- Time to chat about the new 2021 K2 Reckoner 102! We had a blast helping with the prototyping process on this ski and are psyched to share our thoughts on the end result.

Thanks for the review. You convinced me. I'm going to pick up a pair now at the end of the season.
So I bought the skis at the end of the season and got 4 backcountry tours and 3 resort days on them so far. I use them with the Atomic Shifts 130s.
And so far, I´m really impressed. They carve pretty good, especially for their width. They dont flatter around or feel like they have a speed limit, this my biggest concern but they proved me wrong. Got the 184cm version, I´m 5"10.
In the park they are awesome as they should be, as long as you dont wanna do tripple backflips on the biggest of all jumps I found them so hold up to anything.
Their weight for backcountry skiing is ok, there for sure are more lightweight skis, but I had a +1000hm tour and they hold up very well, but they are not designed for ultra long tours, they wanna go downhill at some point.
We had nearly 2 feet new snow and they dealt great with it, sure even wider would be even better but you would lose so much groomer and backcountry fun that its not worth it imo.
Overall I really enjoyed them and they are a great ski to do all on. Price is also a huge plus
Thanks a bunch for chiming in with your experience! I agree, their stability at speed is probably their most surprising characteristic. K2 did a great job with the construction. Kept them light and playful, but still grippy and something you can trust.

i have really been absent in the skiing community the past 2 years. recently found out about these researching for new skis. holy shit where have these been all my life! seelm like i finally can replace my bdog 2016! had the poachers, which i loved, but i found them a bit too stiff. hoping to get my hands on these! gonna be a long season for me with 100+ days on snow. thank you for the great review!
Yes yes yes!! You're going to love them. I think you're going to see a ton of K2 athletes skiing the Reckoner 102 this season. It's so much fun.
Mt. Hood is my home and I've been researching twin tips as looking to start doing jumps, butters and whatnot. My decision has been made! Thanks Jeff you guys at SE are the best!!

Tried reckoner 92. So much fun. Definitely one of playful skies. Easy to ride. Just ordered 102 with hope that it adds a bit of stability. Thank you for your review.

Sick, I'm gonna use these as my new Tele ski.
Do you have any experience with the J Skis allplay? If so, how would you say these stack up against those. I just found out my local shop is demoing these this year. I have a pair of allplays that I have yet to mount bindings on and debating on a couple other skis including these. Just got back into skiing a couple seasons now after a 15+yr hiatus and the ~100mm twin category is most appealing to me. Thanks for all the videos. They are appreciated. I've sent multiple friends to check them out. Even if it's just for them to get a better understanding of how different materials and shapes affect how a ski maneuvers
Pretty similar feel to be honest. I do think the Reckoner feels a little softer in the tips and tails, but I also think it has better edge grip underfoot thanks to the Spectral Braid carbon application. The carbon in the Allplay is just a vertical stringer, so doesn't provide as much edge grip as the K2 build. Overall, they're both relatively soft flexing all-mountain skis with quite a bit of freestyle influence in their design, but they do feel a little different.
Great, informative video as always💪🏻 As i am looking forward to buy a 2nd pair of skis (definitely freeride skis, as i‘m currently just on salomon xdr 80 ti‘s and freeriding all the time), would you recommend the reckoner 102, atomic bent chetler 100, Black crows camox or even something else? Im looking for something light, very playful, smooth and easy to turn, also in very deep snow, as i am Austrian.

All 3 of those skis could work really well! Camox would give you the most stability at speed, without taking away too much of the easy-going, easy to turn feel. Reckoner 102 is the softest flexing and arguably the most playful, at least I think most skiers would find it the most playful, but K2 also works in good torsional stiffness. The Bent Chetler kind of falls somewhere in between those 2 skis, although it has higher camber height, so it doesn't feel as surfy in a lot of situations... Hope that helps!

So much fun! We were a little bummed the jumps were closed, but just playing around on knuckles and side hits is so fun.

Don't know if you have skied any Factions but I have the 2018 Candide 3.0 108 under foot very soft tip and tail but if you have however would you compare i like them but sometimes they feel a little too soft. I don't ski park anymore so my favorite thing to do is big giant s turns. I love twin tips and wider skiis would you recommend these or is the a different one?
The longitudinal flex pattern is pretty similar to the Candide 3.0, but the Candide doesn't touch the Reckoner in terms of edge grip in my opinion. It's one of the best skis I've ever been on in terms of providing a soft longitudinal flex, but strong torsional stiffness. You can bend it into crazy arcs and really play with carving turn shape without them washing out, which is sweet. From your description, the Enforcer 104, Ranger 102, and BLACKOPS Holyshred all come to mind as skis that might work for you too, especially since you don't ski park anymore. The Reckoner 102 might have too much park-bias for you, even though that's not necessarily its main focus.
Looking at buying these for upcoming season. I have been skiing the marksmans since 2017. It’s time for an upgrade. I’m probably 70/30 all mountain/park. I’m 6’2 220lbs athletic build. Would the 102 reckoner or prodigy 3.0 be better for me?
I finally started hitting nice nose and tail butters last season. Btw my marksmanship we’re 177 and I still killed it on icy terrain skiing fast. I will probably go up to 184s though everyone says I’ve been skiing to small of skis.
I love the Reckoner 102 and I like the idea of replacing the Marksman with a 184 Reckoner 102 a lot. I think you'll find it's even better on firm snow, still playful, and should actually be easier for nose and tail butters too. Softer flex in that portion of the ski, really helps for stuff like butters.
How does this compare to the Ben Chetler 100? Love your reviews - keep up the good work!

Pretty similar overall. In my opinion the Reckoner feels softer flexing in the tips and tails, but also a little smoother. The Bent Chetler feels lighter and more energetic. If you load up the tips or tails of the Bent Chetler they like to pop you out of it. The Reckoner allows you to smear, butter, etc a little more easily.
Do you have an idea of how these compare to the Sir Francis Bacon? Sick review
Pretty similar, although I find the Reckoners have more torsional stiffness and thus more edge grip. More of a snappy flex pattern too, so they carve better. The SFB floats better, but the Reckoner is more well-rounded.
How does this compare to the Line Sakana for all-mountain skiing on piste? (like Big Sky MT)
Much softer flexing, easier edge release, and more playful overall. The Sakana is like a wide slalom ski with a swallow tail.
I want to by the reckoners 102 but I dont kniw where i should mount my binding. I'd use them as an all mountain park ski as well as in powder. I thought about -1/-2 from center, what would you reccomend?

The -2 is right on the factory line, which we've found to be a good blend of freestyle performance as well as all-mountain freeride. I'd go that route. Have fun, great skis!

Yeah, definitely similar. Reckoners are a little stiffer, or maybe just more of an energetic, snappy flex pattern. More torsional stiffness in the Reckoner too.
Do you know the turn radius on the k2 reckoner 102 163 because I’m determining if I should get here for next year. I’m 12, 13 next year would you recommend getting a junior ski instead
163 cm Reckoner 102 turn radius is about 15 m. It's a relatively lightweight, soft-flexing ski. You should be able to handle it as long as the 163 cm length isn't drastically taller than you. Hope that helps!
How would you compare them to a ranger 94FR or holyshred 98. i have a dedicated powder ski and a dedicated hard pack ski, so im looking for something in between with the added bonus of twin tips.

Hi Diego! Definitely a good comparison to those skis. Same width as the Ranger 102FR, so that's probably a closer comparison. The Reckoner 102 is, in my opinion, the most playful of those 3 skis. It's definitely the softest flexing in the tips and tails. The Ranger feels more energetic and responsive, the Holyshred smoother, more powerful, and more vibration damping, but the Reckoner 102 is the most playful and I'd also add it's the easiest to manipulate carving turn shape on because of the soft tips and tails. 3 awesome skis there, all of which are in the same category, but there are different feels between the 3 for sure.
These sound like a good replacement for my atomic blog 185. Something a bit narrower and a bit more playful, for skiing smaller mountains without massive amounts of blower pow.
Any idea on lengths ? I'm guessing 177, 185.
Hey Edmund! Yes, you're description there is a pretty perfect way to think of the Reckoner 102. We always have the length breakdown on the written review. On the Reckoner 102 it's 163, 170, 177, 184.
I’m here to look for my replacement for my beloved Atomic Blogs as well. Sounds like the Reckoner 102 could be the winner, as far as playful, nimble, all-mountain rocker-camber-rocker skis go.
I'm just under 5'8 and weight 155lbs. Will the 170 fit me for all mountain use?

would a center mount ruin the ski ?
Certainly not! A lot of skiers will be center mounting Reckoner 102s this season.
I have the marksman and the press skis the marksman is so much better I don't wanna ride thr press much might upgrade to these! Seems more the style ski that fits me.
If you like the Marksman, I can almost guarantee you'll like the Reckoner 102 too.
If I’m 177 cm tall is 170cm ski to small I want to ski powder but I mostly run groomers (Montana)
I'd go 177 on that ski since I found they ski a bit short and are on the light/flexible side of the spectrum. It's okay to go up if you're caught in the middle on this ski.

Feels a little lighter than the ARV, and softer flexing too, but also more energetic... It's a really interesting construction and it results in a very cool ski.
