Baizhu's quest is a very rememberable story, he was so mysterious, one of the best doctors, the one who cured Anne's sickness from Mondstadt, wants to seek immortality so he can save many people and that he would end the contract with him. He's such a good character.
You're right Arnold, we need a Qiqi story quest, she deserves one.
One of my favorite story quest. It's so heart felt and Baizhu's dedication to saving people is so admirable.
Easily one of the top story quests, especially, as you talked about, the dichotomy between what we as a playerbase THOUGHT Baizhu was like, a selfish man clinging to his own life, and what he truly was, a truly selfless man, dedicated to save both his patients and Chansheng, to make sure no one becomes another him, wasting themselves away to save and save.
I think the best part of the quest though is how well they get us attached to Jialiang and his family. I remember playing this and, once he started hearing the memories and seeingh but not hearing his wife, I admit I was a bawling mess. Then the game does a flip and saves him, but unlike other fake outs, this didn't take me out or give the player too much whiplash. I remember screaming in happiness when I realised he was able to live. Someday I shall get Baizhu on my account...

Now I'm actually very fond of Baizhu and relate to him extremely so. I suffer from not only disabilities but I have a rare neurological disorder that can be crippling, but that's never stopped me enjoying life(just like Baizhu). Even more is his inspiration of the old Chinese White Snake legend. I grew fond him first time I saw him and not just cause I love snakes.

Can we send a request to Alice to make more of those communication devices that we used with Venti during Golden Apple? Baizhu and Gui definitely needs one that's for sure 😂

Bubu Pharmacy's backroom song is one of my FAVORITE OSTs in Genshin. (it's called "Sanctuary for the Sick")
It paints a perfect picture of the "tranquility through calamity" that Liyue embodies.
Ah yes, Baizhu's story quest is still so iconic for me lmao Suffering from what I dub, the Furina Effect (yes I know chronologically Baizhu suffered it first but Furina just hits so much harder for it)
I'll never forget how I realized during that beautiful cutscene, how my world view for him shifted from "suspicious man who wants immortality selfishly" to "the most selfless, greedy man that wants to save everyone with immortality". His story quest is still part of my top three faves until now tbh
Also I cannot WAIT for Wriothesley's SQ. That SQ pretty much slapped me with how much front-loaded dark themes Fontaine with and has long since been my top story quest.
This quest really did a lot of the heavy lifting for Baizhu as a character. The dude went from a creepy/suspicious type to one of the kindest character we have along side Nahida
There's a reason this character is my only C6 5 star- I even went to the point of R5- just because I love him so much. I'm glad to see Arnold appreciate him for what he is!
this right here is when genshin’s story quests began to fucking peak. they’ve been on gas ever since baizhu
I like how hoyo started to show more other characters except for the one the story is based on unlike old quest where only the character the story is based on only

God Baizhu’s story really does hit different. Everyone was thinking this man was malicious with his intent, and really, he turns out to be one of the most selfless men out there, looking out for others with great intentions. What a story quest. I loved it.
I've waited so long to see you play through Baizhu's story quest. It makes me so happy for people to realize what an amazing character Baizhu is and how great his lore is.

The cutscene music is so damn fire. Man I love this quest, Baizhu, Changsheng, everything just so good I wouldn’t had been able to be twitch chat and wait that long for this, a SQ that I think easily is still in top 5 for me
I recently added this song to my playlist, and just now realized it was from Baizhu's SQ (Pulse of Spring from Shimmering Voyage vol.3) it's soooo good
One of the rarest times I'm impressed by the stories procured by Hoyoverse, Baizhu's character and lore really resonate with each other and makes me love him even more and more. I hope to see more Baizhu- related from Hoyoverse.

Another great story quest. I was one of those folks that was sussing out Baizhu for a while now until this story quest. Really enjoyed this... one of the better ones.
I love baizhu alot , i suffer alot of chronic illnesses so he's my comfort character for that but i love his personality, hes so sassy. Hes also someone who wants to help others even at the risk of himself which makes me sad but i admire him for it . Its sad so many in the genshin community have the worng idea of him and dont even care to play his story quest to educate themselveson him hes also a very good character to play with . Id be lost eith out him and neuvilletteon my team for sure:( i also wish he showed more in game ( like the new liyue patch for lantern rite )
I completely forgot that they set off for Natlan! I'm really hoping we see more continuation quests for the NPCs (like Jeht, Zhiqiong, Kaveh's mom, Chouji, and Jiangli's famy). There's so much potential there!
We all expected Baizhu to be an Orochimaru expy but the Naruto character we got was Sasuke in Dainsleif xD
I'm a little happy with Baizhu's characterization even though it's different from expectation. He's a good compliment to Hutao's philosophy and outlook on life. It also emphasize Dottore's cruelty as the other doctor of the game. Baizhu is such a great character.

fr though, I zoned out throughout Hu Tao's quest but only started Baizhu's quest to see Hu Tao and her conflict with Baizhu because it was actually interesting
Baizhu was the only character I had absolute zero interest on but his story quest forced me to get him 😌
Hmm I wonder if Arnold forgot the Hu Tao lore from her profile write up, I believe the reason why Hu Tao bothers Qiqi so much now is because she feels very sorry for what she did to her, trying to burry her so much in the past, and now she just wants to make sure Qiqi lives a peaceful and happy life as she is, that’s why she bothers her so much haha. Qiqi is still not impressed with that though 😂
You know, it might actually be in Qiqi’s lore write up actually and not Hu Tao’s haha. Either way, it’s in one of theirs!
@8:28 good luck on getting C6 Qiqi. Glad to see another Qiqi fan. I got her C6 over a year ago, she has saved me in Spiral Abyss many times and have used her to revive teammates in Co-op too many times to count, especially on Weekly Bosses like Guardian of Eternity, Apep Warden, All-devouring Narwhal, and of course the Knave.
Qiqi is one of my only Triple Crowned characters, I crowned her normal Attack about a year ago, Skill and Burst earlier this year. Have her running a R2 Aquila Favonia and Pale Flame set, She's a Physical DPS MONSTER but still heals plenty. I put her on my Dailies team for weeks along with Ganyu, Xianyun, and Gaming while exploring Chenyu Vale in version 4.4
I again hope you do get C6 Qiqi soon, and let us see how you build her and if you Crown any of her talents (BTW, my username was Qiqi3Crowns for about a month after I Triple Crowned her, I think it was 4.4 when I did crown her Skill and Burst).

- I srsly love this and it showed how Baizhu got Changsheng's eyes although then the story of the adepti with Fujin and Lingyang...the white snake with red eyes? The would've meant she already had red eyes so I guess she was already in a contract cuz she originally has gold eyes 🤔 when was the timeline for that aaa

I still don’t think it was right to raise someone back from the dead but he would consider magic as a form of medicine if it is possible. Can’t say Hu Tao doesn’t use magic to communicate with the dead. It’s really interesting cuz both Hu Tao and Baizhu have their good reasons.
This may be irrelevant but
IIRC the story was based off a Mihoyo worker who couldn't see things through to the end owing to her own physical health and subsequently passed away. Anyone else remembered that story? Think Jiangli was based off of that worker

I love when story or character slap you with the plot twist. In demon slayer there one character I don't like but it punch me with the sad backstory plot twist and I hated myself on hating the character 😂😂😂 but in the same time made me love more of the story!

I might have to member up 😁 p.s ive been playing since December 2020 and i havnt Drawn a single Qiqi or keqing and i actually Pray to lose 50/50 and sing the song in hopes to get her since standard banner only has jean and mona for me. 😅
My 50/50 breaker are Jean, Keqing, Diluc. Now Jean is C6, my first C6 chara. 😅I got only one Qiqi in 50/50. Give me all for Qiqi's, you can have my Jean's. 😅
