Im a rangers fan & can confidently say nobody thought this kid was a bust. The only people that think that dont understand the sport. It takes years to find your game at the NHL level
So true, I’m also a rangers fan, it’s hard truth that he is one of the best right now. Same situation with Lafreniere, he is finally breaking out and I think he will be a 100 point scorer in this league. I still also haven’t given up on Kakko players like Buch, JT Miller, Casey Mittelstadt, Tage Thompson all took a long time to break out as stars I think Kakko has arrived
Despite injuries, he is becoming an effective player. I recall since 2019 where Ranger fans were calling Jack a "bust" compared to Kaapo Kakko, and those two went opposite directions towards the end of the 22-23 season. The man is no longer Jack, he is Chad Hughes.
Hughes Sr. even mentioned in hindsight Jack should have went the college route even if just one year. He said it was Jack choice. Did anyone expect a boy at 17, with tons of confidence he would not want to want to play in NHL. Even though greatly undersized it has not hurt his development. He just missed out playing playing at Michigan, missed out playing worlds with his NDTP buddies and maybe a gold. If he can stay healthy he can be a top 5 points guy in his prime
Not a knock on Jack, but you can see he didnt even finish going through puberty when he entered the league, of course hes gonna get much better as he becomes a man playing against men. Dude is crushing it this year
I don’t think the guys body is going to hold up with how he plays. Once a week he does some weird self inflicted fall idk his game just isn’t going to hold up unfortunately
I don't get to see him play all that much but I did notice he does do weird things. I get to watch Quinn play every game and he doesn't do anything like that.
As a Devils fan, I remember thinking he was a bust...watching him get knocked around all over. Then I remembered myself at his age..I was just as small as him, and skinny as a rail. Could eat a whole pizza and not gain an ounce...and then just said "give him time. He just has to bulk up, and you'll see a whole new Jack Hughes." Sure enough, he improved to average his sophomore year with us, and in the 22-23 season, he set a new franchise record for points. Yeah last season was not so hot...but nearly EVERYONE was injured that season....destroying the chemistry.
You can't use point totals when guys have missed time, you gotta use per game where he's 10th in points and 7th in assists. And that's with him slowing down from said injuries, he started the season averaging almost 3ppg so "dominating" is definitely a fair description of his play.
Dude was never a Bust! Simply should've played in the AHL first...even for 10-15 Games... before playing in the Show! The expectation of a 1st Pick having to play right away is what's wrong here! Only the Crosby, McDavid & Ovi's should have the expectation of playing right away!

stop talking shit on someone 100x better than you
@@davidcutler1486he literally didn’t mention anything negative about the guy
@@davidcutler1486 are you ok?

As a devils fan jack is an absolute monster in my opinion he’s the reason I play hockey 🏒.
Good player that needs to get bigger.
Same size as p Kane
@@Heytherebuds he ain’t no Patrick Kane everybody is different needs to beef up.
I’m a rangers fan and the same thing happened with Laffy people gave up on him and he turned out great and played up to his potential
Jack is like X2 better lol
Cant wait for the 120+ point season
his voice bro
fairy boy
Great video
Best player❤ SHOULD STAY NJD W/CUP
Ya no, he’s not leaving, especially with Luke on the deviks
The Lonzo ball of hockey

He's a good player. Wouldn't say he's dominating the league
This kid is a stud. Please surround him w more talent.

Got hurt this year against Chicago and nobody touched him

Tbh, it’s not really fair to compare a kid to 3 future hall of famers
In a way im sad quinn hughes didnt go first but then i am happy because if he went first the canucks wouldnt have of gotten him
Hughes can't skate from here to there without breaking. He's talented as hell but he's made of glass, unfortunately.
He's a good player no doubt, is he the best of the Hughes?
I believe he will be
he's the most talented for sure
quinn is the more complete player
Him and Connor Bedard will both miss significant time throughout their careers. It appears they're both made of glass.
.you will be
He has humility as well
Jack Hughes is not "dominating" the NHL wtf lmao. He is 47th in scoring. Definitely not a bust but this whole video is a massive stretch
Missed some time due to injury, would be on pace for 100+ points
It’s really an injury issue with him. Kids definitely a top 15 player already and only 22 years old

true that
Sits amongst lol wtf ok
Is this a girl or what?
This video is so pretentious
He is still a bust.
How, last season he had 99 points which is the most points for a devils player in a season, and this season he’s still on point 100+
Nah. Hes still a bust.
In what world is he a bust? (Not a devils fan)
Yeah he bust a load on your face lol
Lol
Yea a bust in ur world, ur a bust for not being in the nhl how bout that
100 point season this year
