I definitely relate to Wood on this issue. I am actually very bad with my brain wanting new things that I don't even finish most of the games that I buy probably not even halfway because within a week to a month my brain is looking for something new no matter how much I love the game that I'm playing
I freaking love your guys’ chemistry. You wouldn’t even have to be talking about video games and I would still be entertained and listening. Good yob nantindo bois
Love the concept of comfort games. I play through Final Fantasy X every couple of years, and Gauntlet Dark Legacy is saved for every time my cousins in town. So much nostalgia.
My brother and I have a “Golden Grahams and Golden Axe” night at least once a year, he comes over to spend the night at our house, we play Golden Axe and other Sega Genesis games whilst eating Golden Grahams, reliving our gaming moments growing up
this has been my favorite one yet guys. love it when you guys just bs your way through all this and not cut convo when its getting good because its slightly topic changing.
This podcast is amazing keep up the good work guys. Your chemistry really comes out in these podcasts. I was dying when wood was poking fun about the sculpt of the manga statues.
Animorphs: not the last one they touched. They could choose any of the DNAs that they have saved but you’re def right about only being able to be in that form for like an hour before they get stuck in it
😳👍This is a very subjective question. I like Retro over Modern because I grew up in a Retro era, but if you were born in the 90s or 2000s your exposure to mostly console gaming with mostly 3D gameplay is what feels more retro to you. I prefer good old classic 2d and indie style games. Pixel art style is more appealing then Graphic heavy realistic gaming to me. Awesome show guys! 😎
What a nostalgic episode! A friend and I were just talking goosebumps books the other day. Games I go back to are mostly old DOS games like Monster Bash, Epic Pinball (deep sea, specifically) and Glider.
animimorphs was my jam back in the day and the character wood mentioned gets stuck as a falcon i remember thinking that was cool af but now looking back its funny how they just mildly gloss over the effect it would have had on his family... anyway... the aliens were slugs that crawled into your head through your ear while you sleep then control your brain/body and integrate into society kinda like invasion of the body snatchers... @wood goosebumps was also my jam i would rush to the book section of walmart anytime we went shopping to look for a new goosebumps or animorphs book
I realized that I know every word to Madonna's first 3 albums and how to sing them, when my daughter put them on in the car on a road trip last month. I was immediately transported every road trip with my mom from 1986-1990.
I appreciate how good the last episodes has been: on focus, great back and forth, and without distractions. Just to friends sharing their passion and life experience. Thanks for taking the feedback from Podcast #11, at least it feels like it. I personally complained about having Skoot derailing the conversation at the time; while having an agent of chaos is fun, his audio was above yours making it too hectic. It's your show, you decide, we are happy to be here, but when you revisit the idea of inviting others, please define how you want them involve.
I was so excited when they were talking about the games they frequently go back to. They sadly moved from that topic very quickly. So much for retro vs modern. 😞
I know this episode was a few weeks ago, but I believe the the cup and ball with the spike they’re talking about is a kendama. And yes, trying to catch it in the spike is something people do with those. I used to try to combo each cup and then the spike and it felt amazing if you could do it, but then that was it for the kendama
I have a couple of games I've completed more than once, a few I've played for 100+ hours, not much, but Super Mario World is totally a comfort game, either playing for real or just running around a random level when I'm felling blue.
I’ve been through OoT, Pokémon Crystal and HeartGold so many times, so I guess they are my comfort games. I’ve also got so many hacked handhelds that I’ve set up and then barely touch 😅 However, I recently picked up the RG351V, and absolutely love the old GameBoy form factor, so I’ve been playing FFVI for the first time through it.
On the Gigapet conversation, apparently they are still popular. I just got one for my 10 year old niece for her birthday. She specifically asked for a Bandai Tomagatchi. Until she asked I didn't know they were still making them.
I prefer going back to older generations I may have missed, older titles I've missed, and checking out niche games (bonus points because they're normally cheap). On the modern side I like checking out indies and the occasional big release, especially on sale. Normally I only buy modern games at launch if it's part of a series I really like, it's surprisingly cheap or it's REALLY piqued my interest (eg Eternights).
I feel like this is two questions; which are your nostalgia comfort games, and which are your cosy games? Cosy for me is Stardew Valley, Minecraft, Animal Crossing. Nostalgia on the other hand; Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3 on the Mega Drive, Solomon's Club on the GameBoy, and Heroes of Might & Magic 2 on the PC.
I know people that LOVE that cup and ball thing so much they actually make all their content on it…and it’s been years. There’s like competitions for it, literally.
I bought a Skannerz a long time ago as an adult and I just rescued it from potential battery leakage damage. The toy is safe and it makes me happy because I always wanted one as a kid and never got one, and it's still in great condition. It was new in box when I got it but of course I had to open it and play it. I don't have anyone that would be nostalgic enough to battle with me, but that's okay.
My dad was really good at looking in to tech gifts and knowing like what mandatory necessities you needed to play the fun thing and he always liked to tease the main gift by having me open the necessary gift first. Like I opened the N64 memory expansion and then at the end I got Majora's Mask and then another year I got a screwdriver set and later on he got me a new video card to start building up a PC to play Final Fantasy XI
You can start to legally work in the US at 15. You can of course always do odd jobs like babysitter, mowing lawns, and general lawn work, etc to make some money.
49:30 it's called a kendama and there's a huge community. The spike is not for portability, it's actually part of the device and used a lot in "tricks"
Huge fan of Animorphs when they were being wrote. You could store any animal DNA you touched but if you morphed, you had two hours or you'd get stuck in that form forever. The "good" aliens are the Andalates. They had the morphing tech to fight and were against the Yeerks who were brain worms. The Yeerks also needed to go and swim in a liquid every 3 days or they'd die. Tobias was stuck as a hawk very early on. What was great about the series though is that it was always rotating through different characters' perspectives so you would understand how each person was seeing things.
I came here expecting video game content and I instead got a pill that ripped my mind wide open with all the things I played with and loved. I loved the Digimon toys and the Mighty Max's. I remember getting rumble robots and I loved that but that might of been more of an early 2000s thing.
love this podcast!! Nontendo all the way :D i love me some SX emulation of gamecube, n64, GBA. I don't own all the retro consoles to play OG OG, but wow i miss old nintendo playing through again! actually old gaming, new nintendo aint so bad but we need get back to what you said! have games that you pop in 10-30 minutes and see where you get haha :D i also think we need to expand mmos/new features without missing the vibe of old-school Nintendo and other console games!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that remembers Animorphs. I had soooo many of the books. Edit: Also had a ton of Goosebumps. Sounds like Wood and I had the same bookshelf.
My comfort games are games I grew up with, all the early Mario games, Zelda titles especially oot, super Metroid. But I’d also consider like… star dew valley a comfort game because it’s so mellow and relaxing and cozy atmosphere. Older games to me are comfortable because I know how to beat them and the nostalgia I feel for them.
I want you to know that I had to look up Lincoln logs. When I did, I found a picture of someone holding poo with a note saying it was from the toilet of the Ford theater on April 14th 1865.
I was born in 95 and I played with Lincoln logs as a kid, new box and everything

I’m on the same boat as Wood, I don’t really replay games or 100% them because I would rather play the huge backlog of games I have. Sometimes I try to go back to games I loved in the past just to remember them but that never lasts for longer than a few hours.
I’m a weird mix of the two. I have the Ayn Odin and the Steam Deck, but I prefer to use native hardware to play my games when I can, and have my own hacked N3DS, and almost every nintendo handheld. I use my Odin for games available on mobile and streaming (from my PS5, and Xbox someday). My steam deck is actually now getting used much because I don’t have many games on steam.
they had Kzone in the philippines too but they discontinued publication in 2017. honestly id say that magazine was a kids gateway to geekdom from videogames to the hottest toys and gadgets growing up
I'm from America and started working full time when I was 14.....I bought myself a dirt bike for my 15th birthday.....as well as my school clothes etc.....moved out when I was 16 because I was beaten and verbally abused since I was about 6....I had to get away... I'm only a few months older than Wood. So I understand what he's been through. And props to Wood btw, it's not easy raising yourself when your parents tell you how much they wish they never had you and how you will never be anything but a worthless piece of sh*t....sad to say that it's comforting to know other people go through similar things as unfortunate as it is.
I got a Wii on launch but didn't open it and when I saw they were selling for a bunch on eBay, so I sold it. But not for a proffit. I just wanted to help some parent that couldn't find one anywhere. What would bum me out of helping someone out? That they were complaining they had to pay me the sales tax because their state doesn't have that. They knew my price for this IMPOSSIBLE TO GET console before they agreed and they still had the nerve ask why I was charging $20 over retail plus shipping...
Just completed my Megaman collection with the physical Megaman Battle Network collection. Now I'm planning to start with the original Megaman from the NES and go all the way.

Never thought I’d hear someone else talk about Skannerz. I thought I’d dreamt that up in a fever dream or something. They just disappeared without a trace.
Having an aneurysm over your Animorphs comments lmaooo... I'm going to seriously nerd myself here but...they had to touch the animals to acquire their DNA and then they could turn into it any time they wanted, not just the most recent one, but only for two hours. WRONG! It made the episode
The intro to this episode is why I try not to leave Bob on his own.
can't give away advice as valuable as that, understandable, but it is a public service
we all needed to hear it
It's good life advice for the uninitiated.
Thanks Bob! I should get in there a little better! Anyone wanna hear a really cool fart?
You really shouldnt have left him alone there lol
“I’m putting off beating it, because it’s so hard” -Bob Wulf
👍👍
damn it this has 69 likes and i don’t wanna change that
I definitely relate to Wood on this issue. It sounds like a 2nd or 3rd date 😂
do u ship them bro
@@TheFinalWagon almighty ship
they weren't talking about them
I’d be the filling in a multi Bob sandwich for sure 😂😻
One of my favorite comfort games is Stardew Valley
Love the concept of comfort games. I play through Final Fantasy X every couple of years, and Gauntlet Dark Legacy is saved for every time my cousins in town. So much nostalgia.
My brother and I have a “Golden Grahams and Golden Axe” night at least once a year, he comes over to spend the night at our house, we play Golden Axe and other Sega Genesis games whilst eating Golden Grahams, reliving our gaming moments growing up
I’m so glad I know someone who has to beat final fantasy x every 5 years too haha
@@andy_collins91 it's too good!!
I can't believe he just took a bite of both of the sticks of the Kitkat instead of breaking them apart first. LOL
Looking for this! I was severely perturbed >.>
this has been my favorite one yet guys. love it when you guys just bs your way through all this and not cut convo when its getting good because its slightly topic changing.

Animorphs: not the last one they touched. They could choose any of the DNAs that they have saved but you’re def right about only being able to be in that form for like an hour before they get stuck in it
The guy got stuck as a hawk in the first book and eventually got the power to morph again
And was even able to morph back to his human form
Also they all had a specialty though the one animal that was their go to
Like the girl and her bear

Honestly anything older than wii ps3 and Xbox 360 feels retro to me, but yes a good 2d pixel art indie or genesis snes classic has a better feel to it
What a nostalgic episode! A friend and I were just talking goosebumps books the other day. Games I go back to are mostly old DOS games like Monster Bash, Epic Pinball (deep sea, specifically) and Glider.
You guys always get snippy with each other 🤣
I love how happy Bob was in the ad!

Im glad that wulff advice everyone to wash their crack and balls in the correct way. Very informative and educational is this podcast
I violate myself every time I clean myself
I don’t even play video games anymore. I still watch your videos. I just like the banter.
The best comfort game for me is called: "The Nontendo Podcast" ❤️
i’ve never seen bob happier than him eating those hello kitty cookies
I realized that I know every word to Madonna's first 3 albums and how to sing them, when my daughter put them on in the car on a road trip last month. I was immediately transported every road trip with my mom from 1986-1990.
Comfort game for me is SM64. I can just jump around forever and never get bored.
I appreciate how good the last episodes has been: on focus, great back and forth, and without distractions. Just to friends sharing their passion and life experience.

I still play with the Digimon vpets and I’m 31 lol
This was the first episode of this channel that truly felt like a podcast, this was great guys, especially as a nostalgic 31 year old lol.
I prefer going back to older generations I may have missed, older titles I've missed, and checking out niche games (bonus points because they're normally cheap). On the modern side I like checking out indies and the occasional big release, especially on sale. Don't worry Bob! I'm 30 and also had lincoln logs growing up
Also those handheld water games with the rings and goals
Comfort game is the Witcher 3, and I always look forward to reaching Kaer Morhen for the reunion
I had lincoln logs growing up and I was born in 2000. My parents thought Legos were a waste and would get lost so that was my building toy. 😂
So many modern games are the exact same. I usually go back and play old games I missed or favorites.
The stick spike with cups is called Kendama
Seeing Bob get so happy with the Tokyo treat just made me smile
It’s nice seeing him so happy, he’s a sweet cutie
Watching Bob shotgun a wrapper full of Japanese candy is the kind of entertainment to be found and enjoyed only on RUclips.
32:30 - I'll need to come back to this part in the future.
Bob: You *need* to do the “Fry on 100 cups of coffee” skit with multiple bobs skimming round the set preventing spills, trips etc 😂❤❤❤❤❤
Literally just ordered the book Holes for my son like 2 weeks ago! I loved it as a kid!
Splatoon is def my “comfort” Game despite it not being relaxing at all.
I can totally relate to Bob. I'm 30 years old and not many new games interest me anymore, so I tend to go back and replay old/retro games.
100% sure you weren't looking properly. Tell me the genres you're interested in and I'll give you a few games to check out.
You had great times playing games. That’s a good list 😎
I know people that LOVE that cup and ball thing so much they actually make all their content on it…and it’s been years. There’s like competitions for it, literally.

~27:00 Speaking of Tamagotchi, Playstation had the pocketstation where you could raise chocobos for the FF8 PS1 game. They where sold in Japan only.
While I do watch both of their channels. This podcast episode helps verify why I watch more Wulf content than Wood's content

My favorite kitkat from tokyo treat was champagne strawberry, it was SO GOOD!!
i always look forward to watching this podcast each week :)
49:30 it's called a kendama and there's a huge community. The spike is not for portability, it's actually part of the device and used a lot in "tricks"
Yeah that PCS Mega Man X statue is so dope! I'm leaning more towards the Mega Man version but the Zero version is sick too!
Animal crossing, stardew valley, and main series Pokémon games are my comfort games.
Favorite comfort games in no particular order - MGS1, Crash Bandicoot trilogy (original) and Goldeneye64
This is exactly one hour, congratulations
I came here expecting video game content and I instead got a pill that ripped my mind wide open with all the things I played with and loved. I loved the Digimon toys and the Mighty Max's. I remember getting rumble robots and I loved that but that might of been more of an early 2000s thing.

For what it’s worth, Mr. Wood Beatemups, sir, the yelling bit was very funny
I'm definitely a more retro player but I'm trying to work on my ever increasing backlog before they become retro games too.
Bob nailed that opening! 😂
no see this episode is so sick cuz its literally just them vibing and hanging out
Today I found out that I'm exactly like Bob, I feel exactly like he does about comfort games and retro games in particular.
I’m really impressed with the 1:00:00 video length
I want you to know that I had to look up Lincoln logs. When I did, I found a picture of someone holding poo with a note saying it was from the toilet of the Ford theater on April 14th 1865.

Perfect episode for me, i just started installing emulators on my steam deck last night!
Love this episode!! Always down for toy nostalgia talk 👍👍

THE BOB SHOW !!!!!!! We need more of that rhetoric in our lives, captivating opening
I used to play with Lincoln blocks!! I was a mid 90s kid lol
they had Kzone in the philippines too but they discontinued publication in 2017. honestly id say that magazine was a kids gateway to geekdom from videogames to the hottest toys and gadgets growing up
What an intro 👏
Oh jeeze, I too am part of the Nickelodeon Magazine brainwash group 😂😂
My comfort games are, WWF No Mercy, Super Mario Bros 3, Conker Bad Fur Day, Resident Evil 2
I'm from America and started working full time when I was 14.....I bought myself a dirt bike for my 15th birthday.....as well as my school clothes etc.....moved out when I was 16 because I was beaten and verbally abused since I was about 6....I had to get away... Monster Hunter has always been my comfort series
It seems longer episodes would also work well for u guys, feels like you guys only just started talking and then it got cut short.
Thank you so much for making a video on retro stuff.
6:36 not even as self promo, I did a video on this so very cool to hear yours!
Well 30 seconds in and best intro ever i F****n love the bob show LOL
I freaking LOVED KZone as a kid. KZone and Total Girl were my jam.
Just completed my Megaman collection with the physical Megaman Battle Network collection. Now I'm planning to start with the original Megaman from the NES and go all the way.
Love the retro toy talk 😄 Anyone remember Tazo's?
these guys are stoned AF at he beginning of this podcast 😂
There was no GI Joe in the U.K. either, was all action man! I had that scuba action man too, what a toy
Awwwww look at Bob playing his hacked 3DS. He's all grown up. :)
"I get the gist of it, but let me go back to playing Mega Man X."
Bob, I don't think I've ever related to a quote this much.
idky but anytime i play nickelodeon games i ALWAYS remember the Tak game for some reason
41:05 You can only work as a 14 year old in NYC during summer.
a comfort game for me is definitely crazy taxi, it's on steam. there's also a particular guide you should check out in steam if you prefer the original soundtrack. yup its verified byw
I am 31 now. I cried getting that game for Christmas in the 2000s lol
I'm 38....and Legos and Lincoln logs were amazing lol
Never thought I’d hear someone else talk about Skannerz. I thought I’d dreamt that up in a fever dream or something. They just disappeared without a trace.
Having an aneurysm over your Animorphs comments lmaooo... I'm going to seriously nerd myself here but...they had to touch the animals to acquire their DNA and then they could turn into it any time they wanted, not just the most recent one, but only for two hours.
