It was not a good place to live for me. Unfriendly, weird behavior and it felt unsafe. I was REALLY happy to move away from there.

You have large districts such as Lewisville ISD, Frisco ISD, Plano ISD, etc, and being large districts has t caused the need for a split! 🙄 This screams classism all day.

Glad you’re doing a story on this. It highlights how school districts can be split along economic lines. And this may become more common in the future. Lower income households in a newly created district can get subpar schooling if the tax base isn’t rich enough. Of course this is happening because of the economics of individual cities and counties nearby. But to split an existing district is a pretty callous thing to do.

Why didn't she respond to my idea to help homelessness in Fort Worth? I have an excellent idea she did not make time to hear. 1 building, resources, daycare, religion, training, housing, etc, all on the busline. All by donations. Because there is no profit to make. Allegedly, and IMO, I'm not a fan of hers. Could have acknowledged the idea, but no.

Why would y'all state the students would get a lesser education if they split? 🤔

The money available would be different. Public schools are supported by property taxes, and people have already calculated the difference in the "alleged proposal" based on the taxable property base.
The counter question would be, "if those supporting a split say it is solely about making both sides smaller in number, then would they consider a proposal to split north/south instead of east/west?" That would place equal numbers of both affluent families and low income families on both sides. If the answer seems to be no, then you know the proposal is not really about numbers of students or "making two smaller districts."
