This reminds me of that scene in Shabondy Island where Usopp asks Ryleigh if he knows anythig about the One Piece and Luffy gets mad and says something like he doesn't wanna know where the One Piece is or if it even exists, he just wants to have an awesome adventure and become the king of the pirates, meaning that, just like us the viewers/readers, what he cares about is the journey itself
Recently oda admitted he reads every fan letter he’s sent in fact he has an entire storage locker dedicated to storing all the letters he’s read cause he doesn’t want to get rid of any of them and the ones that aren’t in there are the ones he hasn’t read yet. Oh and he also donated a crap ton of money for relief efforts during the tsunami that hit Japan a couple years back under a false name cause he didn’t want to make a big deal of it and just donate to help and when it was revealed it was him his home town erected a statue of luffy for him as thanks. And they plan on doing this for the rest of the crew all across Japan. Just... god bless the beautiful bastard
The difference between Zoro and sanji is that Sanjis gag kinda got old in alblasta meanwhile Zoros horrendous sense of direction joke never fails to make me laugh
not even the final arc, he said it for wano arc. Its definitely not too late for new readers to catch and be part of the greatest point if the story thus far, we're currently fighing wano
@@gayfruit4411 as far as I am aware He never specified it to be for wano arc, so it is much more likely that he was referring to a war after wano is complete
Oda once donated the 800 million yen(300 million of which came from oda and the other 500 million coming from "Monkey D Luffy") to a town due to a terrible earth quake. As thanks for the donation, they erected statues of one piece characters made out of bronze. Those statues garnered so much tourist attention and made so much money back that they literally saved the town and put 2.67 billion yen into the local economy. One piece literally saved lives and the economy(in a way). *numbers may not be 100% accurate, correct them if im wrong, but regardless it really goes to show just how impactful one piece is even in real life
Wait till you read one piece the second time, it's like crack, all the story threads just reveal themselves and the curiosity and fascination of finding how everything comes together is literally like a treasure map
I rewatched OP not too recently. It takes the equivalent of 15 days to finish from the start to end. After I watched essentially a month of One Piece, I want to do it again, it really is like crack! One Piece really shines when you rewatch it
I honestly love how long One Piece, is because it takes it time, and builds the world, i swear One Piece, is probably the most hype anime around like there is so many shocking moments, and it actually makes me feel real emotion like i fucking loathe Akainu, they seriously make you hate that man.

Pedrito27 he releases a ton of info about the Strawhats and other characters that wouldn’t be important to the actual story. Like what their occupations would be if they lived in the real world or what country they’d be from.

Reminder that one piece will reach batman's total sales this year and oda is about to join the top 10 list of best selling authors in human history Update: by 19 july 2021, one piece has oficially surpassed batman, great job Oda
Last time I had checked it, one piece was the 3rd best selling comic in the world, beating spiderman and being just behind batman at 2nd and superman at first. Crazy

RIP Miura. Mangaka need rests and breaks like normal people. I don't want another great manga to end like berserk and many other. I hope Oda gets his rest and stays in good health.
Oooof, yeah, after hearing about Oda's schedule I got legit scared. It's sad to see artist's having to take that risk and I would rather see them having more healthy lifestyles and waiting a bit longer.
Agreed. Although Miura's death was caused by what is essentialy a biological freak accident where an injury to the aorta leads to blood forcefuly separates the layers of the aortic wall leading to rupture; usually (but not always) linked with hypertension and/or smoking. Exactly, how in the frick- also the seven warlords were also based on a whim..... they are one of the most important features in all of one piece even seeing more of them (1/3 of the story)then the final antagonists
@@kraiaikrai8962 yes, the warlords are ones of the reason why the story expands beyond the 5 years long scheduled. It's supposed to be Four Emperors Saga after East Blue.
Oda had plans for Kidd, but not the rest. The week of their reveal chapter his editors asked if he could make it more exciting, because the arc had been pretty light so far. He obliged.
My friend showed me a clip from the sabaody arc and I was really confused and I didn’t get it but the passion I saw in his eyes and the way he talked about one piece reminded of when I find a great show and want someone else to enjoy too. So for 2018 I made it my New Years resolution to watch one piece and for a first time in my life I completed a resolution in just 3 months with 840 episodes. And now I wait patiently for each new manga chapter. It truly becomes addicting.
@@ikhlasulamal8067 no no, there was only that many episodes made at that time when I binged it, I’m still very current with the anime and manga now. And I’m really enjoying the Wano arc. I even cosplayed Luffy-taro back when anime conventions were still around.
I feel like One Piece is one of the few series where people/readers will always remember the name of each island that exist in One Piece. Geography is Everything!
Rewatching this and hearing Jeff continue to say that Lyft has “bugs bunny” type powers just makes me in awe of Oda and how he could hide the truth under our nose this whole time. It’s amazing that we could point it out, but never figured it out.
The setup in One Piece is amazing. Jinbei was first mentioned in chapter 69 but wouldn't appear until chapter 528, over a decade later. And now, more than another decade later he has become one of the main characters.
“I love these wacky pirates more than my own friends and family- and you will too!” *Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave* ( and true)
No matter how much manga i read, shows i watch, games i play, I will never forget the day a man called Eiichiro Oda invited me to join him and his pals on a grand adventure. There's truly nothing quite like one piece.
Rereading the series recently. I realized something. Luffy isn't dumb, he's not just resourceful, he's generally clever, and possibly the most emotionally intelligent character in the series(which might be a specialty of his observation Haki). There is a bit in Whole Cake where Jimbei literally says that he tried to think what Luffy would do in response to Capone Bege's offer, and everyone else is sure it is something Luffy would turn down, but he takes it, because he can think strategically when he needs to. However, he went and built a crew of people who are better at doing their special things better than he can, including several great minds. Once he got Nami on his crew, he checked out on thinking except when she or one of the later addition brains aren't around, he makes decisions based on what he wants, and trusts the thinking to his people he outsources his planning to. And it becomes clear when he is far enough away from them for long enough and presented with problems he can't just punch, he will start thinking again, and start thinking well. And I really love that realization.
His crew knows this too. They have full trust in each other. Luffy knows that he can leave them behind without worrying and they know that he will always have their backs. They elevate each other in a way that no other supporting cast I think does. They compliment each other instead of just being there either as equals or and comedy. They have their roles and excel in them as competent people in their own right who dont necessarily need Luffy but with him they can reach new hights.
Man, one of the reasons why I fell in love with One Piece as a kid was the feeling that Luffy understands something deeper than I do. The way he became extremely serious in specific circumstances made it apparent that Luffy was way wiser than he was portrayed as occasionally. Luffy understands the most important layer of things, while other's are unaware. He understands what truly is ethical and valuable, and that's why we like him. He is goofy and stupid until the moment arrives where he has to be serious so nothing against his ethics occurs. And we viewers mostly agree with his ethics, he just lives as if it was not apparent based on his behavior and appearance that he too understands these things, maybe even better than most.
Bon Clay is the single most ridiculous absurd over the top joke of a character ever created. And yet he rules over all other nakama as the greatest bro who ever lived. I honestly dont know what luffy did to gain such a deep love and respect from bon clay but dang man, its beautiful. We need him to show up again somehow. And im sure he will manage to sacrifice himself to save luffy yet again in the process.
@@ulyssesglemao6783 Well, be it in Europe or the US, people in manga communities tend to think if something is popular, it has to be rather low quality (especially in shonen nekketsu, which is the fast-food of manga). So One Piece being the best-selling of all time kinda works against it, because seinen edgelords just assume it must mean it's average to bad, when really it happens to be both number one in sales and in writing
This is why I dislike Toei. For all the fame and respect we give Oda as a manga author and as a person, Toei destroys it all by their constant irritating acts of dragging/milking the anime or adding more fan service just to generate more popularity and revenue. Many anime fans don’t even understand that Oda is not the one running the anime, so they just go after him as a money hungry author when we all know that’s not the case at all. Oda has put so much care and love into his story and doing what he can to please himself and his fans, but Toei’s selfish acts continue to destroy and falsely defame Oda and he’s the one who most likely bears the brunt of it. The anime is amazing, but I wish Toei would respect Oda’s own wishes more.
I do enjoy the anime, but the pacing is so whack, especially in the new world. They need to make a super cut that cuts out all the feet dragging. Most arcs, once all the repetitiveness is cut, would only be a few hours.
@@breeze5926 There is the fan made 'One Pace' for that. Its actually really well made and has edited the majority of the anime, including everything after Water 7 in its entirety.

I've been simping for one piece for YEARS, literal Years. And every time i sing its praises i would always get put down "naw its too long" or "it doesn't get good until X chapters" naw man One piece has been GOAT for years.
What's funny is for me, one piece hit RIGHT off the bat. the very first episode, seeing luffy burst out of that barrel I KNEW that he was a character i'd love forever. He was carefree, happy as can be and knew what he wanted in life. Oda and by extension Luffy are legends.
Geoff, I come here to find anime to watch while I'm waiting for One Piece to get ahead enough to binge again, but watching you descend into madness over the same property is a joy.
Since the Yonta Maria Grand Fleet (as well as the rest of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet) is sure to take part in it, and since it consists of 56 (of course) ships and 4300 crewmen, only two of which aren't unnamed fodder, I really hope that whatever happens during that last arc, it will have naval battles like the ones Oda always wanted to make only to be discouraged by his editors. Oh, and there's also Happo Navy, about a thousand strong and surely also with multiple ships.
Just imagine. The Revolutionaries waging war with the Government at Mariejios while Luffy is claiming the One Piece (and also likely fighting Blackbeard). They're on the backfoot, when all of a sudden, the Thousand Sunny crashes into Pangea Castle using Franky's tech to propel it from the sea. Then, just like Shanks heralded the end of Marineford, the King of the Pirates arrives to fight with Dragon and his revolutionaries for the freedom of the whole world. B/c remember, Luffy declared war on the government back at Enies Lobby. He's fulfilling that promise now. I don't know if that's how it'll go, but man, just thinking about it at all gives me goosebumps.
I don't know which is more impressive: The subtle weaving of G-Force shilling throughout plot-relevant shout outs, or the tone of religious fervor usually associated with shouts of "Muad'dib".
@@mothersbasement My one complaint about the video is that you really missed the opportunity to make a joke about how much better Franky would run if he switched from soda to G-Fuel.
Usopp: Tells a ridiculous lie. Oda: Okay let's make that real in 800 chapters. (Literally every lie Usopp ever tells becomes truth later on in some capacity)
Fun fact: to this day we don't know Luffy's actual dream, but just his goal. The only hints we have to it are Ace and Sabo reacting to it the same way two other people did to Roger's dream (won't say who because of spoilers)
yeah there is a good theory that it is That he wants to have a party with the whole world. cause you know how after every arc there is a party? yeah so when he defeats the world government there is gonna be a world size party. i think it fits really well
The fights aren’t even that bad. It’s just the choreography that’s a little lackluster in comparison to other manga and anime, but the stakes and importance of each fight surpasses those of the others in many aspects at times.
@@vgnhdhe that’s the same in 99% of manga. And unlike crappy ones like db that kill them for sad points then bring them back oda only does so if they serve a purpose being dead not just needlessly sad. Ace served luffy in getting stronger and made him more mature. Merry signified the crew changing as the ship and not plying around as pirates but as real ones. Zoro says they aren’t playing a game. Death in one piece mostly have a meaning, and aren’t undone. Like again db where goku and piccolo died for reason but were brought back...
One Piece is literally one of the things that I weigh whenever I get really low and dark and ask myself "why should I keep living?" and its quite possible that I wouldnt be alive today if one piece wasnt there to keep me going through some of those dark days. 15 years ago I started reading onepiece. Back then, I was thinking what a cool battle manga. So his goal becoming pirate king and recruited cool 'nakama'. I am enjoying Zoro Vs Mihawk, Baratie Arc, Drum Kingdom, Alabasta Saga, Ace Introduction, Skypiea Battle, Shandora Flashback, Merry Repair Saga in Water 7, Robin Abduction to Enies Lobby and planning to stop reading at Thirller Bark. I know it is great but how long it is gonna end? So I stopped till someone tell me, Luffy had to save Ace. Wondering what happed during my absent, so I decided to came back to read. And I am thrilled, it was one of the best and saddest arc from every manga that ever I read. At that point I decided, "Okay I need to completed this manga, no matter how long this gonna go. I will commit to finised this together". So I decided to read weekly and re-read some of early chapter to remind me whats going on. And oh my God, It is the best. It evolve cause my understanding have grown too. Every arc bring something new to me. Elbaf relationship from Dorry & Brogy, BonClay friendship, Bellamy Ignorance, Black Beard Introduction and so on. It feel more alive and connected. Oda had planned it all from begining. It is the best world building/ adventure manga. It have funny & relatable character, good driven story, real world problem/reference and the most important of all. Oda write Onepiece from his heart, it takes a lot of dedication, passion and bravery. He teach us, Onepiece reader a lot of things. Oda-san is one of the few writers that I hold such monumental respect for. I can only dream that my own writing will come to a tenth of his skill. This is a man that has been telling an epic for over twenty years, starting his his early twenties, thus working on it for more then half his life, who's kept so many threads going to their payoff since the beginning. There are very few things in the manga that are there just to be there and I love it. I could gush endlessly but I shall hold my tongue.

Next to the "Does X fruit affect genitals?" question, the most common one has to be "Reader: Is this X's birthday? *Makes pun about character with number sounds in Japanese* Oda: Yes." They were so frequent that he had to stop accepting those questions and now there are calendars full of every character's birthday, literally thousands of them, filling up every day.

Oda is quite amazing as a mangaka and as a person. I think it was a few years back now that a child said to Make A Wish Japan that they wanted to know the ending of One Piece. Oda told them in private so only they knew and jokingly begged them to not reveal it to the press.
One piece is probably one of the greatest things that humanity has ever created. Not kidding, its just that good! "Fishman Island was kind of a drag" bruh it's in my top 5 arcs and that is a very competitive bracket. I still get teary eyed over Otohime and Fisher Tiger's deaths whenever I reread/rewatch.
The moment when Fisher Tiger revealed that he was a slave and he despises humans so much that he would rather died than have their blood in him but he did not want his hatred to be passed on like Otohime preached in her drunken speech asking to let the children see and decide for themselves. Then cutting back to Hody and Shirahosi, one being what Otohime feared the most and the other being what she wanted. I can’t properly put it into words but how Oda used the story of Otohime and Fisher Tiger side by side, each with pupils who inherited their will (Shirahosi and Jimbei) and depicted how racism will be handled in One Piece ending with the absolute masterclass narration box and scene “The path to the sun”. Fishman Island is easily one of my favorite arcs in One Piece.
I do like it but as a doctor the whole blood transfusion thing was a little hard for me to suspend disbelief on. I realize this is a world with literal dinosaurs and a guy that is made out of rubber but for some reason that bothered me.
I've rewatched this video about as many times as I've re-read One Piece. Hearing someone talking about something I love with as much love for it as me is just a really nice and heartwarming feeling.

I've been reading one piece weekly for 20 years, started in 2001 crazy thinking back to it. I got the first novel back when I turned 7 as a birthday present from my best friend, back when our family moved. I lost contact with those friends long ago, but one piece is still a thing treasure thanks to them.
And the fact that One Piece only has a single Author compared to the massive list of the two other titles really speaks a lot about Oda's capabilities.
ik it's an adventure, but I really think the slice of life aspect of One Piece is underrated. These days we rarely ever see the crew just relaxing and living at sea and continuing to build their friendships. I've heard of a bunch of headcanons that just makes the series feel even shorter. Like how maybe Robin tells Chopper bedtime stories, Brook plays the violin while Sanji cooks, Ussop and Zoro working out together, Ussop and Franky toying with some robotics, Nami and Luffy picking tangerines, Robin using her dv to massage Zoro, Ussop and Chopper playing I spy, Nami talking abt weather invention ideas with Franky, etc
Out of JoJo, Hunter, and One Piece. This one def felt like the simplest and plain with nothing but praise coming out of readers. I've almost caught up to JoJo, started Hunter, and One Piece will definitely start before too long. I don't wanna miss out.
I'm reading stone ocean rn, finished hxh's anime and am caught up in one piece. Up until now, Jojo felt like a good one but not as great as ppl make it out to be, I'm sure I'm missing on a lot of pop culture references so maybe that's why. HxH is really good, top 10 material, even tho I'm still waiting to know if there'll be an anime adaptation for the rest of the manga so that I can decide if I should read it or not.
but one piece, op is something else, I can't say it's the best for sure bc I haven't watched berserk, monster, vagabond, 20th century boys and oyasumi punpun but I don't need that to know it'll always be my favorite. despite all the flaws it might have, according to haters(some are kinda right, others not at all)it doesn't matter bc it gets in your feels in a way that bruh... Really, please enjoy it, it's a lot more complex than it seems, u'll be surprised
@@sinkerdas Facts, i think jojo is a fun story with interesting fights, but i wouldn't consider it one of the best until part 7. And hxh is great, but one piece is just better imo.
Oda's art is seriously underrated. The goofy style isn't a hindrance, it's an enhancement. When something crashes into a building and the whole structure *bends and curves inwards*, you feel the impact. Exaggeration is not a bad thing, best seen in how Oda draws people crying. Luffy's power being rubber allows for some crazy and amasing angles and shots of him stretching to hit opponents and Oda takes advantage of that all the time. His use of black and white to make amazingly striking final shots are mindblowing. And anyone who claims characters in One Piece doesn't change or develop can bite me. I'm convinced they either weren't paying enough attention or just haven't read/watched it at all. The character development in OP is actually surprisingly subtle, but it's so good.
When you join the epic journey that is One Piece you no longer can escape it! I'm a fan for over 10 years and it's the only anime/manga that I religiously follow every week without taking a break. My passion for One Piece is the same now as when I caught up with the series in the Thriller Bark arc.
yet i am the type of fan who goes out of their way to get behind, all so i can enjoy the binge again. I never have to fear forgetting, either. It takes only a moment to remember everything that is going on in "my second reality life".
It makes my mind melt knowing just how high I'll have to climb and how hard I'll have to work, but it's my dream to one day create a story that can surpass this masterpiece...
I decided to give One Piece a try last year and it was a little rough at first watching Syrup Village arc but when it started getting really good I couldn’t stop watching. It took me 3 months to at least get up to ep 1000. What great journey it was.
I made the mistake of starting One Piece when near the end of my first semester in college. At the time there were around 600 chapters, just near the end of Fishman Island I didn't pass the majority of my exams and flunked out. This isn't a bit, this really happened to me
Thankfully I started it in my last yeah of college and had very little classes. It was in the middle of Dressrosa. Just...all day and night was watching it. God it would have ruined me if my course load was any different
College was around the time i dropped off of one piece right around the start of dressrosa, can guarantee wouldn't have made it if i kept reading one piece
For me l caught up to one piece a month or so before my final high school exams and forsook studying whilst binge reading one piece. Luckily, l passed one subject.
The problem with One Piece:
You want to see how it ends
But you don't want to see it end
I want sensei to draw a new series. About robots, if he still wants that.
I want it to end because I want Oda to get some sleep 😭

Sup with that profile name tho
A king of Pirates if you will

Just imagine that the Strawhat is gonna be the center of that war give me chills
Wano has already been pretty much as big as Marineford, so even bigger than this is going to be crazy.
Don't forget the ancient weapons.

Don’t we know luffys two goals. Surpass shanks and claim the one piece as his means to surpass shanks.
The fights aren’t even that bad. It’s just the choreography that’s a little lackluster in comparison to other manga and anime, but the stakes and importance of each fight surpasses those of the others in many aspects at times.
Well it's more fantasy than battle
There are no stakes in one piece because the main cast will never die
@@vgnhdhe Except Brook has already died! Yohohoho!
@@vgnhdhe maybe, and while I'm not a fan of Oda's aversion to permadeath, it does mean that actual deaths hit that much harder.
Another example of long term storytelling with One Piece is when they are at Fishman Island and they call back to Arlong Park and how it was influenced by the Amusement Park in Sabody. Makes you re-read Arlong Park arc in a different light.
When Luffy's crew reunites with Vivi and Carue , that's gonna be a glorious moment . I'm waiting for that day when we see even Vivi's pet duck Carue as a legitimate crewmate sailing all the way to Raftel . The legendary pet duck with a 50 berry bounty needs to be a thing .

For example Usopp insecurity during Syrup Village Battle, Nami kindness and heartwarming family in Arlong Park, Luffy Miracle in Louge Town, Laboon and Crocus encounter at begining of Grand Line. Elbaf relationship from Dorry & Brogy, BonClay friendship, Bellamy Ignorance, Black Beard Introduction and so on.
It feel more alive and connected. Oda had planned it all from begining. He connect the dots, he makes history and plan from each supporting character. So almost everyone have role to contribute to story. Onepiece is not just random good battle manga. It is the best world building/ adventure manga. It have funny & relatable character, good driven story, real world problem/reference and the most important of all. Oda write Onepiece from his heart, it takes a lot of dedication, passion and bravery.
He teach us, Onepiece reader a lot of things. It is not just entertaiment, it have ideal and value for us to carry into the real world. Onepiece will go on for another 5 years (extimation). I hope we will reach the good closure. It doesn't have to be perfect, cause we already had great adventure during these years. I just hope Oda can finish his story and have good wonderful life.
Note: If yo haven't read OnePiece. It is good time to read. You already have more than +1000 chapter. You will have enough reading material to get hooked and don't have to endure like us. (our weekly chapter waiting). We also have access to HD anime videos. It has colour, voice actors, and fantastic music. Join our adventure today cause it will be harder for you to find motivation to join later. The chapter will grow more, and you will make more excuse. Believe me it is worth your time.

I realize this is a world with literal dinosaurs and a guy that is made out of rubber but for some reason that bothered me.

ik it's an adventure, but I really think the slice of life aspect of One Piece is underrated.
