This week we're finishing off our bus conversion ready to take her to the engineer for her VASS certification and one step closer to roadworthy and full time bus life travel.
From installing a lock to keep the tiny house secure, to oil and filter changes to help it run smoothly. There is still a lot left to do before this bus conversion is complete.
But when we are done these 2 amateur builders will have converted this school bus into the gorgeous, functional tiny house that it is.

Hi Di and Sam. I love how great you guys at researching your ideas. What an amazing outcome for the for lock. Nice work on the vent. So glad you’re no longer gassing yourselves. The bathroom looks great. Omg those calf’s are great fun. It’s nice Sam’s dad joined and helped. Arias looks great in drivers seat. Looks like it’s driving great. Well done guys.

We've learnt if we don't then we're just asking for problems haha! Better to be informed :)
We're stoked Rose, I don't think it'll be long now, still reminding myself to take it easy through this end phase haha!

It's brilliant! It was getting us so down and then when we found this lock it was like that final piece that we needed!

Good Morning folks, thank you for another interesting video. I have recently had to replace the front door handle / lock on our homestead, so although your door is completely different to mine I took a keen interest. I 'loved' the strip lighting and I have considered getting some in the past for my pantry and laundry, but somehow forgot - strip lighting is back on the radar now. The bus drive was terrifiying - watching those bottles and jars, lol. The calves were nice. Having said that best go out and fed my own cattle, calves, sheep and chickens. The cows are bellowing for me. Hope all went well in Ballarat. Take care, Susan

This was the ONLY lock that would work, you should have seen us at Bunnings Susan, sitting in the lock Isle looking at every option! Thats one thing about a DIY, custom build, nothing standard works!! haha
I love our strip lights, they were also so affordable, I just got ours off ebay - $30, and the dimmer is a serious game changer, as those puppies are bright!
Hahaha you and I both, we have since secured a lot of those things to make sure they wouldn't fall! Thats the best part of a test drive ;)
Oh enjoy your beautiful animals, I so miss having our own.
      Take care gorgeous, stay warm

Hey Barry we just have our house fridge ATM. 240volt, but super efficient only pulls maybe 30-40 watts at a time.
We will be upgrading soon as it is way too large for the space and doesn't open in the direction we want

Yes I’m running an LG Inverter fridge freezer it’s on 24/7 just running off the solar and lithium batteries even the wet days here in VICTORIA I have had 3 converted buses and a coach now a fifth wheeler with a truck pulling it and recently put in a DCTODC charger to top up the lithium whilst driving

Why arent you using plastic square containers for everything, they can be easily locked in place by a simple L shaped "lock", they dont make any sound when driving if you put them flush, theres many diferent sizes for shirts, pants, food and anything you need. they are cheap and seethrou.

    • @DiandSam
      @DiandSam  14 дней назад

They are certainly a great budget option but we have chosen to avoid plastic where we can in our lives. With so many windows too they're likely to wear and become flimsy and easy to break. We might use some under the bed for storage though... Not sure. Don't need them yet 😊

@DiandSam theres sunlight resistant ones, or I would just make my own wood and add flush square glass or plastic containes inside them, cuz unprotected glas containers are kinda dangerous if they break when traveling, and glass can break from vibration, ofc its a low chanse . Also glass and sunlight = fire.
