Harry Nicholas - Yes. He was my favorite singer/songwriter/performer in the 70s along with Joni Mitchell. Get the rerelease of Tea For The Tillerman, there is another fantastic live version of this, and others of his catalogue.
I love this song!! He sings with such incredible deep emotion, revealing his beauty, love, sweetness and sincerity. This is my favorite song, and Cat is my favorite ever musician.
I’m on that road. Walked 5,839 miles so far. Found a little danger, found some cool shit, found magic, and found humans who shown me their wings and halos... every day. I also found out: Don’t let Fear or Hate make you so afraid that you dim your Light. Shine on. Be fearless and choose love.
Love a bit of cat Stevens, reminds me of a pair of junkie's I used to hang out with in my idiot days, both dead now sadly, I heard "where do the children play" first at their home, blew me away, must have only been 21, I'm now 47 , I hate time 🙄
I've realized that alot of music has a greek sound to it . He did mention that too.. and I've been really hearing it ~ His voice is as good now as it was then! ty for sharing Neil
I love cats music. I feel he died when he became yusof Islam. He said the answer lies within pick up the good book which is the bible, he hasn't done that. should have gone to mount Athos and speak with the monks there. Would have given proper spiritual guidance. I feel his thrown the pearl to the swines. He gave up his Christian orthodox faith for that false counterfit religion. The only way is christ . no christ no salvation. l pray that God will enlightened him. the wide road leads to distruction , the narrow leads to salvation

Lyrics: Well I left my happy home To see what I could find out I left my folk and friends With the aim to clear my mind out Well I hit the rowdy road And many kinds I met there And many stories told me on the way to get there So on and on I go, the seconds tick the time out So much left to know, and I'm on the road to find out In the end I'll know But on the way I wonder Through descending snow And through the frost and thunder I listen to the wind come howl Telling me I have to hurry I listen to the robin's song Saying not to worry So on, and on I go, the seconds tick the time out So much left to know, and I'm on the road to find out Well I found myself alone Hoping someone would miss me Thinking about my home and the last woman to kiss me Well sometimes you have to moan When nothing seems to suit you But never the less you know Your locked towards the future So off and on you go, the seconds tick the time out There's so much left to know and I'm on the road to find out And I found my head one day When I wasn't even trying And here I have to say Cause there is no use in lying, lying Yes the answer lies within So why not take a look now Kick out the devils sin Pickup, pickup a good book now Yes the answer lies within So why not take a look now Kick out the devils sin Pickup, pickup a good book now Yes the answer lies within So why not take a look now Kick out the devils sin Pickup, pickup a good book now Thank you for posting this version 🙏😊
Maggie-Rose Veri He's actually touring again. Like so many icons of our youth and us ourselves, the years have worn a little but he's doing all the greats.
Sometimes, when walking a new & unfamiliar road, the road of life, one can trip & fall and sometimes it takes decades to heal. I hope such will be the case with Cat. It would be wonderful to have him back in that world, the world of the living. †
@Corona Covid I know. But that was way after the first time he was singing this song. He was always spiritual. Quran made him stronger than he ever was.
This song changed my life thank you
It's been a long time since I listened to this, he really has a hypnotic voice don't he?

Incredible when a performer sounds just as good live as on a studio recording.

Lyrics:
Well I left my happy home
To see what I could find out
I left my folk and friends
With the aim to clear my mind out
Well I hit the rowdy road
And many kinds I met there
And many stories told me on the way to get there
So on and on I go, the seconds tick the time out
So much left to know, and I'm on the road to find out
In the end I'll know
But on the way I wonder
Through descending snow
And through the frost and thunder
I listen to the wind come howl
Telling me I have to hurry
I listen to the robin's song
Saying not to worry
So on, and on I go, the seconds tick the time out
So much left to know, and I'm on the road to find out
Well I found myself alone
Hoping someone would miss me
Thinking about my home and the last woman to kiss me
Well sometimes you have to moan
When nothing seems to suit you
But never the less you know
Your locked towards the future
So off and on you go, the seconds tick the time out
There's so much left to know and I'm on the road to find out
And I found my head one day
When I wasn't even trying
And here I have to say
Cause there is no use in lying, lying
Yes the answer lies within
So why not take a look now
Kick out the devils sin
Pickup, pickup a good book now
Yes the answer lies within
So why not take a look now
Kick out the devils sin
Pickup, pickup a good book now
Yes the answer lies within
So why not take a look now
Kick out the devils sin
Pickup, pickup a good book now

Still
Justin Hayward is the lead singer of the Moody Blues.
Yes me too lol 45 years on
This song I think is about his changing his religion to the Muslim faith. It's beautiful I just love his songs.
Is it my computer or the sound is very very low?
I think it is very low, yep.
not just you
The answer does lie within.
........”pick-up The Good Book now!!!”
YUSUF FOUND HIS ROAD THATS WHY WE HEAR NO MORE FROM HIM
what is he doing now?

This is the time when he was struggling between Christianity and Islam.
Was he introduced to Islam in 1971? I think he learnt about Islam later
@Corona Covid I know. But that was way after the first time he was singing this song. He was always spiritual. Quran made him stronger than he ever was.
Can't hear it!
hOW OLD WAS THE cAT IN 1971 ?
23-24
no sound at all
On the road to Islam so many years ago. Who knew?
The guitar in this sounds nothing like The Beatles Blackbird recorded what two years before :-)
There is certainly no use in lying
What do you think that last line means? Lying?
THere is certainly no use in lying to oneself
