I am sorry to hear about your pain and i hope you find out why. I just listen to your covers, your passion was mesmiration and i will return looking for new ones. I can not belive that a singer/reacter whit that love for old soulful music not have followed Angelina Jordan for years. Since you are a women who i guess is emotinal and kind i think you will get a dilema reacting to the younger Angelina. How do you react to a child of 7/8 year singing summertime, do react to the child or to the singer? She is currently 14 - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos. - *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. Excellent reaction & analysis of Angelina Jordan. She has been my favorite vocal artist, EVER, since I discovered her 3 years ago. She is a jazz genius, but she can cover most any style or genre of music. She emotes better than any singer I've heard, giving me goosebumps every time & often makes me cry, sometimes because the song is sad, but sometimes because it's just so beautiful. She does all her own arrangements & she has the uncanny ability to take an old classic song & rearrange it to be her own version, often better than the original,IMO. She got the Golden Buzzer for this performance which sent her directly to the finals. There she did the same thing to Elton John's classic song Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, she "killed" it, made it her own, mesmerized the audience & judges & got a standing ovation. If you love jazz and blues you have found your singer, they call her the new queen of jazz. She started early whit Whitney Housten ( 1 1/2 year old ) but since she was 3 years old jazz have been her pasion. She sing her songs in a way that give even old norwegian men tears in they eays ( kids/men in Norway never cry at least not when it can be seen ).

Here’s my advise, there is a small book called “Treat your own back” by pioneer Robin Mckenzie that can complement your doctors advise - I mean, your doctor certainly doesn’t have the time to explain you what you need to learn about your back. Thanks to my neurosurgeon and this book I’ve been postponing my back surgery for 20 years now (I’m 58). Great reaction btw. I’ve almost stop commenting about Angelina because I have no words left. You may be interested to know that Angelina has just signed with Republic Records as their number one priority new artist! She had previous turned down dozens of the biggest people in the industry. This is a huge landmark and we all knew it was coming eventually. This label also has Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Ariana grande, Jonas Brothers and more. We hear that she is signing on her own terms hopefully meaning a good deal of freedom.

It’s been a while since her AGT appearance and performance. Why isn’t she bigger than she really is? She has the uniqueness, the voice and the talent to be a superstar or at least bigger than she is. I guess timing and great management is as equally important to be so. But the thing is, she is not the only one. She been at it since a little girl and at a high level. She deserves it!

Thx for that insighthful reaction. That's a well done description of Angelina. She knows exactly what she can do and what is appropriate for the essence of a song. She's not using belting to force your attention as other singers do, only really when it is fitting to the song. Her arrangements are often complex but very subtle. Each time I am listening I'm discovering new details. Her music really is a colorful world full of contrasts. Each song different in style, tempo, even voice. When some singers are like a mechanic that has only the tools on his belt, she has a full warehouse at her disposal. Best wishes for you and get better soon!

I know you are laughing but I know what back pain is so I am very sorry, especially since you are so young to have such a problem. I am 77yo so it is not unusual to have back pain, but you are so young. I hope you get relief soon. I love Angelina. I have been following her since she won Norway's Got Talent at 7 or 8yo. - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 14
- She began singing at the age of one and a half
- At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos.
- *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help.
Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.
- She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old.
- In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes"
- When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 120 songs and over 65 artists in the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. All of which heard her and were blown away by her talent.
- Angelina has written three of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube)
In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a magical world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

Excellent reaction & analysis of Angelina Jordan. She has been my favorite vocal artist, EVER, since I discovered her 3 years ago. She is a jazz genius, but she can cover most any style or genre of music. She emotes better than any singer I've heard, giving me goosebumps every time & often makes me cry, sometimes because the song is sad, but sometimes because it's just so beautiful. She does all her own arrangements & she has the uncanny ability to take an old classic song & rearrange it to be her own version, often better than the original,IMO. She got the Golden Buzzer for this performance which sent her directly to the finals. There she did the same thing to Elton John's classic song Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, she "killed" it, made it her own, mesmerized the audience & judges & got a standing ovation. She started early whit Whitney Housten ( 1 1/2 year old ) but since she was 3 years old jazz have been her pasion. Here’s my advise, there is a small book called “Treat your own back” by pioneer Robin Mckenzie that can complement your doctors advise - I mean, your doctor certainly doesn’t have the time to explain you what you need to learn about your back. Thanks to my neurosurgeon and this book I’ve been postponing my back surgery for 20 years now (I’m 58). Great reaction btw. I’ve almost stop commenting about Angelina because I have no words left. Thank you for discovering reaction my favourite singer, Angelina re-arranged the song especially for the performance. She does this with many of her cover songs. Her fans call it "Angelinafying". The lady who first stood and clapped at the end of Angelina's performance was her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani. On her rightt was Angelina's mother, Sara Astar, then Juliette,her sister and last her uncle, Michael Astar who is also her Manager.
I have followed Angelina's career since I saw that first video on RUclips and in the six years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz,Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers,like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Lana del Ray, Gloria Gaynor, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others. What is more extraordinary is that she takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. You will notice that she never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". She just sings the song as she feels it is meant to be sung. And I'll add an even more extraordinary item for you to consider, to show how unique she is. She has the innate ability not only to sing a song as emotionally as the song deserves but to be able to communicate those same emotions to the listener. You may be interested to know that Angelina has just signed with Republic Records as their number one priority new artist! She had previous turned down dozens of the biggest people in the industry. This is a huge landmark and we all knew it was coming eventually. This label also has Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Ariana grande, Jonas Brothers and more. We hear that she is signing on her own terms hopefully meaning a good deal of freedom.

It’s been a while since her AGT appearance and performance. Why isn’t she bigger than she really is? She has the uniqueness, the voice and the talent to be a superstar or at least bigger than she is. I guess timing and great management is as equally important to be so. But the thing is, she is not the only one. She been at it since a little girl and at a high level. She deserves it!

Thx for that insighthful reaction. That's a well done description of Angelina. She knows exactly what she can do and what is appropriate for the essence of a song. She's not using belting to force your attention as other singers do, only really when it is fitting to the song. Her arrangements are often complex but very subtle. Each time I am listening I'm discovering new details.
Her music really is a colorful world full of contrasts. Each song different in style, tempo, even voice. When some singers are like a mechanic that has only the tools on his belt, she has a full warehouse at her disposal.

Think of it , she took a iconic classic rock opera & stripped it down & turned it into a jazzy/bluesy soulful ballad. Please support her music,CD's, iTunes ect. I know you are laughing but I know what back pain is so I am very sorry, especially since you are so young to have such a problem. I am 77yo so it is not unusual to have back pain, but you are so young. I hope you get relief soon.
I love Angelina. I have been following her since she won Norway's Got Talent at 7 or 8yo. Do watch "I Put A Spell On You" sung at 10yo, I believe. It is amazing.
You are in for such a treat, For the purest jazz go to the beginning, Norway's got talent at 7 years old she won doing all Jazz pieces starting with Billie Holiday "Gloomy Sunday" and finished with "Summertime" then check out "What a Difference a Day Makes", "Fly Me to the Moon" on The View (still just 8 years old) and an original "What is Life", and that is just a fraction, of what she has done

Not bad for a 13 year old. The way she starts out acappela. Fearless. And lands right on the pitch. She always does very well without much behind her--though many of the pieces are with big bands. Might want to listen to I'm Feeling Good when she was 10. Let alone I Put a Spell on You when she was 9--be sure to be sitting down when you see that one--oh, sorry, I expect sitting down might be the only option.
