Great reaction!! This band doesn't have a single bad song!! Just type in Jinjer and throw a dart and you will land on a winner!!

The best way to answer both your questions is to watch Perennial Live at Waken 2019. You get to hear her speak in English with an accent both before and after the song, and you get to hear her flawless transition from clean singing to growls and back instantly in front of a crowd of thousands.

you're not mistaken...they are from Ukraine...it is an odd thing that when it comes to singing, accents tend to disappear, but if you see Tatiana in interviews, although her English has greatly improved over the years, it's easy to hear it isn't her mother tongue...you should check out some performances from them"Perinnial" live at Waken or "Who is gonna be the one" official live video, there's no microphone gimmickry or effect, it's Tatiana...Jinjer are a super tight band, any recorded music they have, they can replicate live, they're that good

I recommend two Jinjer songs sung in your native language. The first is "I Wish so gonna get it"("Желаю - значит получу") Completely native.
The second "Retrospection" is bilingual, native and English are used in it.
"Retrospection" is a fairly "strong" song, worthy of a review.
It is sung in both about the fundamental feelings of people.

Fun reaction. I've seen them twice and they are epic - oh, and this is just her high and mid-range growls, btw. :D There is significant editing and both vocal and instrumental layering, but fundamentally it is legit. I was quite skeptical when I found them and did a deep dive into old bootlegs of theirs. There's good bootleg videos form 2011 and 2012 before they even had a record label showing off Tati's skills. Also, I'd point out singers like Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy (We Will Rise MFVF 2010 is a good example) for comparison, though Angela doesn't have Tati's clean skills. Where to go next depends on your preferences, but I'd recommend a concert video to put any lingering doubts to rest. Their next heavier song (this is 3rd lightest) is Perennial, and the live performance at Wacken from 2019 is amazing. A classic performance focusing on her growling skills, including showing off her low-range growls from 2017 is Who Is Gonna Be The One. If you want to go straight to her most savage growls in anything they've released, check out Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev. Cheers!

What you’re hearing is really from Tatiana! And if you might like to hear one of their really live recordings (without any vocal doubling or the like), I can totally vouch for “Who’s Gonna to Be the One” (live) and “Perennial” (live from Wacken).
And just as a preemptive heads-up: If you might like to pronounce “Wacken” like the locals, one would say “Vah-ken.” (In German, “W” is pronounced like a “V” is in English.) I’m only mentioning that part just since most folks seem to stumble over that one a bit.

  • @barkingwolff

As for Tatiana’s English pronunciation : everything is explained simply - she’s not a “street girl” but has a higher education and a master’s degree in Russian literature and poetry (she writes 99% of the band’s lyrics and tonns of poetry "out of musics"), and the influence of classical Russian literature is clearly traced there "a-la" Tolstoy, Turgenev, Dostoevsky, Chekhov, Pushkin, etc.) ... and higher education at russian universities is more than a guarantee of COMPREHENSIVE knowledge, so do not be surprised at her good English ...))
    Stay Metal!
    Peace!

Прям, лучше не скажешь.! Реально в их песнях все реагируют сначала на гроул, потом на вокал, потом на её персону, потом на всю группу. И редко кто начинает с лирики. А на лирике построена даже видео картинка. Read the lyrics first!!

Nice to see a normal legit reaction and not a scared freaked-out over-the-top reaction. Yes that is all her doing but from what I understand you do not use your vocal cords to make that growling voice when done correctly and so there is no damage. To switch back and forth is difficult from what I understand but she does it flawlessly. But what do I know, I'm not a singer. The band is very tight which is why I enjoy them. Mind you that Pisces is a mellow introduction song and most of their songs are much heavier. Might I suggest checking out the Live version of
On The Top (Live In Kiev) to hear something live ruclips.net/video/4Mg7fbki-gA/видео.html
or Teacher Teacher (Official MV) ruclips.net/video/oRkRwL0vjOg/видео.html as that is some awesome stuff as well.
They've had several drummers over the years.
"Sit Stay Roll Over" is pretty intense. ruclips.net/video/a98LI-arNS4/видео.html
"I speak astronomy" is epic. ruclips.net/video/KJoPIgg17U4/видео.html

Yeah a lot of fake reactions to this song, but also quite a few that seem to really be surprised since this song is good at lulling unaware victims into a false state of security. Specially people not used to growling at all can easily be surprised/scared into insane reactions, specially those that scares easily.

Who is gonna be the one live or perennial live are excellent to check out which showcases more depth to the band. Pisces is good but I feel like the majority of its hype is in the initial reaction to just how unbelievable Tatiana is as a vocalist; whereas the aforementioned songs and perhaps teacher teacher is what showcases what the entire band can do as a whole.

I recommend you listen to Jinjer, "Who is going to be the one". You have hit a few of the great reaction bands, here are a few more:
Nightwish - "Ghost Love Score, Wacken 2013" - Symphonic Metal (Finland), Female Singer - ruclips.net/video/JYjIlHWBAVo/видео.html
Unleash the Archers - "Awakening" (Canada) - Power Metal - Female Singer - ruclips.net/video/gqUPGa15Oto/видео.html
"the Warning" - A hard rock band of 3 sisters out of Mexico, heavily influenced by Classic Rock - Try the song "Dust to Dust, Live at Lunaro" - Keeping rock alive for the next generation - ruclips.net/video/TeIbG8nkOiU/видео.html
"Lovebites" - a Japanese power metal band, all-female as well, try the song "Shadowmaker" - ruclips.net/video/xYdJHaqy_JM/видео.html
"Rammstien" - an 'industrial metal' band out of Germany, very unique, do live videos as they aggressively block official videos. Recommend "Mein Tell" as a starting point - They do probably the best stage show of any band I have ever seen.

Her adorable accent comes through in bits and pieces in the song: “When I wave my feeein...” “Hoooooks and nets are there for me...”

"Adorable" is exactly the right word for Tatiana. The long "oo" in "hooks and nets" sounds just like the accent of people in the northern half of England to me. I lived in North Yorkshire for ten years, a long time ago.
