"Joyful, Joyful" and "Ball of Confusion" are iconic to me in the sequel!!! In high school, my classmates and I actually reenacted that chorus competition scene during a talent show!!! I will never forget it!!!
I still get the chills every time I heard Lauryn sing that Joyful, Joyful solo as well as her duet with Tanya Blount "his eye is on the sparrow". Soooo good.
I wish you had included His Eye Is On The Sparrow in the list, it's just breathtaking. Otherwise, well done! Joyful, Joyful is my favorite number though. I still love watching the Sister Act movies all these years later. Never get old in my book.
And the part where Vince calls one of the nun baby in the casino and when she turns around it's the one that was in charge of the choir and she replies "Yes sweetheart!" Makes me crack up every time.
One of the greatest film duos of my time. Back in the day when we got new fresh ideas from films. Hit or miss, it was something to see. Even the sequels were amazing. Not some remake, redo, or the like as it is done today. Great laughs, but also some very powerful movies too.
a cool moment in-conjunction with the "I Will Follow Him" performance is seeing Doloris wearing her nun-outfit without the headpiece, allowing for her big Afro to return in the final act, it was a nice contrast after seeing Whoopi in the nun's habit for the majority of the movie. Plus it kinda made sense, she was putting on a show for the Pope, so she needed to look the part. My fav parts are the reworking of the classic hymns and every time Doloris tried to act like a nun
during my high school final music exam we had Oh Happy Day (the slow version) on our set list... what our music teach didn't know was that we snuck in extra practice with the music-students from the lower classes in order pull off the Sister Act version of Oh Happy Day... the final music exam was always sung in concert/art-gallery form (art-students filled the gallery with their final exam projects) parents & fellow students got to go through the gallery to see the final projects of the art-students while listening to the final exam set list of the music students... everyone in the hall was so enthusiastic of our Oh Happy Day version that they asked for more and a lot of the students that we'd enlisted as band from the lower classes knew Joyful joyful & I will follow him... cue an entire Sister Act encore in a hall filled with people either singing along or just going bananas (in a good way)... met my music teacher years later purely coincidental and he said that people at school were still talking about that set-list... (sadly he suddenly died shortly after we met, way too young... his funeral was during the height of covid restrictions and was, therefore, online... hundreds of his old students watched it and created a digital guestbook so everyone could enter his or her memory of the teacher/wish/condolences to the teacher's family... later they had a thank-you note posted in every newspaper in the country just to reach everyone who contributed to the digital guestbook to tell them that they'd decided to make an official print of the book along with several pictures of the teacher and that people could purchase it if they wished, with all proceeds going to the More Music in Class initiative of Queen Maxima of the Netherlands... it was so unexpected... I'll remember our "Bokito-gorilla" teacher forever (he kinda had the imposing features/figure of a Western Lowland Gorilla and he'd had the nickname gorilla for years, the moment Bokito escaped in Rotterdam Zoo it changed to Bokito and it stuck... he loved it according to his wife and children)...
"Salveeeeee Regina!!!" Loved that scene but the favorite one was at the singing competition, "Joyful Joyful"-It introduced us to a teenage Lauryn Hill! My childhood memories!
My favourite scenes first movie: when sister Mary Roberts gives Dolores the alarm clock. "Get out of bed you Daisy head" still makes me smile. The second movie: when she gets the students to repeat "if you want to be somebody, if you want to go somewhere you better wake up and pay attention." And the students make it their own by adding rhythm. I still sing it when I'm feeling like I need a positive affirmation
You know, these are objectively great movies that hold up even in 2022. There is absolutely nothing offensive in these movies, they ultimately promote wholesome messages, and do the ultimate job of any movie you could want to make: they’re entertaining!
It's a short scene, but I really like when Dolores is a kid in Catholic school, and she is asked the names of the Apostles, and she says "John, Paul, George and Ringo". It never fails to crack me up, it's so clever
I absolutely loved all of the SisterAct films....I only wish there were MORE! of them Perhaps the right actress (or actor) will step forward to make us all cheer! Sister Act... I just can't get enough!!! hmmm Brother Act sounds like an interesting title as well for a sequal! Why not?
You should have definitely included Mr. Crisp, Father Maurice and the friars chasing Deloris and the choir after learning about her true identity. Their whole plot is hilarious starting with Father Thomas' crazy driving and then locking in Mr. Crisp with Father Wolfgang's big sausage
I love the free style the kids did in the beginning of Sister Act 2. Then Sister Mary Clarence chimes in with "I got the flow, you all gotta go! So get your bags up so we could go go go! Oooo! Aaaaaa! Now! Thank you!"😁
Yes I've loved these movies since I was a kid! "Hail Holy Queen" and "I Will Follow Him" always get me emotional. Also YES that high note in "O Happy Day" gets me every time!!
This has left me teary, I swear and I watched the first Sister Act in 1993, so u can guess my age! My highlights are of course Whoopi Goldberg scenes, Lauryn Hill's sweet voice on Holy holy and God in heaven, that boy Ahmal's high note like Tevin Campbell. Where are they both? I am.a big fan of musicals! 😀😀😀
-You can't fall in love with a nun. *Me when I saw Sister Mary Robert*: Man, she is beautiful, how is her personality and how beautiful she looks when she sings, her smile, everything, I just fell in love 😍😍😍
I saw this exact same comment from a different channel. yes, mackenna/mary robert is a very beautiful woman but to really copy paste it into any video of sister act that u see? damn
One of my favourite scenes from Sister act 1, is when the nuns are in Reno in the night club and they have spread out to confuse the men chasing Delores, when Vince comes up behind a nun, thinking it's Delores and he says to her "Hey babe" and Sr Mary Lazarus turns around and says" Yes sweetheart?"
I wanted sister Mary Patrick Dancing to gimmie gimmie gravy tonight! to be in this list or the scene outside ware the girls are teaching them to dance and she jumps in the middle with her own moves so funny 😂
I'm very happy that you made a list of these classic movies! Growing up going to Catholic school and having Nuns around, I always wanted them to break out into song! I love these movies! Thanks again!
These films never fail to make me bawl. Once I spent the whole second half of the second one crying my eyes out. Which is kind if weird, considering it's supposed to be a heartwarming comedy, but what can you do as an aspiring musician who never got the support these kids got from Deloris? 💙
I watched Sister act 1 and 2 not a long ago and I was amazed! My favourite Sister act song is I will follow him. The first movie is great, but the sequel is nailed it! And the reason is number 3 which is my favourite Sister act moment. And btw, Whoopi Goldberg is my favourite actress.
Dolores is trying to convince the Mother Superior to hide her in the convent. Mother Superior wants nothing to do with the idea (or Dolores): Dolores: Sister, people are trying to kill me! Mother Superior: Anyone who's ever met you I imagine. Dolores smirks. Maggie Smith delivered that line with impeccable timing; which, of course, she always does. This dialog definitely would be on my list of all-time favorite movie insults (if I had one). I laugh out loud whenever I think of it.
I wish that inspirational speech Dolores gave the kids backstage was mentioned in this list. The one where they wanted to quit. That was really a touching scene.
Ugh I know, right? The part where Tanya and Lauryn sung “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” will always be my favorite part because that song touches my heart in so many ways.
Favourite part is when Mary Robert walks in on Rita & her classmate singing in the church & Rita stops singing. Despite it being just a few minutes, the girls' harmonies are spectacular. It gives me goosebumps every single time! I'm super sad it wasn't even in the honourable mentions!
My memorable scenes Shoulder action on My God Sister Alma plays piano smiling all the time!!!! "Boogie woogieee on the piano!!!!" Hahahaha "IF YOU WANNA BE SOMEBODY" Jam!!!! Aghhhhhhhhh that was sooo coooooollllll

Howwww did the High note not make top 3??? Or “His Eye is on the Sparrow” , “If you wanna be somebody” , “Ball of Confusion” & The Performance At the Beginning of Sister Act 2 isn’t even mentioned??? Throw the whole list away
Yeah, I'm fine with most of the choices, but either they need to re-work it or make a Part 2; #1 didn't make much sense and the high note moment and first performance from SA:2 should've been somewhere on the list.
I love all the music in both movies, but there’s something about the simplicity of His Eyes Were On the Sparrow in Sister Act 2 that always gets to me.
The SISTER ACT-1 is still the Best Movie and Original Storyline... more action, suspense, thrills, comedy, and logical humor, with less "dragging drama" than the SISTER ACT-2 sequel... no wonder Sister Act-1 earned 231.6M at the Box Office in 1992 than the obvious 125M only in the 1993 sequel... Facts and Truth, Historically speaking...
My fave song from Sister Act 2 is Joyful, Joyful and my fave song from the first movie is I Will Follow Him. My college choir sang both of them in concert. I did the Sign Language for Joyful, Joyful and sang "he'll always be my true-ue loove, from now until forever!"
I heard they're coming out with a third Sister Act movie next year called Sister Act 3: Kicking the Habit. Supposedly Keke Palmer and Bette Midler are going to be joining the cast along with Whoopi, Kathy, and the others reprising their iconic roles
The "I will follow him" part is ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!
Maggie Smith's line: "I lied."
...without pause or filtration.
One of the best responses in movie history...
"Joyful, Joyful" and "Ball of Confusion" are iconic to me in the sequel!!! In high school, my classmates and I actually reenacted that chorus competition scene during a talent show!!! I will never forget it!!!
My middle school choir did too
@@akeyiawatts1575 nice!!! ❤️
My college jazz choir re-enacted "Joyful Joyful" and one guy had a hubcap around his neck as his 'bling'...it was hilariously AWESOME!
My choir class in HS got shown this whenever the teacher needed to do bookkeeping.
I still get the chills every time I heard Lauryn sing that Joyful, Joyful solo as well as her duet with Tanya Blount "his eye is on the sparrow". Soooo good.
that "When Jesus WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASHED..." always gets me teary-eyed.

Same here
Yesss!!!! Boy sannng that song!
Ditto! It's heartwarming!!! ❤️
yes!!! I'm agree with you
If you want to be somebody,
If you want to go somewhere,
You got to wake up and pay attention.
I’ve always remembered this!
yesss 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
These movies were my childhood growing up. I miss Whoopi Goldberg, but loved that she played the Mother Superior in the Broadway musical! 🎶♥️
She's so legend
She's still alive by the way
Sister Act 3 need to hurry up and be made soon...I freakin' LOVE this series
AYE AYE!!!!!
Clearly that high note was supposed to be #1. It still gives me chills ❤️
Aman
When Lauryn Hill and Tanya Blount started singing Eye on the Sparrow...omg!!
@JigInsane Ikr? That part always touches my heart and leaves me breathless.
It's way better on the soundtrack! Makes me cry.
I wish you had included His Eye Is On The Sparrow in the list, it's just breathtaking. Otherwise, well done!
Joyful, Joyful is my favorite number though. I still love watching the Sister Act movies all these years later. Never get old in my book.
"Try to blend in." (The Mother Superior to the nuns in the casino while they are all in their habit)
That always cracked me up when I watch that scene...especially when the one nun gets caught playing a slot machine in the casino! 🤣
And the part where Vince calls one of the nun baby in the casino and when she turns around it's the one that was in charge of the choir and she replies "Yes sweetheart!" Makes me crack up every time.
One of the greatest film duos of my time.

Great laughs, but also some very powerful movies too.
My favorite song in the first movie: “Hail Holy Queen”, in part two Lauryn Hill’s cover: “Joyful Joyful”. ❤️🙏🏽😇
Yeah
"Hail Holy Queen" in the first, "Oh Happy Day" in the second.
a cool moment in-conjunction with the "I Will Follow Him" performance is seeing Doloris wearing her nun-outfit without the headpiece, allowing for her big Afro to return in the final act, it was a nice contrast after seeing Whoopi in the nun's habit for the majority of the movie. Plus it kinda made sense, she was putting on a show for the Pope, so she needed to look the part. My fav parts are the reworking of the classic hymns and every time Doloris tried to act like a nun
“If you want to be somebody, and you want to go somewhere, you better wake up and pay attention.” Favorite quote of the franchise.
it’s “wake up” and pay attention
@@shavonfrazier1388 thank you I just fixed it. I know the quote I just didn’t realize I made an error thanks again!

The bunch of nuns crossing the street in Reno is absolutely hysterical 😂
Every time I watched the movie with my family and we got to this scene, my Dad always said, "Look, a bunch of penguins!"
My favourite scenes

Sister Act is one the best comedies ever, and Sister Act 2 has some of the best musical numbers. Love!!!!!!!!
"I'm going to the little Nuns Room Nosey"! I still say this when I have to go.
wow
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I will follow him, Ain't no Mountain High Enough, Joyful, Joyful, & Oh Happy Day I kno all these songs word for word.
The fact that she told only two of the nuns how to fix their singing and all of a sudden the entire choir sounds amazing.
Love the Sister Act movies! The songs are my favorite songs from them! That boy who hits the high note always gets me!
Oh and the lady who played Mary Robert didn't have a singing voice so she was dubbed for the songs in both movies apparently.
It's a short scene, but I really like when Dolores is a kid in Catholic school, and she is asked the names of the Apostles, and she says "John, Paul, George and Ringo". It never fails to crack me up, it's so clever
The Greatest Medley Ever Told opening from Sister Act 2 was the best musical number 😁

what a great couple of movies. Lots of fun and so wholesome! Nice to see them getting some attn in 2021!
