Hello Debina, it’s totally normal for the babies to suffer with mild jaundice. One tip for you to follow… sit with your baby in sunlight for atleast half n hour and remember sunlight should not fall ur baby’s face, just middle body and legs. It will help a lot for sure.

I got discharged on 7th August late evening and again I got admitted with my baby on 12th August. As his jaundice level was 18.5. After 24 hrs of phototherapy his level reduced to 9.5. The same incident happened with my daughter but as she was born back then in 2020 when the pandemic was in its peak ; the worst part for me was I was not allowed to get admitted in the hospital and only she was there for 24 hrs . Newborn jaundice is totally different from adult jaundice where direct bilirubin is more than normal range and affects liver. But for newborn indirect bilirubin is more than normal range,and it is happened to most of the children,so don't worry about it! Sunlight is the best treatment . I am from Kerala . Everyone in Kerala , after the baby is born daily we give them some sunlight by just taking them to the balcony or where there’s sunlight
Please note : only during sunrise because it mild and safe for babies

My daughter also had jaundice when she was born . I really feel babies after phototherapy become extremely intelligent ..

The same incident happened with my daughter but as she was born back then in 2020 when the pandemic was in its peak ; the worst part for me was I was not allowed to get admitted in the hospital and only she was there for 24 hrs . The most scary incident of my life ! And your story is exactly same as mine . The same thing happened with us. We came back home and then my lil one was detected with jaundice . And fortunately, my baby was exactly like yours, too calm during the treatment

My son too had 17. He was under the light for 72 hours. Whenever he use to cry, I too cried too with him :( he was crying continuously.. One of the painful thing a new mom can handle..

Newborn jaundice is totally different from adult jaundice where direct bilirubin is more than normal range and affects liver. But for newborn indirect bilirubin is more than normal range,and it is happened to most of the children,so don't worry about it! That's why in older days our grandparents always instructed to keep newborn on morning sunlight though they don't know the reason 😃wish best wishes for ur baby 😘

Hi Debina, I am really happy to know that baby has recovered quickly. I being a mother of a 2yewr old can totally understand your condition. Just wanted to ask out of curiosity whether you had a normal delivery or a C section, coz I took almost 6 months to recover but you seem to have gained back all your energy within a few weeks
Nowadays in C section mothers recovers in 3-4 days max 1 wk though till 6 months heavy weight lifting is banned..
