      What Chas needs is to be given the job that he EARNED back so his confidence will come back instead of giving the job to Jake Meyers who didn't do a damn thing to earn it and has been predictably average at best or even useless outside of like 3 weeks in May....

      @jenniferduncan4966 wtf 🤣, I'm sorry, in what universe is it "participation trophy" to say that the guy who very clearly played MILES better and EARNED his spot, shouldn't have then over the off-season lost his job for literally no reason. They just said "Jake Meyers is the starting CF". Fucking WHY???
      If anything, Jake Meyers is the participation trophy 🙄 kid has been so ridiculously coddled and spoon fed playing time, culminating in being handed the starting CF job for doing absolutely nothing, all just cuz "remember his first month in the big leagues! 😀 😍 🤩!!!" And what happened? He was great for a couple weeks and he sucks again. "Better" than Chas isn't exactly the word I'd use. Yea, no shit Chas sucks. How would you feel if you hit .270 with an .840 OPS and your team told you to go sit on the bench so some other guy can go suck some more. I'd be pretty pissed and off my game too..

      @jenniferduncan4966 the point is, he DID earn it. And it was taken away without taking another swing on the field. How tf is it participation trophy to say that's not fair....

    Hader is trash and not worth all that we gave up for him. I’d take scott, neris or even abreu to close a game over him. Maybe mgmt will get it right next year, who knows. Hader seems like depending on what team he goes to really affects how he pitches. I thought he pitched his best with the brewers. Us, not so much.

      1.28 ERA last year with the Padres. Second best of his career, so......
      I mean, yes, he's been bad, but let's not start playing the whole "he chooses when he wants to be good" game....

    • @tbrown4762
      @tbrown4762 Месяц назад +1

      I’m not saying he chooses when he plays good, I just think his comfort level with the team plays a role in how he pitches.

    • @imnotcreativeenoughh
      @imnotcreativeenoughh Месяц назад

      @tbrown4762 I get it. Point still stands though. He sucked in 2022 with the Brewers, and then they traded him and he sucked even more for SD the rest of that year til he was unhittable in the playoffs and then he was unhittable for SD last year. I think "comfort level" is something that applies to any player.
      Either way, point still stands that he was just as good with SD last year as any year in Milwaukee. Not defending him for this year's performance so far, but it's not time yet to be demanding him gone and cursing him out. Feeling like it's a mistake to have signed him? That's fair. But we're halfway in to year one. Can't be making those judgements yet.
      Just ask Rangers fans how well the whole "Marcus Semien was a mistake" thing went from 2022 to 2023.....I think it was worth it to watch him suck the first year of his deal....

    • @texandy89
      @texandy89 Месяц назад +3

      It was a mistake by the Astros to let Neris Ryan Stanik and Phil Maton walk we should've kept them instead some of our pitchers are hurt or out for the season.

  • @C.J.33
    @C.J.33 Месяц назад +1

    OMG Hader... at what point can he get it under control, or do we just eat the contract and get someone who can actually close games out or at least keep the game alive. Oh wait, he's on the roster already.

    • @imnotcreativeenoughh
      @imnotcreativeenoughh Месяц назад

      Imagine having a closer who in 4 years has never lost a game or blown a save in the playoffs, and then a mid 20s flamethrower who's just put up back to back sub 2.00 ERA seasons and being like "you know what this team needs? A hundred million dollar closer".....

    • @imnotcreativeenoughh
      @imnotcreativeenoughh Месяц назад

      Also......you understand "eating" Hader's contract isn't gonna happen, right? Like....they did it with Abreu cuz he's like 40 and it was only a year and a half left, AND he was like....broken. Hader has been bad, but he's not been nearly bad enough, plus is in the first of a 5 year deal. He ain't going anywhere. Not unless they somehow trade him but I'd be shocked if that happened before year 3 of the deal.

    • @C.J.33
      @C.J.33 Месяц назад

      @@imnotcreativeenoughh I know we aren't going to eat the contract, too much for too long but like, everytime I see him on the bump it seems like he's giving up homers. Dude can't keep it in the park, whether he's blowing saves or not, doesn't change the fact that what we need out of a closer is someone who can get us out of a 1 run game with a victory and he's not doing it this year. I mean sure, the runs from yesterdays game off the slam only one of those were from him technically. But to optics, doesn't look great, then again, if I can't remember who was on the mound but if he and Singleton came up with that ball at first - game over, and Hader doesn't come out.
      We paid for a 1.28 ERA guy and we're getting a 3.92. It's frustrating. A trade would be great but at the same time his stats this year - who's willing to take that on, AND his contract. It sucks to get a guy on a contract year who's showing out and then once he get's the money he falls off. Damn Montero all over again. Just so much frustration with some of the decisions. I know nobody saw this coming from Hader but we paid for Josh and we're getting Bill. Got to get him linked up with Framber and a translator who can teach him how to get GB outs or something.
