This is a peice from an autobiography and the reason why I do not believe there will be a nuclear war...
'At the meetings I‘d become close friends with an American couple, Kathy and Gene McCaslin, who often travelled up from Yokohama to Tokyo by car, to attend the Sunday SGI Buddhist lectures. They lived in a large American-style house on the Atsugi Air Force Base, where Gene held a high-ranking position in the US Navy. Sometimes I’d catch a train down on Friday afternoon, spend the weekend at their house and then return to Tokyo by car with them on Sunday. Kathy and I got along like a house on fire and would often spend the entire weekend involved in deep conversation about the meaning of life. One night, when Gene returned home early and overheard me telling Kathy about the UFOs that I’d seen in Sydney in 1966, he joined our discussion and told me about a similar experience that he’d had in 1967, while on duty at the Malmstrom Missile Base in Montana. He’d never even told Kathy about it and before he started his story, he got me to swear a solemn oath to never reveal it to anyone. He and his working colleagues had witnessed a UFO, which he described as a very bright circular bluish-coloured light, hovering above a silo containing a nuclear missile which was aimed towards Russia. They then watched in awe as the UFO beamed down a ray of light that disabled the missile. The next morning, Gene learned that other missiles around the base had also been disarmed. After the event, all those who’d witnessed the incident were ordered to sign an agreement that they would not reveal what they’d seen. However, in recent years the truth has come out and the full story can now be read online at: www.cufon.org/cufon/malmstrom/malm1.htm
