- We take the new Nanlux Evoke 900C on an editorial shoot, and get the gold seal tour of the 2400B at Nanlux Americas in Los Angeles. We test both lights output and run through their key features.

That output is remarkable. You could run three of these at full power by running two off a Honda genny and one off a dryer plug. Basically you’d have three m40s with only one small generator. But even the numbers from the 20 amp plug are great. This will be a game changer for small operators with limited space in their trucks.
Agreed! I'm super impressed (legit - not being hyperbolic)
Thanks so much for this great overview! I've been using Aputure for a little while now but especially with these higher output fixtures, it feels like Nanlux is starting to have a better array of options available.
Is Nanlite planning on making any 300C's or 500C's? I have all Nanlites and really do not need a 900C for it's weight and cost, but I have been eyeing the Amaran 300C's bc they are rather cheap and just about all the power I need and willing to move from set to set with easily...
Awsome!
Thanks!
Looks great, but curious as to why are the controls still on the lamp itself and not the ballast..
I can’t speak to Nanlite’s design motivations but for one - In a DC setting you don’t need the ballast. With more and more battery based generators, this reduces the equipment required. Beyond that, most operate these fixtures either with the NANLINK app or with DMX. So the location of controls are becoming less and less an issue.
Great thanks for posting this, im wondering how powerful the 2400w is at full power
Probably 10% greater than my readings.
Can the 2400b be used safely with the fresnel for the 1200 evoke?
I believe that Jeremy told me that it will "work" but that they are making a special fresnel for it. It may be ready now, in fact. The 1200 Fresnel is not optimized for the beam of the 2400 - so it's not likely going to give you the control and output of the dedicated fresnel. But it will "work".
