Thank you for the recipe sweet lady. These are the recipes that are so comforting to families during a hard time. It's beautiful when family church family and neighbors care so much for each other.
This looks so good. It’s funny how people have changed over the years. When my wife and I get new neighbors we bake something for them. People think we are strange! Sad world really.
Hi Steve,I remember when new neighbors moved in always baked a cake usually a bundt cake .Not anymore your lucky to get a hello so sad what has happened to our world. God bless and love for everyone always stay safe and healthy. 🙏❤
Hello Ms Linda, My little brother watches your channel (he is 8 years old and loves to cook) because he loves watching food and cooking videos. We follow your recipes because they are so easy and he loves the sound of your voice. We gobbled up these potatoes last night ☺️ Edit: we added a handful of cheese on top because what little boy doesn’t like cheese? It was great!
Ms. Linda , i made these this week they are delicious and I am changing the name to Revival Potatoes. I have a friend who told me I should change to name to a better Positive name, I hope that's ok.
Oh my goodness this sounds wonderful ,and now you made me hungry , I've already brushed my teeth and ready for bed, WOW 😯, never knew that there was a recipe for potato's like this. Can't wait to try to make em👍👍😊 I agree , welcome back we missed you , God bless you as well.
Sounds delicious, and easy to make. Also not a 1001 ingredients. My kind or recipe. I will be making it. Thanks Linda! I like to hear Sam give his opinion on the foods you make. God bless you both.
Thank you Linda, so great to see you again. I'll have to replay to write down the recipe. I can't wait to try it. I never heard of these when I lived up north, but apparently it's a southern dish. I love the south.
Good Morning . Mrs .Linda and Mr. Sam . Glad to see both of you are back . Your funeral potatoe casserole . Looks so delicious . Thanks for sharing . The Lord Bless . Both of you always .
My first time watching your channel…your world famous cornbread was recommended by RUclips sensation, Phyllis Stokes and Son. Thank you for showing us great recipes. Be well ❤️
Thank you for sharing Linda, I love these potatoes I use the shredded potatoes and onions chopped small or sometimes I grate the onion. Have a blessed evening stay safe and healthy. 🙏❤🤗😊
Being from Virginia and Tennessee we've always made these but I like to see different versions and your recipe sounds better than any I've ever seen so I'm going to try them in place of what I normally do 😀 thank you as always for sharing your God-given talent with us ...Hope you are enjoying the cookbooks I sent you ❤️
Hi MS. Linda....I have never heard of the dish but it looks delicious...I'm thinking it would be a great lite dinner with a salad...thank you for sharing ...GOD bless you and Mr. Sam🙏❤
If you want something even better, I've been out of hash browns and substituted frozen tater tots. Stirred everything like you did including the tater tots, OMG is it fantastic. I also added an extra can of soup to it
At a funeral people take a casserole to the family or after the funeral everyone eats and everyone brings a dish. This dish is easy and comforting. That's how it got its name. More for the after funeral lunch. ( you can actually google how it got its name)
Hi Allan! It really is tasty. I prefer the shredded rather than the diced. I usually use the shredded but the diced was all I had. I hope you're doing well. Love and friendship, Linda
I love the way you “clean “ the bowls, cups cans . I get irritated with cooks that Don’t do that . I just don’t think the recipe is correct When so much of the ingredients are left behind . Love your way preparing things.
I did hear about funeral beans using large size Limas made in a casserole with brown sugar catsup etc upstaters had the tradition going years ago maybe someone out there knows the entire recipe
I think this is the same as a recipe called Calico Beans. It can be in a slow cooker. Taste of Home lists these ingredients: 1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean) 1 small onion, chopped 1 can (21 ounces) pork and beans 1 can (16 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained 1 can (16 ounces) butter beans, rinsed and drained 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup ketchup 4 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled 1 tablespoon cider vinegar 1 teaspoon prepared mustard 1 teaspoon salt Epicurious recipe for "Funeral Beans" lists these ingredients: (quite a big difference in vinegar!) 1 large can pork & beans 1 can green lima beans 1 can kidney beans 1 can butter beans ½ lb bacon ½ C vinegar 1 C brown sugar 1 tsp mustard
Hi I've never tried it with tater tots ....try it and find out but I'm sure there's a tater tot casserole on facebook you can use instead. TFW God bless

@@Handsthatcook Tell him he can start recycling them since we are all getting older and have probably forgotten them over the years. They’d sound new to me now.
Sorry you don't care for the name but that is the actual name of this recipe. It's good for a side dish too, not just for a wake or funeral. TFW God bless
@@Handsthatcook Sorry never heard of funeral potatoes. I tried to return to give you a thumbs up. And found it is a popular casserole on you tube. Named exactly as you stated. ,,,
