- For all of you out there who absolutely hate when you have to get a job done and those damn caps are making a 20 minute job a 3 hour job.. here’s a method I use. I hope this helps you!

Thanks! Walmart claims they don’t have the tools to get it off. They said it was frozen.(Wife was getting new tires). Had to use vise grips as well as your trick. Cap came off, used the Milwaukee impact and lug came out.

Just used this tip to get the caps off my girlfriend's 2018 Renegade. How's a jeep not come with a spare anymore? But now that I've got the lug issue solved, she's finally got a full size spare, jack, chock, and lug wrench ready to go.

Just done one today 18 slips on it but I had a old 4 way lug wrench that fit good broke them loose without removing caps go figure it's a jeep

Can you explain a little more what you do to the lug stud when it's in the vice. Are you hammering it to split the cap off? Or are you just getting the lug stud out of the socket and not breaking the cap off?
My caps don't come off with a couple hard hits of a hammer.

@@jrsgarage2588 do you have any tricks for getting the cap off the lug stud when it's off the car? The aftermarkets available aren't the same as factory.
@@LetsTryLuck Unfortunately I do not. Best advice is to screw it back on a couple threads. Smack a socket on it and follow what i did in the video

I’m trying to find some that are good to replace these lug nuts with a solid, single piece of strong metal (you know how they always were made before this shit was made cheaply). Anyone know how or where to buy them?
couldnt find, i asked my dealer and they said i could only buy the same chrome failure prone bolts lol
