No problem Pembo. Did this answer you question added on the forum? plusspec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=25804

@@PlusSpec Yes mostly - see additional comment about. Also showing how to adjust some terrain to allow for an existing retainer wall or rpaid change to slope/shape woud be great :)

Hi Andrew - Can you share the link to the video on calculating the the qunatifying the cuts and fills?

We are in the process of updating our chanel content as updates are comng thick and fast, we will add this to the list.
The short answer is: To quantify the amount of fill to be cut and the amount to be filled you should create a manifold prism (solid) and use the custom estimationg tool in PlusDesignBuild. HERE is the existing tutorial video on custom estimation tool ruclips.net/video/2q3deItEDDk/видео.html
Dave, you can create your own soil materials that are quantifieable materials, you can associate a recipe to these materials. Eg certain soils have different fluff factors. EG One cube of Clay in a truck takes up 2.3 cube of space. This would be added as a recipe. However if it is a net zero cut and fill you woudl not associate a fluff factor as it is assumed the fill will be compacted to match the existing ground compaction.

@@PlusSpec Thanks for the update. Could I suggest that the cut fill volumes be calculated as solid volumes and then the client can decide what fluff factor they use for the cuts and fills - look forward to seeing the updated information - cheers :)

Today is your lucky day. Dave Andrew had a meeting cancelled at the last minute :) ruclips.net/video/7-b7xWAZe-U/видео.html

I would associate a recipe with the type of soil in the Geo tech report before starting the project. EG SAND 1.5m3 /1m3 of excation and Clay would be 2.5m3 /1m3. You could, charge the client afterwards yet in many cases variations slow the project down if the bank has to get involved. Nobody likes variations so if you are just going to create a preliminary allowance you would still use the recipe method to come up with the amount.

Hi Andrew. If you have the contour details (ie. figure)....why wouldn't one type that in or does it not work like that? Thanks.

@Janinechuter4969 I m not exactly sure how to answer that.
Do you mean to leave the contour plan flat and protrude the walls and floor under or over a flat contour plan? If you have a 3D contour plan that is to scale on all axis (not flat), you won't need to change the height. You will only change the contour heights if they are not to scale on the blue axis. Does that answer your question?

How do you import the survey if you don’t have plus spec ?
