Had the similar issue when I broke down and had my elderly mother with me who could barely stand. I was told to call the emergency services who said they'd get traffic officers out but that was a waste of time and eventually 3 hours later my recovery driver turned up. It's mad how long it takes to sort out a breakdown but I'm glad mine wasn't quite this bad.
i get the RAC are.... for want of a better word, crap. I cant however understand, why on earth, you would refuse them getting you home in a taxi, and delivering to you, your broken car the following day. I dont get it because, its a £300 car, and it's broken. 🤷♂ If it were a £50k+ car, your pride and joy - i would understand not wanting to leave it, but really? Why did you make that decision? I just dont get it.
@craig79819 because it's still my car and I didn't want it left in the corner of a dark car park to get delivered God knows when and in whatever condition. I just wanted to make sure I got it home at that point. It only takes someone to rob the cat or cut the soft top open and it's costing me money to fix it .
Buddy you have a MR2, for 300 Pounds, stop complaining.
I'm not complaining about the car ita great.

Terrible isn't it!
It's shocking they couldn't provide you with a direct tow home. Glad you got it sorted in the end though 👍🏽
I finally got home, and I also made an official complaint, and they compensated me. It was a loooooong day.
I'm 99percent I drove past you on the M25, M25 and M20 were just littered with breakdowns monday.
Where you in another mr2?
