Oh wow where did you read that the marriage wasn’t secure? But I agree she had everything to go on. Sergei’s mother and sister are the ones I feel bad for the most. It’s tragic what happened to Katia, but her life continued and she married twice more and now seems she is very happy with her 3rd husband, but Sergei’s mother would never be able to get another son and she died 5 years after Sergei died because she could not handle this grief and fell seriously I’ll after losing her son. 5 years before Sergei had died, Sergei’s mother also lost her husband. And Sergei’s sister lost her father, boyfriend, brother and mother all in the span of 10 years and was left alone to fend for herself and raise her daughter on her own. She’s not like Katia who had both parents and support of the whole America and all her friends
