This is a DEEP cut. One of my favorite Aaliyah songs. Not to mention the BRILLIANCE of Missy Elliot and Timbaland.
It’s the perfect blend of quintessential 90s pop funk r&b vibes tied together with insane vocals.
I remember watching the music video and thinking Aaliyah was the coolest woman I had ever seen. I asked my mom for leather pants, which she refused to get me (I think 10 year old me would’ve ROCKED THEM)
Doing these covers has always been a way to connect with that joy and to honor the artists that created these amazing songs.

No one will ever replace Aaliyah- she was an incredible artist and vocalist, and her music and voice still inspire me on a regular basis.
