I remember my early 20s (2008-2009) I was depressed, lonely, worked at a factory while trying to be a full time college student. My fav part during that time in my life was coming home turning the tv on and watching Kobe in the playoffs!

A 34 years old Kobe could average nearly 28 ppg 6 assists and 6 reb on 47 and carry that injured af disappointing Lakers squad to the finals. I remember the game before he tored his Achilles he had 47 against Lillard and the trailblazers. He'd still be busting ass today averaging around 25ppg if that shitty injury never happened and would even had a chance to be the all time leading scorer. A really big IF and a hurting one for kobe fans like me

This was it. This was the reason I just loved this man. HE put us all through it with him. Through the beginnings of being selected to his first All-Star game back in New York, winning not 1, not 2, but 3 championships with Shaq. Although in my personal opinion if those two stayed, holy shit. The stolen MVP year of having to outscore an entire team through 3 quarters by yourself, then a few weeks later putting down the 2nd greatest scoring output ever, with a team that was ultimately had to be dragged to the playoffs on your back. The trails and tribulations of your own personal life that caught on was fire. Losing to those damn Celtics, but only to get back at them 2 years later in Game 7 giving it your all even though you did not score as much, but hustled to grab every rebound you can to win. To now where you got the entire sports community rallying over this day, April 13th 2016 the Mamba Day declared by Nike.
