Rustenburg Girls' Junior School presents, the National Ensemble Competition finals: Seniors 2024

A2: 1. Pluck and Bow 2. RGHS Matric Trio B2: 1. RGHS Matric Ensemble 2. Outeniqua High Instrumental Ensemble C2: First place was shared by two groups: Outeniqua High School Jazz Band IMAD Kayelitsha D2: 1. Hugo Lambrechts Symphony Orchestra 2. Muzukidz.
National Ensemble Competition hosted by Rustenburg Girls' Junior's music department organised and hosted a groundbreaking National Ensemble Competition which was held from 8 - 10 August.
This competition saw music groups travel from as far afield as Pretoria, Bloemfontein and George. Over 600 participants were welcomed through our doors and what a wonderful time everyone had! Not only did they play beautiful music, but they also encouraged and supported each other and made connections that will grow in years to come.
Performances were of a high standard and the competition was often extremely close. We are extremely proud of every one of our participants.
Many Rustybugs sacrificed hours of their weekend to help. They selflessly sold tickets, carried chairs and music stands and guarded the hall door - always with that trademark Rustybug zeal.
We can be very proud of the team of girls, parents and teachers who pulled off this enormous endeavour.
