They will change slick scales/feathers. You will be able to pounce on them but not be able to hold on ad long. It will cause the pouncer to use more stamina.
Yeah of course we're all going to equip slick scales, it's usually our only defense against raptor. Can't even play allo anymore without getting gangked by 5 raptors since allo can't equip that hide 😂
Gratz on the 20K! I feel old remembering that "thanks for 1000 subs" video you made...not that long ago. Your mix of funny animations and good gameplay seems to be the magic combo(works on me at least).
if more creatures would be able to fight back a pouncer there would be no need for a hide that negates it,this patch is so unbalanced that some creatures are gone,i have seen servers that are completely absent of creatures that dont have either pounce or a hide to counter it,we got at least a few creatures made by modders that can hold theyr own like the Z-rex where they can use spacebar to play the shake off animation and theyr heads would lean toward both sides making you able to reach them whit your basic attacks,but otherwise just making them spend more stamina just wont do it,laten can just jump early and regain it all back in a second,making most big dinos just fodder for latens and hours of growth spent all useless
Should be able to smash them into a rock tbf or a tree. Would be nice if shakes would do 15% of your bite damage to them for every "space" . Also, dinos should have 2 hide slots, 1 for slick and one for other one.
The modded dinos didnt have slick they were just unpouncable at that moment bc the update just dropped, and next update slick wont make u unpouncable, just takes away more of the latens stam
Yeah, could be! I ended up using the clip of me trying to pounce the giga because it worked in the context. And I'm happy about the upcoming slick hide changes, but at the same time, crocs and storks will become a lot scarier😂
Theres a really big trade off with the slick hide. You can either avoid pounces completely but no longer have the normal hides you would have which could help with reducing damage and such, OR deal with pounces but have your normal hides. Ive seen a big decrease in people using slick over time but its for sure not completely gone. Also, I love watching people yeet themselves off of things after being pounced thinking it will kill you as well. Even if it did it doesnt matter because they still would loose more growth than you lol Was that Bars an admin? The two EOs I can see like actively logging off and knew they didnt die but if that Bars was logging it shouldnt have vanished because it fought back. If so I think its stupid an admin just vanishes from players attacking them, possibly even leading to said players death if they were going to be the food to save the,.
I first assumed the bars was admin, but I later learned that the server allows players to use teleport commands. Same with the trikes, we saw both of them move just before we attacked them but at the same time I guess as a big dino like trike you can just hit logout (and not wait the timer) when you are attacked and disappear before lil latens do enough damage..
@thegranadilla that's honestly kinda annoying to let anyone use tp commands. I understand for traveling a large map, but I'd assume if you're doing something like letting people tp whenever, there would be a rule about not being able to tp out of combat.
The thing is, a big dinosaur like Rex can do absolutely nothing against latens and other pouncers. Without an ocean nearby, it’s just an agonizing death. Also, pounce has a bug that instantly catapults you outside of the pounced dinosaurs range that makes it uncounterable

My only issue with the pounce is that slow dinos dont really have a chance, yeah they can press space and shake you off, then what? They cant catch you even if you're low or outta stam. Retreat, get stam back, pounce again. Some species don't have the special hide, like Eo for example, so they're just outta luck. Maybe just increase the amount of stam it takes to stay on in general.
every dino has their pros and cons, sadly trikes are insane in 1v1s and are crazy good at dps, they have no attacks behind them but have good turn radius. something like a barsboldia is super super tanks and it only takes like 1 slam until the raptors back off but it'd take like hours to dmg the bars

If you get attacked by a pack of Latens I get that, but 1 raptor shouldn't be able to wear down an Apex of any kind. The pounce should cost more and do less DMG to bigger dinos.

The whole time they get to do free DMG then when they dislodge they can just out run them and regain stamina. I'm just asking for less DMG or more stamina on bigger creatures. honestly i understand the frustration on both ends when it comes to pounce and slick hides, and hopefully when the raptors loose the bleed on their bites and bucking gets a buff things will be tolerable on both sides.

Has one common ability that gives immunity to the main ability of another creature(which is the only creatire to use it in vanilla i think) , making it significantly harder for them to even put up aa fight sounds like great game balance to me. Ive never played pot so this may be wrong though
Having slick hide means you cant equip for example defense hide so it also makes you vulnerable to other attacks. But luckily they are going to change the slick hide in the next patch

I could see them nerfing that hide and making you use more stamina or dealing less damage when pouncing onto a dino, I think it is kinda bass ackwards to add a unique new mechanic and then have something that completely negates it.
So losing cuz a rat pounced on your side and you can't hit it is more fun? yes you can shake em of, just for them to get stamina and do that again... some dinos are ok with it e.g. spino, but things like eo, styraco, bars, iggy, allo, they can't do anything against it.
when it comes to slick i tend to play dinos that can be sarco grabbed, i dont use it to counter raptors i use it to counter sarcos, witch are a threat to 90% of what i play.
For next time your friends are taken into the air, if you run under them and try to "catch" they will bounce off you and take no fall dmg. I saved my baby maip child like that xD
I wish they never added the pounce cause you cant play on official or so without dying to raptors but idk how it really is cause I prefer realism servers to avoid these things more xD I fear raptors more than a rex opponent or so. Being an apex means nothing anymore on most servers which is a shame. Wish they never changed anything to be honest, only the remodels were what I enjoyed and that specific hides dont give a debuff for you

I put this 2 months ago and now they added like 2 more grapplers and another one that can pick up so now i can see slick hide being worth it

Yes I think its confirmed that in the future slick hide will instead drain attackers stamina quicker :)
