    GUAM
***BEEN TO GUAM*** and beyond the reef
Hafa Adai (pronounced HALF A DAY) is "Hello" in Chamorro, the native language of Guam and the islands of the Northern Marianas.
I served in GUAM working on KC-135s and B-52s!

Guam; a place where the daily greeting is also their work ethic.

What amazes me is they are putting laser defensive systems on B52’s soon. It’s been in development for 6 years. The lasers will be able to target enemy missiles and aircraft. Absolutely amazing.

79-82, 43rd SPS. I've got a plaque in a box somewhere for wing NCO of the Quarter, or Month, can't remember. Great assignment, did a lot of scuba diving, and my wife and son loved the place.

Amazing when you consider that just a few years ago these guys were asking Dad to take the family car down to the local burger joint. Now it's "Can I take the 300million dollar bomber for a spin to work out some glitches.?"

Ok if we had these B52s during operation linebacker 2 in the Vietnam war would the missions been different ?

We did, although in D & G models. The current H model is basically a G model with upgraded engines.

what are the original parts of the B52s? Obviously the fuselage would be mostly original, with some strengthening/ repairs. Are the wings original? They would have gone through plenty of engines. Some of the cockpit must have been upgraded. They would have had radars and other communications/ electronics upgraded every few years. They have been able to keep enough of the original plane to justify its continual service for 50 years.I think they may have retired about half of the original fleet, but not because they were worn out. I think they are going to be still in service till 2030, when drones are planned to take over??

In the mid 70's they started upgrades to the electronic warfare and weapon delivery components. As weapon systems evolved, so did the control consoles that deliver the weapons up to todays standards. The upgrades included the fan jet engines on the H models. D, F, and G models are all out of service, only H models still fly. Whether drones will replace heavy delivery systems, we'll have to wait and see.

Try again. They plan to be in service until Atleast the 2050’s. They are giving the entire fleet brand new engines that are more powerful and fuel efficient so they need less tank ups. This one you won’t believe me but do a google search. Starting this year they are adding laser defenses to the B52. They’ve been in development for more than 5 years. The solid state lasers will be able to target incoming missiles and aircraft, giving the B52 incredible survivability.

Put a laser turret at the bottom to shoot at incoming missiles from below or perhaps a anti-missile drone launcher.

It will be a cold day in hell when Buffs fly at 60,000 feet. 35-40000 is typical.

@@barrygrant2907 Yes, we could not get to 60,000 ft even with no weapons and just about out of fuel. Early in a mission, when full of gas and weapons we couldn't even get to 40,000 ft.

The ABCs of Salvation, or how to be right with God, and know you're going to Heaven:
    A-dmit that you're a sinner, and need a Savior.
As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one. Romans 3:10
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
B-elieve that Jesus Christ died paying the penalty for your sins, and rose from the grave.
He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross. 1 Peter 2:24
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures... 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
C-all on the Lord Jesus Christ to save you, and trust only in Him for your salvation.
If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13
The moment you "believe," or, put your trust in what Jesus has done for you, God saves you and your eternal destiny in Heaven is assured. You go from spiritual death to eternal life the moment you believe.
Jesus said it this way: Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. John 5:24😀
