    I work for a scoop biz, one time scoops are over $100 here, & we lease a dumpster & keep it in a storage yard pretty cheap...most customers want the poop hauled away. All good tho, hope u become a poop millionaire...🤘

    You're a hard worker and you're thankful, even though your pay is low..You could make more driving people or food around and still have freedom and not deal with poop messes. But you do it anyway . I've done things like garden tilling as a young person, about $40-50 for 30 minutes of work. Paid off the total business cost, $500 investment in the tiller quickly. But there are so many ideas out there.

    Great video! I had $1000 to start my business About two years ago. My biggest expense was putting a cargo trailer and hitch on the back of my Chevy cobalt. Was a rough start, but things are going much better now.
    I kept my budget tight, kept my routing tight, and now up to a little over 100 weekly customers. We don’t offer multiple weekly scoops yet, but hoping to get into that soon.

    You are legit a HUGE inspiration to me. I have been researching this industry and contemplating starting a business of my own for a couple weeks now. I ended up talking myself out of it a few times, so seeing your videos has definitely helped me. Ironically enough I live in Bloomington, IN and that makes it even more realistic for me. I currently make $50,000/yr at a 9-5 job that I hate. I have to in order to support my family however. I am so happy things are going well for you and your business. There definitely seems to be TONS of opportunity for success.
    When you first started your business did you register it as a Sole Proprietor or LLC before doing any business? I was looking into the cost associated with doing so here in Indiana. I also did not know if there were any licenses and or certifications required; from what I saw there wasn't. I considered purchasing a license to solicit business but I am assuming you generated all of your business from social media and or word of mouth referrals, and if that's the case I should probably save the money.
    If you have ANY more tips or advice I'd love to hear. You may have some friendly competition up here in Bloomington, IN sometime soon ;)

    • @scooppros420
      @scooppros420  5 лет назад +1

      Hey Dillan!
      I am really happy that I could give you some inspiration! I would definitely recommend starting it up. As long as you put in the work and stay patient you will be fine. If I were you I would make sure you have enough money saved to be able to quit and do this full time.
      I also worked 40 hours per week at a 9-5. Now I work around 15-18 hours per week and make double what I made working full time! In Indiana you don't need any special certifications. I would just make sure you get your business licensed.
      I would love to help you out some more. I drive through Bloomington all the time on my way to Indianapolis! I would love to hear how your business comes along. Send me an email with any other questions you may have! scoopprosllc@gmail.com
      Have a good night!

    • @dillanhawkins5430
      @dillanhawkins5430 5 лет назад +2

      Thanks for the response! I definitely am wondering if it is possible to start the business before quitting my job. I can imagine that it will require my time and there would be conflicts with overlap.
      I will definitely register the LLC. It's just trying to calculate how much I should have saved before beginning this journey. I am unsure of what I can expect to earn and how quickly. I'd have to calculate living expenses for and save accordingly.
      Yeah, if you are ever traveling through Bloomington reach out to me and we can meet! @@scooppros420

    This is something to maybe consider in the Dallas, TX ball parking some figures that I have each month based on the $3,000 you’re making.
    Rent: $1,650
    Utilities w/tv services, phone, etc: $450
    Car insurance w/gas: $150 (car paid for) thankfully
    Food (if I don’t eat out 😞): $200 entire month
    Which totals to, let’s say, $2,300-$2,500 depending on utilities and driving (gas prices). That leaves me with up to $500, again depending on the month so play with. If you’re going to go into this business, look at everything you have now and estimate how much you’ll need to make per month to sustain that lifestyle. If you make more, awesome but at least the minimum amount.

The last place I worked for was Amazon and they treated me horribly. The checks were great but I was suffering mentally and physically working for them. Other corporations are the same ( they treat you like an object or a piece of machinery.) I have also been on my own for many years. I don't have a family or a friend I could lean on so it's been really rough . . but I've become stronger. Beautiful apartment. I'm living in a hotel/suite. Can't wait to get my own place.

    There is even franchises for this type of business in fact that’s how I noticed the business to start with . I was on the major job search site indeed and I came across a scoop soldiers job posting and it was for like 15 dollars an hour. I even applied but I think the job posting was kinda old and most likely filled. It did spark in my brain about why not be the business owner instead of an employee and I would make a lot more money. This business might not be the most glamorous but it checks off a lot of the boxes. It’s low cost to start and low cost to run and you don’t have to learn some skill set that takes 6 months to learn like coding or something. Even the franchises are a lot cheaper than other franchises. I like the franchise model because I wouldn’t be in business by myself. The one I’m looking at I think even has a call center where they help you get more customers and I think they even give you crm (customer relationship management) software and website to help manage your business.
    I don’t want a job I want a business because you can grow a business you can’t grow a job. I might have to work up to getting the franchise because it does cost a few thousand dollars. Start off as independent and then work up to it. If this works out hopefully I can get me a Ford Maverick hybrid so then I have a work truck and stop racking up miles on personal vehicle. You want the Ford Maverick hybrid because it can get up to 42 miles a gallon which is a huge plus in a service based industry with constant driving. Ford thought it out and geared their truck towards the frugal (careful with money type) and if you go just base model no bells and whistles it will be about 20 thousand. If you go to their top of line model it’s still around 35 thousand (I think ) . It looks like a neat little truck and watch some videos on people reviewing it and see what you think 🤔

    • @scooppros420
      @scooppros420  4 года назад +1

      Hey Keith! Great questions. And I appreciate you taking the time to watch the videos!
      1) Winter doesn't change much and I actually retained many of my customers. Dogs don't stop pooping when its cold haha. You may lose a few but they usually come back.
      2) You want to charge based on the value you provide and how you market yourself. I'd keep your prices lower initially until you are more established.
      3) That all depends on your lifestyle. For me I needed to replace at least $1500 a month before I quit. Which was about 30 customers. You also have to consider the fact that it takes way less time than a normal job to make the same amount. I made $3800 per month in only 25 hours of work. You could do a side hustle as well to supplement your income.
      Hope all that helps!

      @@lisamariott5658 good question! The only reason for me selling is that I was simply tired of being stuck in my hometown. I needed a way out and my business was the perfect opportunity to fund me leaving. If I could've took the business with me I would've in a heartbeat! I loved it and miss it a lot.

      @@scooppros420 congrats on the sale, it may be intrusive to ask but out of curiosity how much in foward earnings did you sell for?

    How do you get business? Facebook ads, door to door, walking in businesses? I'm currently running some Facebook ads but wanting to drive more business.
