Behtareen rendition! My advice to Rashid Khan is never to go on stage to perform alongside ghazal singers to denigrade his own art. And yes, Tabla accompaniment by Pt Bandopadhyay and harmonium accompaniment by Pt Jyoti Goho in this piece was A1 as well. It seems from the clapping at the end that it was a public performance recording. If so the sound quality of recording is absolutely superb. Perhaps this was done in a studio with a limited audience in attendance. It may also not be out of place to mention here that this famous Chhayanat bandish by Ustad Nisar Hussin Khan has been beautifully rendered on the Sitar by Adnan Khan. We are lucky to have such amazing artists performing great music.
Very interesting interpretation. Very skillful use of S-R-G-M-P-M-G-R keeps it distinct from Kalyan and then he breaks away with P-S! Don't see much of P-P-P-P-R or even S-R-G-M-P-R which other singers claim to be the core of Chayanat. A true master!

Chayanat is Raga Nat and chaya of Bilawal mixed with kalyan.so re ga ma pa re or re ga ma pa ga ma re is necessary in this raga.Do not misinterpret.
