The real question. is black knight shield knights brother, or shovel knights brother. he was definitely very loyal and protective of shield knight even when she was evil, very much like a protective older brother would be. throw in some lore about how shield knight trained under black knight and that's how he met shield knight or black knight could easily be shovel knights brother since they use the same fighting style. throw in some malfurion/illidan shit and you have brother in love with the same woman

Not just DLC, FREE DLC! They'll be adding modes where you can play as Plague Knight, Specter Knight, and I think Propeller Knight, at the very least. I doubt all of the bosses will be playable, though, since some are much larger than others.

There will be a local battle mode in which all the knights(I think that may include Hat Man and the traveling knights, though not 100%) that was also part of the stretch goal. Also included is a Gender-Swap mode, to do it before the Internet has to. On a side note, I'd really love to see Jesse to a LP of all the other knight's stories.
My favorite strat for the last boss is to 1,2,3 pogo then propeller dagger to where she moves, pogo her again, rinse and repeat. Was pretty fun but can be hard to aim since you can't see yourself.

I agree. This is an awesome game. It seems difficult, but fair (none of the B.S. 'difficulty' in some older games), has a reasonably good story, awesome mechanics, and a useful companion in that final fight! I can't wait for the SK DLC, and more importantly, Shovel Knight II!

As much as I love you Jirard, I really wish you hadn't told Jesse about the phase locket, it really put a downer on some of the playthrough. Still really enjoyed it though! Personally I found the dust knuckles made the final boss SUPER easy xD
Well if this game isn't a good reason for Kickstarter to exist i don't know what is...I don't like platformers and i don't play them...but i know a fenomenal game when i see one. Aand while for every Shovel knight there are 50 other crap/failed kicksterters i think it's worth it. Great series Jesse. Hope to see more with you and Gerard, especially the DLC for this.

2 years later and he still hasn't played through Plague of Shadows. If he found parts of Shovel Knight tough, he's gonna hate controlling and mastering Plague Knight and his jumping.
There isn't a single thing I didn't love about this game. It seemed to tick all the right boxes. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for Shovel Knight.
what i want to know is what was Black Knights deal? now that i think about it i would totally read a book series as kind of a prologue to the events of this game.

You can actually bounce more than three times on her head, you just need to lead her right and use the propeller dagger.
