Quick fyi: Yesterdays video was unwatchable for those who are hearin impaired like myself. Every time Japanese was spoken it blocked the embedded captions with youtubes captions sayin, unnecessarily, "Person speaking foreign language" and similar
That makes a vid less watchable bcuz now i either have to turn captions on and off every time it switches to showin clips of the anime, or i just have no idea whats bein said bcuz my captions block the captions that wud give me that info... As someone felt i rly needed to know that they were spkin a foreign language, but not WHAT they were sayin
Prof captioners are usually trained Not to do this stuff, but abled folk who dont know any better are the exact type to caption stuff like this and think theyre bein helpful 9,9
Its not helpful, it makes the vids unwatchable; pls fix this so i can enjoy your vids

Martyrdom. If they send Trump to jail for something that isn't as objectively damning (such as contempt of court, compared to insurrection), they're afraid it will radicalize his fanbase into violent action. Thus they will let all those things slide as long as they can pin the evidence-laden objective crimes onto him.
Not sure it's the right way to go about handling him, but it's not a pretty choice either way.

It is so wild to me that for all of Trump's cases, the prosecution literally has to write a thesis for things as minor as "please don't allow this guy to endanger people's lives" and all Trump does in response is say "lol no check my socials and get doxxed nerd" and then we watch the most absurd false equivalency in history play out as the legal system weighs the two "arguments."
It's like if me and my brother were trying to convince our parents that the other one was the one who ate cookies when we weren't supposed to... and I brought receipts, photos, video recordings, audio recordings, a literally forensic analyst, text messages, social media posts and more... meanwhile my brother just argues "lol nah it wasn't me it was you"... and our parents deliberate over who did it for weeks after the fact.

Mhmmm you read too much into it, you see the reason people are bothered by the Gag order is because when it comes to criminal charges it's basically you vs the US government with all of their money and powers and so the 1st amendment is literally the only way you can protect yourself against possible government corruption. Imagine you were put on trial for reckless driving/negligent homicide because you were involved in a car crash where a person was killed as a result of you loosing control of your vehicle. You go to court ready to make your case that it wasn't your fault as there was oil slick on the road and it was raining which caused you to loose control but you find out that the Judge presiding over the case has a nephew that was friends with the person you killed and that the person that died was a relation to one of the prosecutor's work collogues and that the judge and prosecutor know each other fairly well. You try to get the judge to recuse himself but he's like ''naw I'm not biased at all in this case'' so you try and speak out about the corruption only the judge says ''naw, gag order because reasons''.
Many courts have stated that gag orders should only be issued in cases to protect another's individual rights and that it should be subjected to a balancing test ie (Is this persons right to free speech greater/more important than the persons right he is violating by speaking) and that the gag order should be as narrowly tailored as possible. This gag order is a direct contradiction to those prior rulings, this is a general gag order and has been issued without anyone showing cause for the ruling to be issued in the first place, nobody has presented a case to a judge saying ''well because trump said XXX so person's XXX rights were violated (With a quote as to which amendment was violated and an explanation as to what way it was violated)'' Instead the prosecution just said ''gag him because he's speaking out against witnesses and it's scaring them because other people who aren't trump are making threats'' and the Judge just said ''Ok''.
We have laws against threatening people so just go after whoever is making threats, you can't hold what one person says accountable for the actions of everyone who heard him speak but apparently that's what's happening and now we have a situation where witnesses in the case are allowed to speak out against Trump on the media and Trump isn't allowed to respond to those allegations or defend himself in public which in a trial would taint the jury pool to be more anti trump since all they've heard are negative things about trump because he hasn't been allowed to speak out and defend himself.

How hasn't Trump been publicly dressed down for these antics, he should be immediately in county jail for contempt of court. If ANYONE else acted like this in court, and I mean anyone they would instantly removed and be spending 30 days in jail until another court date is organised. And the Judge would smugly ask him "if he learned to behave now?". This is setting an outrageously bad example and embarrassing the Court system.

OK, I'm Irish, from Dublin, and I'm following all this drama about Trump. I honestly can't believe how in the world he can get away with this. We once had a Taoiseach (Prime Minister) who was similar to Trump but he was drummed out and disowned once his corrupt dealings (which were not nearly as heinous as what Trump is alleged of as doing) were even hinted at. I wish I was isolated from the consequences of a new Trump presidency but with the Right in the UK drooling for Trump to come back to power, thinking they will get a free pass from the US to do as they please and with them being pretty reckless with the peace on my island, I can only pray that our American friends not bring this madman back at the helm of the US. Unfortunately, the reality is that a lot of these people grew up watching Fox and treat everything coming from Fox and Trump as absolute fact without doing any research of their own (or at least not strenuous research, more "research" by listening to podcasts that are simply more of the same and calling it definitive evidence). You also have to remember that a lot of these people, either on purpose or by circumstance, have surrounded themselves with people who are just as committed to Trump as they are. Their conversations around politics view Democrats: bad, Conservatives who don't like Trump: bad, Trump: good. Their social media is full of opinion pieces and memes surrounding the incompetency of literally everyone else that isn't Trump. It's hard to clear your eyes and worldview of that when that's all you see.
Another problem with this cult (and yes, I lump everyone completely and wholly devoted to Trump as a member of his cult) is that the harder you protest and shove facts in their face, the harder they cling to their ideals and close themselves off from literally everyone else because of their supposed "persecution". It's a tough cycle.
I don't understand why anyone can be so bamboozled by him, but that doesn't change the reality. I think they view him like another Teddy Roosevelt, which he is very decidedly NOT EVEN CLOSE. That guy has no moral compass or sense of morality period. If it doesn't serve him and his giant ego, then it doesn't matter to him. That guy will literally destroy democracy before admitting any kind of actual fault or responsibility. It's exhausting.
Y'all got room for a family of seven? (I say mostly jokingly. My husband leans more conservative, even if he thinks Trump is an absolute joke too, so he definitely would never be on board with that *sigh*)

A 1000 dollar fine is not a punishment for an individual like trump or really any millionaire.
In finland they have a system in place where fines are based on something called a "day income". Essentially what you do is calculate how much money the fined individual is making per day and then the fine is not "X amount of money" but "X day incomes". This ensures that a fine does hurt no matter how wealthy an individual is while also ensuring that the fine does not financially ruin the individual no matter how poor the individual is. This has among other things resulted in one of the highest speeding ticket ever issued (121.000€) for a millionaire driving 30kmh over the speedlimit.

The judge should consider holding Trump's lawyers personally responsible for Trump's conduct. They theoretically know what proper behaviour in a court is. Trump is a man who has pioneered the art of winning by losing. These are gambles, but with no real stakes for him. If the intimidation nets him a win than thats that, but if the intimidation makes him lose harder then its more fuel for his alarmist fire. And in hindsight it shouldn't have been a surprise, hes don't it for years and its his same philosophy for business as well. Its how he claims to be the best business man while filing for bankruptcy and how he can claim with absolute confidence he won an election while begging people to find votes for him. He will always have someone in his corner willing to kill for him... and boy do I wish that was just a figure of speech...

Sorry, but I don't connect a police officer's actions to words said. Freedom of Speech isn't the same as Freedom of Action. Actions ALWAYS have consequences (whether good or bad, such as me deciding to eat ice cream for breakfast). Freedom of Speech has legal limitations, but there are wildly different types consequences for what you say, when, where, and how. You could say something that has no consequence (such as saying you love ice cream for breakfast), or you can threaten someone's life at work and thus have your guns taken away, lose your job, and have criminal consequences because you are proving to be a danger to others through words alone.

    • @jnagarya519

      @@Chihirolee3 Exactly.
Those who focus exclusively on the claim that Trump is simply exercising his freedom of speech are those who attack the messenger in order to avoid and ignore the message.
Trump isn't attacking the evidence; he is attacking the messenger in effort to shout down the message. Attacking the witnesses in effort to shout down their substantiated testimony.
Some don't know the difference; but many Trump defenders adopt the same tactic -- instead of respecting the rights of the persons attacked -- the right not to be targeted by Trump's incitements of violence -- the falsely claim, by implication., that Trump has the right to incite death threats and violence against his critics.
Our system of laws is based on a balancing interests -- Trump's right of free speech is only one interest; the other is the right not to be subjected to verbal abuse and incitements of death threats and violence. To reject that foundation is to reject the rule of law, which is indefensible.
