I love Lou Wilson so much. I love the pure tenacity he brings to committing to bits. Brennan said "Lose control of a bodily function in front of someone" and, as Siobhan pointed out, he could have replied "Throw up in front of my adventuring party" but he said "Poop my pants both in class and onto my teacher." Brennan did not say the poop had to go on someone. He added that part. Incredible roleplaying choice, so powerful.
Yeah man. His top notch humor is improvised poop joke. He's definitely one of the best out There.
But for real lou is cool I like him better than most on their squad.
But still if your going to talk highly on a dudes humor or whatever try to aim for higher than s poop joke yanno.
@@illerhumpy3867 You see my good fellow, nowhere in the comment above did they actually mention the humour or funniness of the choice of roleplay that Lou committed to. They were showing their admiration for Lou and praising his willingness to put himself and his character in a categorically much worse place than he needs to, solely for the purpose of dedicated roleplay and memorable entertainment. Had he simply barfed in front of the other intrepid heroes it wouldn't have been much of a moment, but projectile pooping onto his teacher leading to a student quitting school and renouncing their dreams forever, is, though perhaps not the peak of humour, a much more memorable moment in my humble opinion.
@@illerhumpy3867The point isn’t “haha poop funny”, the point is Lou chose to make the curse manifest in a situation with actual risks/consequences, rather than letting his character get off easy, so that the curse can actually have some sort of narrative or character impact rather than just be a throwaway bit.
Brennan said "bodily function", not "bodily fluid." Lou could have taken it literally instead of as a euphemism, and just sneezed or gotten the hiccups. Maybe he got a cramp in his leg, or gained a level of exhaustion because he couldn't sleep for a night.
It didn't have to be gross, it didn't have to be absolutely disgusting and a big mess.
No one commits to a roll, good or bad, like Lou.

Once the rage mechanic (5 levels of stress) was explained to me and this kid went off, it instantly clicked that every student has the same mechanic. Poor guy hit 5 levels of stress.
I don’t think it’s that suspicious, actually. The PC’s are assuming they’re the only ones being affected by the stress mechanic. All these NPC’s must be more or equally stressed.
If some guy got an A+ while deficating on a teacher, I'd be pisses too lmao

First the bee lady freaked out when they didn’t like her honey, then that soil kid freaked out when he smelled the soil, now Quincy is freaking out and quitting. I think the rage is spreading very fast and very subtly
And Skrank from AV club! He freaked out at Fabian about not eating worms, I know he's kind of a jerk anyway but his reaction seemed angrier than usual

There's a very thin line between Ally's "I do this for a bit and I'm fully committing to it because it'd be funnier to fall 10 stories going for an impossible acrobatic maneuver with -3 dex", and Lou's "this is not a bit, this is exactly what would happen if I'm trusting my dedication to my character". It's a very thin, almost imperceptible line, but I'm sure it's there somewhere.

Beardsley and Lou are both insane. Fabian's Fall changed the way I played the game, as both a player and a DM
Lou simultaneously impresses me and freaks me out with his decisions. He seems to enjoy nothing more than setting Fabian up with as great an ego as possible before having it crash down even harder.
I swear the guy cannot let Fabian KEEP a win. He will let Fabian GET a win. Several even. But he does not keep them.

Brennan is a genius of social engineering, when he set up the 'bodily functions' bit you automatically expect the NPCs to give an outrageous reaction but there is something violently more cringe about the teacher trying to immediately excuse inexcusable behavior rather than acknowledge the social blunder for what it is

That isn't cringe at all, in my opinion. Fabian's bodily malfunction is cringe-inducingly socially isolating, but the teacher firmly stating that he shouldn't be ostracised for this one-off freak accident is incredibly sweet.
This event doesn't speak to the quality of Fabian's character, only alluding to potential health issues, but in a stereotypical high school setting it could realistically destroy his social standing. The educator immediately stepping in to contextualize the circumstances and mitigate harm is ideal caretaking.
Fabian has helped save the world multiple times, killed the backup principal, became maximum legend, AND is the future of dance.
I think Quincy can cut him some slack
From how it seemed Quincy may have been affected by the rage stars in some way, along with the cursed bardic from Fig to Fabian.

He could have said his legs gave out and that would have caused the destruction of the classroom somehow, but man Lou really chose the worst possible thing Fabian could do.
In Adventuring Party, Zac pointed out that Brennan gave Lou some amount of control as to what happened. Lou said , essentially, yes, but Brennan knows the kind of choices of big choices he makes.
Lou always swings for the fences role-play. I respect that.

moleman was only the second to react like that though, and gertie wasn't even on school grounds so that's less to pick up on (ie maybe she's just like that). the patterns just beginning baby I can't wait to see more (it will hurt me physically)

I loved this so much oh my gosh- I absolutely lost it during this entire episode, but particularly during this moment. The way Lou plays Fabian is amazing because he is the coolest guy in the group (and we believe it) AND he fails in the most spectacular ways. He leans into failures with double nat one energy and I fucking love it 😂😂

Going back to this near the finale is so good, not just because of the scene, but because Brennan takes it as a chance to add another rage-filled interaction that players may remember later as the plot unfolds. I'm so impressed by that.

One thing I will say about Lou is he always takes big swings and really commits to what his character Would Do even if it's something Awful for him

Watching the glee on Brennans face as a party fully understands, engages and strategizes around his mechanics and NPCs is something all DMs hope for.

I mean, I'd be fully raging at that circumstance by itself but by no means would I attack the campus and drop out of Bard School. That's not what bards do. A real bard would have seduced that turd. The BBEG of this season is causing characters to fly into an uncontrollable rage. The tokens are there to keep track of who's been impacted the most at a glance.
They're using a homebrew downtime system with stress mechanics. If you get too much stress you get a rage token and permanently ruin a relationship
There's a big focus on the passage of time in this campaign. You still go to major story beats and set pieces, but there are eps in-between that simulate the weeks of grinding work to get to those new moments. To really feel the intensity of it, they're essentially playing 2 different games this campaign where "down-time" uses the characters' D&D skills but with heightened stakes with stress and rage tokens that act as permanent debuffs essentially

my first impression of lou was in a rando video and i hadn’t seen him speak yet. my immediate thought was “this guy looks like a shit i’m not gonna like him.” and then he opened his mouth introduced himself (SAME NAME TWIN 🤞) and told ONE joke and i was hooked.
Are the Bad Kids like the Study Group in "Community"...? Do the other kids at Aguefort perceive the Bad Kids as getting special treatment from the school adminstrators because they're the main characters?
