Man, you posted this video 10 days before I decided to service this exact fork that's been sitting in my basement for a few months. Great timing and thank you!

@@RetroRebuilds By the way, I think that the Enduro RS Mag Fork Seal Kit will also work for these Future Shock forks: www.enduroforkseals.com/products/front-suspension/enduro-classic-fork-seals/FSKRSMAG.html

Wonder if you could think of a method to remove the oil seals without blowing off the legs with air pressure? Rockshox has proprietary tools for this from the era but modern more readily-available tools would be a better investment. There's a multitude of seal pullers and bearing puller tools on the market but I am uncertain which ones would work for this specific fork (and yes, this fork is a rebadge of the Rockshox Mag series forks from the 90's namely the Mag 20/21 series).

I blow off the lowers usually so I can clean the insides when they need cleaning and to replace the oil as well it’s not that much of a hassle for me

Make sure to check the description for links to all products and kits related to this fork. Some products may be released after I post the video, but I’ll update them as soon as I can. Thanks

I purchased a 1992 Stumpjumper in 1993 that I still have today and ride! The shock however is completely bottomed out. Does it simply need more air pressure? My dad has a similar year Rockhopper and lent me his original air shock pump made for the future shock. It's a small plastic syringe with gauge and needle that I assume just inserts beneath the screw of the adjustable nob at the top of each shock. Is that right. I'll probably try it tomorrow morning and see if airing up the shock improves my situation. Also, I've never lost any lube from the shock so I assume it's all still there from 30 years ago!

That’s incredible! Yes you stick the needle into the hole under the small screw just make sure to lube the needle with oil or spit and make sure not to lose the little seal under it. Good luck!

Hi. I was just watching this video because i am rebuilding an old stump jumper. My fork still looks quite good - but it is missing one of the o rings underneath the tiny screws on top. Do you by any chance know the exact size of them? I tried to measure them, but my measurements seem to be a bit odd - unless its not a metric one (I got 6.5 x 2.8 (?) x 1.6 mm). so the nearest fit would be a 6 or 7 x 1.5 mm one)...
    Great Video !

Thanks! Not sure what the size of them are they’re just to keep our dirt from the air hole so it’s good to have them. You can try using one of those rubber cable o rings for frame protectors if you have them they should be a similar size. Good luck!

@@RetroRebuilds Ahh! I thought they were kind of essential for keeping the air in. The cable o rings are a great idea. Will try that right now. This is what I really love about rebuilding bikes - you learn new stuff all the time; and the community is so kind. Thank you!

Thanks for the video, I followed the process as in your video. However when I popped the lowers off, I found a small brass lock nut and a large O ring in the bottoms of the lowers with the oil on both sides. In your video it dosnt look like your forks had these parts. Any idea what they are from? Thanks again.

You just leave those alone unless the bushings are badly worn

Try to search for something from the Mid 90’s like a Judy just make sure not to go over 80mm of travel because that would overload the frame. Just make sure the steer tube width and length are the same. You could also swap the headset for a threadless one to have some more options for late 90’s forks. Lmk if you have any more questions
