 I recently picked up. Love the way heavy steel pistol feels.
Thats why i carry my 1911 more than anything, it feels good to me and its the gun i shoot the best

My EDC is more in depth than most,but I’m a combat veteran and an LEO now so what I consider the minimum is more than most will be able to live with.Glock 19,2 spare reloads,Surefire E2Delta,Mick Strider custom Tanto blade,a blowout kit w/Cat tourniquet,and a zippo in case I need to make a fire.If I’m in the woods,a compass is always with me.
i like it. got into it with my buddy yesterday about why some folks carry an extra mag when they're carrying concealed. he couldn't understand it.
@@cwr8618I’m not arguing what anyone Carry’s, it’s your right to carry whatever. But Statistically speaking you have almost a 0% chance of needing an extra mag, so it’s more practical to fill the space with something more likely to be used.
@@drossi101 reasonable. One of my IWB - a comfort carry, has space for an extra helper. I already carry a tac pen, mini light, and blade all in pockets. not sure what else i'd want to take its place
@@cwr8618 I’d recommend medical, and if you haven’t, definitely take some type of TCCC course. I carry a tourniquet iwb where most carry an extra mag and I have a pocket med kit. That’s just my two cents, from my experience.
@@drossi101 legit, thanks. And I agree, you never know if you're going to have to fix yourself or someone else. I do carry solid kits in the backpack on trips and all of our cars but nothing on my person, yet. I'm a registered (not practicing) EMT but I do want to take some of the tactical or wilderness courses.
Jocko doesn't have EDC, EDC has Jocko.

I carry my edc bag with me everywhere and I mean everywhere that I can legally carry a bag with a ccs compartment. Obviously this rules out planes and a few other high security places but as I do not carry a gun I keep most of my cutting tools in the ccs section of my bag. The San Andreas fault line could go off tomorrow and everyone would be running around bat shit out of there mind but the one thing edc has taught me is “always be ready” just be prepared to get yourself out of any situation u may need to.

Pat Mac is the reason that I only wear flip flops at my house. I have a pair of Slip on keen shoes for the flip flop style wear anywhere else, if I am not opting for some other shoes.

Keen Newport CLOSED TOE Sandals. Ripped my big toe nail off in open toe sandals running down a path in the woods as a kid. Sleep away summer camp was less fun after that.
My Sig p365 and streamlight stylus pro flashlight goes everywhere I go.

Sounds like it isn't every day carry if you have to assess what you'll be doing that day. EDC doesn't stand for "shit you bring with you when you think you'll need it."

I have the same watch from the thumbnail. Got it at the PX on Parris Island in April of 2003.
Whenever I go to the Shot Show on setup day, I can usually spot the former military guys who are probably not to recently retired or got out. They usually have a big backpack, shorts, and flip flops. The mall ninjas also have a backpack, but wear 511 pants and combat/tactical boots

I wish you would have followed up with what sneakers as I know Jocko as an old school straight edge hard-core fan he rocked Van's & was envious when he first got in the Teams that they had what was then custom all black Van's.
I've always worn Chucks, but they are narrow & the quality sucks for the price. I bought what was supposed to be Texan made Woobie's but they had shifted manufacturing to Spain, the first pair had the stitching holding the shoe to the sole tear it in my first week with very mild wear. They fit odd & for the price I wasn't impressed. I'm now thinking of trying Van's myself as I work as a Security Contractor & some times a nice or durable dress boot isnt needed which is how this video came up.

You can buy them private Party transfer. So if you know a LEO they can buy one and eventually sell it to you private party and that’s perfectly legal

Pre SCOTUS ruling it was very difficult. Have to be a cop, public figure, or someone with tons of physical cash to have a chance. Not sure if it was SD, but there was a CA sheriff that would only issue CCW's to big donars of her reelection campaign.
@@voltaire5427 it's not hard, just takes a long time to get the sheriff staff to get to your paperwork. my buddy just applied and he got a 10 month wait list.
It's California. Dang near gotta be stalked or being shot at to receive a permit. The fact you have to prove to law enforcement a legitimate reason to get a permit is criminal. California needs to flip to shall carry or constitutional carry.
I got one. It took two years and was fairly difficult but mainly just slow. That was during the early pandemic time, though

I hear you. Too me EDC is usually things you would carry in your pockets. Of course, a well equipped medical kit should be in all vehicles.

But their super useful. I leave my house and come back possibly 15 times a day.. I don't want to take off n put on socks n shoes every damn time. I'm the opposite of every day carry guys tho lol I do what's called carry as less as possible.
