From a video she posted, prior to the release of the lyrics only video, she said there was some problems within her family. I've learned a little more since. Seems her father is not fond (at all) of her boyfriend (Dave Lamar) or that she has chosen to live on her own. They (her family) have not been on speaking terms for quite some time now (well over a year). This song was essentially written to her father.

After i hear and listen again.. i think this song should get a new touch, it would be better if there is a new version, collaborating with rappers like Ez mills, Rich Bryan or international rappers... there is a little change in the music and cut the music part. ... Yeah You got it right! there are so many symbolism that you have to give yheir meanings and that what the song tells about what Morissette went through on her current situations with her father, which for me is continue being a bad ass to her daughter MORI. I wonder what could be the real reason why She continue to not let MORISSETTE to have communications and see them until now. B3cause Morissette for the first time fell in love to Dave her BF as of now who took good care and loved her so much. Her father learned about their relationships and told Mori yo stop and break it up with Dave but MORISSETTE has already reached her right age and disobey her father instead She left their home and live by her own and go with Dave since then her father don't want to see and talk to her until now. Morissette at her young age is a breadwinner for her family provides all their needs and left a huge amount of money for them to use but her father value all her efforts and sacrifices She made for the family.
