Not a great option if you are linking or to explain to CAD only externally referencing their files, You need to get their zero zero close enough to your zero zero, and they need to understand why this needs to be done. To help make the drawings more precise, don’t draw five million miles away from your AutoCad world 0,0,0. Another problem with the CAD people is how bizarre and archaic their sheet systems work so you need to coordinate this early on.
