I have this game too. I thought it was genuinely a very good game. I found it super impressive at the time as it was 1 of the 1st games i experienced on the original xbox and it gave me some legit scares as a kid
Oh, crap! Sorry, I just ripped into it for ten minutes! I remember it being mediocre at the time but going back to it was painful. I might be a bit older than you, so maybe it had less of an effect on me? Thanks for watching, Stray mate!
I really liked this game. I was a 12 year old that believes in creepy aliens and loves video games. Good enough. It was a great time. I doubt it holds up though.
Haha, yeah. I've been a huge Billy Joel fan since I was a kid. So when It come to making a retro games show, I thought it would make a good title and intro. Cheers for watching Wellabe!
I suppose that my standards were quite low when I bought this back in the day. The idea that you had both David Duchoveny and Marilyn Manson lending their voices to a game was enough to convince me I guess, haha. Not sure how I would feel about it if I got the chance to play it today (still got it somewhere), but who knows? Might have a good time. Either, this video had me laughing more or less the whole way through. Good work!
Thank you, mate! I think it's supposed to be better on PC but the Xbox version I played was a technical mess. I'm guessing the Gamecube version was pulled for that reason. Still, it's a really popular game from that time period though and the mini-documentary is a real bonus. If you're looking for a seriously underrated FPS from that era take a look at Urban Chaos: Riot Response, one of my favourite 6th gen shooters!
@@tominator4468 Thanks sir! I shall check that game out. Speaking of the xbox, did you ever try the Call of Cthulhu: Dark corners of the earth (also had a PC port if I'm not mistaken).
@@UJJYY Owned it for ages but I've never gotton around to playing it. If I can remember right, it's a pretty well liked game, right? Think I'll play it on xbox, looks like the steam port is pretty buggy. Thanks for the reminder YY23!
@@tominator4468 Sorry for the late reply. But yes, it is quite liked or at least the first half of the game is. Sadly it goes downhill once you escape Innsmouth.
This was a pretty good video. I always wondered if this game was any good since it came out but part of me was hesitant as the box cover didn't look very good. Thankfully my gut feeling was right.
Thanks, Jakeeenator! Apparently loads of people like this game. I'm not sure how long it's been since they played it, or if they played it on pc (which is less buggy) but this was one of the worst fps' on the 6th generation I've ever played. I even cut stuff out to keep the video shorter, like the 'platforming' section! lol. Anyway, thanks for watching, mate!
Nah bro it's great. It's jankey and is victim to the fact that most devs didn't have a full understanding of how to develop FPS games, but it's got a lot of charm and is generally a great shooter.
The biggest problem I had with the game on the OG Xbox is the invert controls and you can not turn it off. I agree with the 5/10 it just seems so generic
Oh I bet it's much less of a grind on a modern pc. Runs so bad on the original xbox though. I think that's why they cancelled the GameCube port. Everyone seems to love this game, lol, so I'll guess I take the hate on this one. Just had some german guy telling me to 'fuck my mother' in german lol. Maybe one day I'll replay it on PC. Thanks for watching, mate.
@@tominator4468 Damn, people on the internet sure do love to hate right? Anyways I played the PC version and it does look great at 4k, higher FoV, and at 60fps. Make sure you dont play it above 60fps because the game engine screws up the Jump physics but otherwise it performs great with NO screen tearing. The flashlight also works as intended on PC! You can always modify the files to make your weapons do more damage too. Clear image and it doesn't have graphical bugs or at least I haven't seen it during my playthrough. (Been playing it today.) Try it out!
Yeah, lots of people seemed to enjoy it. I loved the mini-documentary that came with it. It's worth picking up just for that. I've heard it's a lot less buggy on pc, which might help. I was just comparing it to the shooters I liked at the time, which it falls way far behind. Like Urban Chaos: Riot Response and Halo. Guess I was being overly critical because I thought it would make the video funnier. Hopefully my next string of videos will be better. Anyway, thanks for watching, mate.
Can you review Cars on DS plz? It's the worst game I've ever played. I hated it so much, I gripped the DS cartridge in a pair ofscissors and burnt it on the gas cooker, then threw it in a bush in my back garden.
Wow, that's some AVGN tactics. I'll keep my eye out for a copy. Still recovering from the Crazy Frog Racer DS game lol. Maybe a head-to-head video! Thanks for watching, Chris mate!
I think you should play the PC version cause the graphics and screen tearing isn't there on PC and everything is clear and easy to see. The flash light also works as intended. Also on PC version you can play at a higher Field of View so you can properly see things and 4k res is a thing. The Console version is kinda broken tho. Too much graphical glitches if you can call them that and performance is shit.
high reviews these days comes from who has the biggest wallet want an example of this? look up the legendary Kane and Lynch review on gamespot.
