How they work is you have an app you download onto your phone and the lightstick syncs up with the app using bluetooth. When you go to a concert or show, you put your seating location into the app. It will then sync up your lightstick and based on where you're seated at different times during the concert it will turn different colors or change how the light pulses. I'm glad Payton was so excited, but I missed hearing Justin's comments on the song and I don't think Payton appreciated this beautiful song either. You guys need to find a balance so that both observations are heard. Maybe listen first and then comment.
9:51 All of those lights are called ARMY bombs. It's like a light up ball on top of a black stick, which you hold. It can change colors. It's for us fans.
I REALLLYYY love watching you both! i majored in media and communication so i appreciate all the important things payton notices in the production and i have a passion for singing and i took vocal lessons back then so i also love hearing justin's insight on everything~ i love it when you guys react and comment on their performances in a professional pov 💞 feels like i'm geeking out and with you guys!
I disagree with what you are saying about the planets and lights! In the concert. The guy, Namjoon, that made the star with his finger makes a whole bunch of stuff with his finger and you can see it from the side and you can watch him drawing it. He is behind it and you can see it from the audience! I will send you a link!
Ohh in their tour show they use holograms for that effect, this time was pre-recorded and that effects was in the postproducción, bc they are preparing the next performance meanwhile, watch next perfom, they pre-recorded water stage, horses stage, and others stages was live, just wait for next 😉
He did the same thing in the Rose Bowl concert! He drew hearts and swirls, and the glow just followed his fingers! How can they do that live? I've been wondering the same thing. Maybe Peyton can tell us how this is possible.
In this reaction, I just laugh bcs justin enjoy with the bangtan's vocal and payton amazed with effect's performance and payton always say "ah? Wait? Hold on?" and then pause the video. And justin like "come on man, I'm enjoying they're vocal" LOL
In a korean shows they pre record some parts but it’s usually the same day so early plus the audience come early too.. they love to go coz they can have a lot of time to see the artists they want and usually the artist talk to the audience during breaks and sometimes the artists buy the entire audience lunch with their own money to show appreciation for waiting too long
I think that you guys are the most professional reviewers of BTS I ever saw... A vocal guy...A film producer... You only need a choreographer and you’re good
BTS usually has at least 1 prerecorded song or segment, before their stage w the most elaborate props ! It gives them time to change and for the venue and staff to put the stage together. A lot of the time they will still go on stage for the live audience and perform or dance, while the prerecorded performance is broadcasted !
Mikrokosmos (this song) is about the bts army universe where we all shine like stars together. It’s also the last song they wrap up the concerts with and this show was filmed after the Speak Yourself Final tour in Seoul which was super emotional for fans, bts as it marked the end of the Love Yourself tour and album era. So that’s why V (Taehyung) was looking so fondly at the army, they always have that look in the end of that song where they are enjoying but taking in every second of that atmosphere in their memory. It’s truly special, and if you watch the Final concert broadcast you will see how beautiful and emotional it was for them and army! :) Love your reactions! And every insight you both brought out specially the technical side of filming, vocals everything!!!
12:15 that was so funny how justin was enjoying listening to the vocals and at the same time there's payton so engrossed and confused in the filming technique like wtf just happened 😂😂
Payton is tooo looud.. I was enjoying looking at Justin's reaction to our Bangtan's voice but this guy here is obsessed with the filming. Dear brother just watch the video again!!!!!!!! ENJOY THEIR VOICES!
BTS fan light stick, called the ARMY bomb, can be controlled through bluetooth, and it also corresponds to an app that enables “concert mode” where you plug in you seating details so that the lighting operators can control each individual lightstick. Hope that helps
What you're watching is a mix of live and prerecorded performances. This is what everyone streaming the show saw. Ex: recording/streamer view- Rm performed in front of the grafitti set. Audience view- They played the recording on the big screens and he performed alongside it just without the grafitti set. Ex: In the dionysus intro, the recording/streamer view had horses. Audience view- they did the same intro w/o the horses and the recording with the horses played on the big screens. You can compare this video with the fancams to figure out what's what. Yes, I'm posting this on every video. 🤣
Tachibana Hitoshi when they prerecorded it, they did sing it live. When it was broadcasted, they didn’t edit their vocals or anything. So yes, they are still singing if that’s what you mean
@@afizdi5543 many things I didn't notice before this because we don't have the knowledge like these guys.. so its quite interesting watching their reactions and get to know so many things..
12:30 Payton: Wait, where did the screen go? (Being in his nature) Justin: (Admiring Jimin's highnote and the whole song well obviously) It's hilarious to watch them both
For the whole performance , i should say : The first part of " persona" was pre-recorded The second part of " persona" + boy in luv+ boy with love were live . Mikrokosmos was pre-recorded . Some of their solo performances were pre-recorded . The dionysus intro( with horses ) was pre-recorded . The whole dionysus performance was live . They do pre-recordings because they have to change outfits quickly . Thanks for reacting to bts .
Payton, Prerecorded stages are sometimes still recorded with a live audience. They do it just for time for prep. They utilized the same technology used at the Olympics and had Disney tech graphics utilized as well. The Saturn planet above them were actually a grouping of drones and the planets were projections and orbs and the BTS light sticks are bluetooth controlled but the entire crowd are not BTS fans with light sticks. I have attended their concerts and saw some of this stuff live. I have seen some pretty amazing ar achieved LIVE. The drones are amazing.
If it helps, the Mikrokosmos part was pre-recorded to allow BTS to change and get ready for Dionysus. In general, for the bigger groups that get to do more that two or three songs, they will pre-record one or two performances to allow them time to change, catch their breath, touch up makeup, etc etc.
12:15 Payton: Wait what? I'm so disoriented, did the screen raise? Wait and they're doing planets? What? huh??!!! Justin: *Enjoying the music without a care in the world*
I really love hearing your viewpoints about bts. I follow other vocal coaches who are more opera centric, but you are legit a pop vocal coach! I love how you route for Jin!
the glowstick thing that peyton was talking about is a lightstick. almost every kpop group that has a big fandom has a lightstick. in bts' case, their lighstick is named army bomb. the current selling version has a bluetooth feature and usually they have a booth where you go and connect your lightstick to their bluetooth and then you leave it on and the lighting staff will control your lightstick colours. it's pretty cool, if you watch any bts concert, you'll see how the lightsticks change colours and stuff. it's really amazing.
Payton really knows his stuff. I have no knowledge of tv or video production, but I know when it’s prerecorded or not from... fancams!! Lol. So what I’ve noticed in recent broadcasts, some prerecorded segments were necessary to give members enough time to change, and the stage being set up etc. Some are done due to the level of difficulty of the production, such as this Mikrokosmos stage, and some parts in the Dyonisus stage. Sometimes the members would still perform it live during the show, but it’s not for broadcast.
Wow, your friend is really good at what he does, in the 2 moments, so far, that there was pre record he realized, with RM in the beginning and this song. They recorded the day before, but the vocals are live.
I was expecting Payton opinion in this part of the performance, particularly, because of those effects. He explained them so well, we learnt a lot! it's impressive. Thank you both for taking your time! our muggles see those things and wow "ooooh..." without understanding much unless someone tell us how they do it.
This part of the performance is pre recorded and it's normal with Korean Music Shows. They did this to make time for them to be ready for the last performance. The pre recorded part of the performance is this one and the Intro (RM' solo).. but in RM's solo, they showed the pre recorded for broadcast but RM still performed it live on the stage. You can see it in fan cams..:)
This performance is pre-recorded. Normally for a long performing set, they will have one or two song pre-recorded so the artists have time to change, the crew have time to set up the stage. Sometimes they pre-record the whole set also then they use the footage from both live performance and the pre-record ones. Just in and out like that because they dont wanna take a risk. For the star, the universe effects and also a thousand lights spanning out, they're all CG and AR, that's why they pre-record the performance. But this can also happen in real life if u attend BTS's concert, you will see they use hologram tech for these kinds of effect. The light spanning out in this perf is not the real lightstick u can realize because the light dots dont move while in real life, if it's the lightstick from the audience the lights should be shaky a little bit. You can see later near the end of the performance they mix the real lightstick light with the CG light, there are some dots stay and some dots move. About the case in real life, ARMY Bomb (which is the lightstick the fans hold) is bluetooth controlled. They have a person (or even a team, depends) to control it. Backstage there is a control panel just for the lightstick like what u have with the AV system. And basically the person can control the light however they want depending on the performance, they can change the color, make a rainbow ocean in the audience, make the names/characters etc..., they can do different effects such as bling bling, go along with the rhythm, light spanning out,... Technology develops everyday 😂 and the person who control the lightstick even has to have a script to know which song what effect and what color they have to change. Some tips to know if it's a pre-recorded song or not: - you will see they jump from this song to another song with different outfits but there is no VCR in between. - hairstyling will be a little bit different. Outfit changing between performances only gives you enough time to change the outfits real quick and fixing the hair, but doesnt allow you to have a totally different hairstyle. - pre-recorded performance rarely has wide-angle camera shot which could include the audience because there is no audience, there are only the artists in the venue, so you see most of the time its close-up angle (except in which the event allows fan to attend the pre-recording section, then you will see different fan arrangement in the audience compare to the live broadcast OR they put over the effect layer on top of the footage like this one)
Payton out here like : why what what what.. and they're doing planets? Hold.. what what?!.. Justin enjoying the highnote: *Face of satisfaction and👍👍. 12:21
Just wanted to add that Mikrokosmos literally refers to a "small universe" (micro cosmos), and they use this concept to express multiple things. On their album Map of the Soul: Persona, one of the meanings is about how every individual is a small universe, and that relates to their search for identity, which is one of the things that album explores. In their concerts, they tell us that our sea of ARMY bombs (light sticks) make the stadium look like its own small universe, full of stars. So it's nice that you picked up on that, because when we see them perform this song at the MMAs with all of the extra effects, making the cosmos concept even more literal, that sea of stars has a special meaning to ARMYs.
Fading the audience volume until the moment the lights hit made their sudden appearance even more dramatic. I dunno jack about camera work, but I know when I'm entertained.
It's really amazing how you listen to the audio and think "was that pre-recorded" i had to watch fancams to figure out it was or read que sheets ppl leak. and yes the screens take the broadcast
Nobody seemed to notice that the mikrokosmos set is a mirror of bts' heartbeat mv, the part where they seemed to be floating in the galaxy. Exactly the same. Amazing.
As a Korean, it is very natural and we can tell which one is prerecorded or live because it’s very oftenly used. So it is so funny you guys are so seriously discuss about that😂 Thank you for your honest and professional oppinion. (If my english was wrong, I am sorry.)
Justin be jamming to jimin hitting the high note and payton be amazed looking at the planets and the graphics 😂😂 both of them are a whole mood I don’t know who to look at
those lightsticks have a speaciality, which allows them central control. for example, in a concert, without the owner's will, by a software they can send all those lightsticks a message to change their colors in sync. so i think thats how they can also sync them with the fxs on the song mikrokosmos
They have their own particular colour mics....and every colour describes a little of their personality....So you can see the mics for the particular member in every performance....
Payton to help you a bit remember the circle you saw in the other reaction? You wondered where it was from and what its purpose was. They are standing on that same stage. The screen went down into the stage. Another thing if you notice is that the crowd is "frozen" during mikromos. That part I think was prerecorded as well.
Light sticks or Army bomb is connected to your mobile through bluetooth, but before that u need to download the Apps BTS Official Lightstick to connect and set it into concert mode..
He gets like 500 comments, its actually quite difficult to read everything. He has a life outside of YT too u know. He's still doing a great job. Besides he's a vocal coach so he focuses more on their voices and notes which i really like. He's not here to just become an ARMY, he's here to analyse the voice. That is why he reacts to multiple kpop groups. Saying that he does it for money is a bit mean 😬
those light sticks that the audience were holding was called ARMY bombs, they are the official lightsticks of BTS. they have bluetooth that could be controlled by the production.
Yea this song was prerecorded which is how they managed to have completely different outfits in seconds lol. They had lights where the audience would be to look like stars and as if the actual audience was there as well.

And rainbow for anpanman
Justin throughout the whole video: “yea”
“Yup”
“Right”
“Right”
“Wooooow”
“That’s interesting”
“ sure,sure”
“Mhm”
*bites lip*
*copies Peyton hand movements *
*repeats a few words*
And Peyton: still talking about the cameras
I'm glad Payton was so excited, but I missed hearing Justin's comments on the song and I don't think Payton appreciated this beautiful song either. You guys need to find a balance so that both observations are heard. Maybe listen first and then comment.
Understandable but didn't Justin already react to this before? Maybe that's why he let Payton take over more
Well the army bombs has Bluetooth capability and BTS can control them from their control booth.
Sggarn29 Asian choice BTS doesn’t control them lol, the crew does XD
9:51 All of those lights are called ARMY bombs. It's like a light up ball on top of a black stick, which you hold. It can change colors. It's for us fans.
I REALLLYYY love watching you both!
i majored in media and communication so i appreciate all the important things payton notices in the production and i have a passion for singing and i took vocal lessons back then so i also love hearing justin's insight on everything~
i love it when you guys react and comment on their performances in a professional pov 💞 feels like i'm geeking out and with you guys!
This is live but prerecorded. So they can prepared for next performance.
12:16 i just absolutely died laughing at how justin was dying over the high note silently but payton was freaking out about the camera work.
At the first night at the Rose Bowl he said he forgot to wear his “ring” so he couldn’t do the light effects!
@@kathikai2000 "Ring"? Boy, I sure hope Peyton fills us/me in on how this is done!
You only need a choreographer and you’re good
Justin: listening to Jimin's voice and enjoying
Payton:*confused* "Where is the screen tho? Oh did it raise?! Wait..."
BTS usually has at least 1 prerecorded song or segment, before their stage w the most elaborate props ! It gives them time to change and for the venue and staff to put the stage together. A lot of the time they will still go on stage for the live audience and perform or dance, while the prerecorded performance is broadcasted !
I don't if because I had a bad day but this man really got me angry for pausing the video so many times 🤯🤯🤯🤯
i love watching this reaction. very educational.. last time i watched about lighting director. now camera director.. Thanks Justin & Payton..
I love how you actually appreciate Jin’s vocals ❤️❤️
12:15 that was so funny how justin was enjoying listening to the vocals and at the same time there's payton so engrossed and confused in the filming technique like wtf just happened 😂😂
I actually love hearing you talk about these details 😂 I don’t notice any of it so it’s cool. So informative! Please keep going
Payton is tooo looud.. I was enjoying looking at Justin's reaction to our Bangtan's voice but this guy here is obsessed with the filming. Dear brother just watch the video again!!!!!!!! ENJOY THEIR VOICES!
Let's just took some minute to appreciate Justin for appreciating our Pink Prince Mr. Seokjin. Thank you Mr.Justin
BTS fan light stick, called the ARMY bomb, can be controlled through bluetooth, and it also corresponds to an app that enables “concert mode” where you plug in you seating details so that the lighting operators can control each individual lightstick.
Hope that helps
I love it how Payton is so into his job and everything connected to it, and they both are so excited to talk about the vocals&production. I'm in love
Just so you know, Mikrokosmos is prerecorded
but they're still singing right ?
Tachibana Hitoshi when they prerecorded it, they did sing it live. When it was broadcasted, they didn’t edit their vocals or anything. So yes, they are still singing if that’s what you mean
The way Justin was feeling the vocals on a physical level while Payton was like 'wait what are that planets there? `😂
lol ... Funny when justin was enjoying jimin high notes at 12:16 but payton was confused with the screen ... 😂😂😂
they really enjoy on what they specialized at ...hehehe
@@afizdi5543 many things I didn't notice before this because we don't have the knowledge like these guys.. so its quite interesting watching their reactions and get to know so many things..
never clicked so fast! love your reactions!!
12:17 that was so funny, both enjoying but different things and justin's reaction is priceless ^^
Payton being all confused with the screen and Justin living for the high notes lol
During Jimin's high note in Mikrokosmos Justin was just enjoying it while Payton was so confused about the entire thing 😂😂😂
12:30
Payton: Wait, where did the screen go? (Being in his nature)
Justin: (Admiring Jimin's highnote and the whole song well obviously)
It's hilarious to watch them both
For the whole performance , i should say :
The first part of " persona" was pre-recorded
The second part of " persona" + boy in luv+ boy with love were live .
This was a good reaction. 12:16 I love how both of you are focus on two different things.
Justin silently praising jimin's high note while payton is going nuts with the planets appearing I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING
In general, for the bigger groups that get to do more that two or three songs, they will pre-record one or two performances to allow them time to change, catch their breath, touch up makeup, etc etc.
he he, wrote this before Peyton realized that this performance is most likely pre-recorded. Oops!
Bts use Bluetooth controlled light sticks. They spell out words and make the lights into rainbows at their concerts as part of the show
I love how excitable and knowledgeable Payton is and you guys have such good chemistry reacting together.
12:15
Payton: Wait what? I'm so disoriented, did the screen raise? Wait and they're doing planets? What? huh??!!!
Justin: *Enjoying the music without a care in the world*
I really love hearing your viewpoints about bts. I follow other vocal coaches who are more opera centric, but you are legit a pop vocal coach! I love how you route for Jin!
They actually used drones flying in a swarm making formations for this song. You can check it up in the internet.
Payton's like "WHERE DID THE SCREEN GO?????" while Justin is just like "shut up dude, listen to jimin's voice!" and that's hilarious 😂😂
the glowstick thing that peyton was talking about is a lightstick. almost every kpop group that has a big fandom has a lightstick. in bts' case, their lighstick is named army bomb. the current selling version has a bluetooth feature and usually they have a booth where you go and connect your lightstick to their bluetooth and then you leave it on and the lighting staff will control your lightstick colours. it's pretty cool, if you watch any bts concert, you'll see how the lightsticks change colours and stuff. it's really amazing.
I love your energy so much , the passion in each of you , wow …
When i saw that Payton and Justin reacted to this, i knew they would be so impressed
I was expecting Payton opinion in this part of the performance, particularly, because of those effects. He explained them so well, we learnt a lot! it's impressive.
Thank you both for taking your time! our muggles see those things and wow "ooooh..." without understanding much unless someone tell us how they do it.
i want payton to work on a BTS show, this was so well analyzed!!! He clearly knows what he's doing haha
Have you seen any western show cameraman doing them justice
damc 4991 maybe Payton will be different🤷♀️
it really wasn't. just sayin"
"I love you" in 100 different languages for ARMYs!
i love payton so much!! he always catches on things that i did not notice although I've watched these performances about 15 times lol
Some tips to know if it's a pre-recorded song or not:
- you will see they jump from this song to another song with different outfits but there is no VCR in between.
When the planets appeared,
Justin: enjoying the m3lody to th3 fullest.
Payton: wwwwait, what? What? Wai-wha-what?
😂 welcome to Korean performances!
Payton out here like : why what what what.. and they're doing planets? Hold.. what what?!..
Justin enjoying the highnote:
*Face of satisfaction and👍👍.
12:21
A new army.
Vs
An experienced army.
@@bee12117 i know right! I am just talking about how he reacted as he was one and i'm pretty sure that he'll get it someday.💜😊
12:17 Payton watching the graphics, the planets meanwhile Justin enjoying Jimin's high note. 😂😂😂
Nobody seemed to notice that the mikrokosmos set is a mirror of bts' heartbeat mv, the part where they seemed to be floating in the galaxy. Exactly the same. Amazing.
In the fan cams, we could hear the audience singing along.
I just love how Payton was like “wait , what? Ohhhhh” and Justin was in his own world feeling it on Jimin’s part jajaja
As a Korean, it is very natural and we can tell which one is prerecorded or live because it’s very oftenly used. So it is so funny you guys are so seriously discuss about that😂
Thank you for your honest and professional oppinion.
(If my english was wrong, I am sorry.)
Justin be jamming to jimin hitting the high note and payton be amazed looking at the planets and the graphics 😂😂 both of them are a whole mood I don’t know who to look at
those lightsticks have a speaciality, which allows them central control. for example, in a concert, without the owner's will, by a software they can send all those lightsticks a message to change their colors in sync. so i think thats how they can also sync them with the fxs on the song mikrokosmos
can't wait for the subsequent parts!!! I love both justin and Payton
They have their own particular colour mics....and every colour describes a little of their personality....So you can see the mics for the particular member in every performance....
I really can't wait for part 4 to come out!! The next part is the wildest that leaves you speechless.
Payton to help you a bit remember the circle you saw in the other reaction? You wondered where it was from and what its purpose was. They are standing on that same stage. The screen went down into the stage. Another thing if you notice is that the crowd is "frozen" during mikromos. That part I think was prerecorded as well.
The Video: accidental cut in the middle - of a member that was probably J-Hope
Justin: wAs tHAt JiMin!?!??
I really like watching him get excited for stage production
Payton: Wait where did the screen go? Are those planets??
Justin: I don't care, bro. Just listen to Jimin's high note.
Justin regretting his life decisions...😂😂
Light sticks or Army bomb is connected to your mobile through bluetooth, but before that u need to download the Apps BTS Official Lightstick to connect and set it into concert mode..
cant believe justin STILL DOES NOT know what army bomb is. It has been MONTHS
He needs one before he goes to a concert
That's Justin.. the one whom every member is Jimin 🤣🤣
also he ve reacted to this before so if he read the comments he should know all those details but he didnt
He doesn’t know hoseok or yoongi never mind an army bomb what did you expect ?
those light sticks that the audience were holding was called ARMY bombs, they are the official lightsticks of BTS. they have bluetooth that could be controlled by the production.
It's so funny how Payton keeps talking about the screen while Justin is melting on Jimin's highnote
Yea this song was prerecorded which is how they managed to have completely different outfits in seconds lol. They had lights where the audience would be to look like stars and as if the actual audience was there as well.
