The correct method for abandoning your car with powerlines on it, is somewhat different. As you said, ONLY abandon the car if it starts to catch fire. But if it does? 1. Remove your seatbelt and open the door all the way. 2. Stand on the EDGE of the frame. Use the door for support, but do NOT touch the ground! 3. When you are ready, let go of the car and *hop down and land on both feet at the same time* Don't try to jump far! You want to land in a stable position, with your feet close together. *WARNING! You may feel a tingle. Don't panic and try to run* or you'll be dead. 4. Keep your feet flat on the ground, then shuffle away from the car, heels no farther forward than the back of your toes. Try not to rush, stay calm, keep stable, and shuffle your way to safety. If your feet spread, that will create a difference in electrical potential, and you'll go up like a blowtorch. Keep shuffling away until you are at least 30 feet away from the wires.

I work for the state and had to call in because I never got a call saying to stay home and I wasn't going to drive in a *tornado*. People here just... act like they have no idea what a tornado is or what it can do. They're always like "oh so a really windy storm? As an Australian (NSW born, QLD resident), "burnover" is absolutely the last thing you want to hear any fireperson say when on duty. The view you see in that video, is far better than our fire men and women saw that day. Or any day they fight our bush fires. They would have been lucky to see even a meter in front of them at the time. Also, we dont have "brush" fires, they're bush fires. They consume so much of our bushland and destroy alot of our native animals homes, as well as killing our native animals. Thankfully it does help sprout fresh new greenery, but it swallows so much established bushland at the same time, and only mother nature and time can replace the animals lost to the bushfires. Summer is our worst time for bushfires, cos we can get over 50°C (120°F-ish) in places.

I'm not a expert on agriculture or grass stuff or even on fire department things but you said that a lot of dry grass is burning?! But why is that so? Would it be a good idea to have livestock there and eat the grass? The pee and poo is fertilizer and could inrich the soil which can store more carbon and water. Maybe that could reduce wast areas of just dead and dry grass which is fire fuel. I had seen similar areas of grass in Germany too and there was few horses eating a lot. Few weeks later and a but of rain the grass was beautiful green and healthy and even if other areas just next to it was still half brown.

    • @winterashcrochet
      @winterashcrochet 15 дней назад +7

@imtheeastgermanguy5431 we have measures in place to try and prevent such large bushfires, we do what's called "backburning". It's when the fire departments pre burn area most prone to bushfire, but they do it under controlled environment and under supervision. It encourages the grass and trees to green up again and gets rid of the dry grass that is (like you said) fuel for fires. The reason we have dry grass is because the temperatures get so hot, it's hard for the grass to keep the moisture in it or given to it. Plus we have large spells of no rain or very little rain, which also makes it hard for the grass to remain green. Then you also have the bandit element to bushfires, where people are starting the fires, whether with a tossed cigarette out the car window, or a person actually setting fire to something, and those fires can mostly get under control, but it's not always the case unfortunately.

@@winterashcrochet I understand what you mean and it seems that the backburning is a useful tool but the problem is that there are still emissions, smoke and toxic gases. I experienced a smoked city few years ago where you could see just few meters away and everyone got headache and breathing issues. Allan savory said in a TED talk "it must decay biological!" and he is absolutely right because it's much easier and less harmful to the area and the citizens

@@winterashcrochet The Aboriginal People used to burn the bush on the regular. So much so, that the landscape and wildlife evolved around the process. All the plants of the bush evolved around fire. Eagles and hawks learned to follow the fires to clean up dead snakes, mice and lizards. But within the last 20 years or so, the birds have been seen *carrying burning branches* to unburned areas in order to flush out the prey! Apparently they're rather annoyed with us for not burning off the Bush every years, so they're doing it themselves.

It looks like the foward team was backing away from the white car that was barreling towards it. They might have been a bit panicked too. ✝️THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "the last age in which God is saving man from the imminent destruction of this old world"
(It took tens of thousands of years of history for humanity to get to where they are today, but the humanity I created in the beginning has long been mired in decay. Humanity responds only with disgust to My demands, temporarily agreeing to those, and do not sincerely share in My joys and sorrows in life. When the day comes, the suffering of anyone who worships Me will be easier to bear than you. The extent of your faith in Me, in truth, is not superior to Job--even the faith of the Jewish Pharisees is superior to yours-therefore, if the day of fire comes, your suffering will be more intense than the Pharisees when Jesus rebuked them, than that of the 250 leaders who opposed Moses, and than that of Sodom under the scorching fire of its destruction. When Moses struck the rock, and the water that Jehovah gave gushed forth, it was because of his faith. When David played the lyre in praise of Me, Jehovah-whose heart was full of joy-it was because of his faith. When Job lost his flock that filled the mountains and the immeasurable wealth, and his body was filled with painful boils, it was because of his faith. Peter was able to follow Jesus Christ because of his faith. He was crucified for Me and gave a glorious testimony also because of his faith. When John saw the glorious image of the Son of man, it was because of his faith. When he saw the vision of the last days, especially it was all because of his faith. The reason why most of the Gentile nations claim to have received My revelation, and know that I have returned to the human body to do My work among people, is also because of their faith. All those who are struck by My harsh words but are comforted by them and saved-did they not do so because of their faith?)
      Almighty God said
It TOOK tens of THOUSANDS of YEARS of HISTORY for HUMANITY to REACH where they are TODAY, but the humanity that I CREATED in the BEGINNING has LONG been MIRED in DECAY. HUMANITY is no LONGER the HUMANITY that I DESIRE, and thus, in My EYES, people no LONGER DESERVE to be CALLED HUMANITY. ☀️
RATHER, they are the SCUM of MANKIND that SATAN has CAPTURED, the ROTTEN walking CORPSES that SATAN POSSESSES and USES to CLOTHE. People have no faith in My existence, nor do they welcome My coming. Humanity responds only with disgust to My demands, temporarily agrees to them, and does not sincerely share in My joys and sorrows in life. Because people think I'm mysterious, they show Me an annoying smile, their behavior will comfort the powerful, because people know nothing about My work, especially My mood at the moment.
I WILL be HONEST with you: When the DAY COMES, the SUFFERING of anyone who WORSHIPS Me will be EASIER to BEAR than YOURS. The SIZE of your FAITH in Me, in the TRUTH, is NOT GREATER than that of JOB--even the FAITH of the JEWISH PHARISEES is GREATER than YOURS--that is why, if the DAY COMES the day of FIRE, your will be STRONGER SUFFERING than the Pharisees when JESUS rebuked them, than that of the 250 leaders who opposed Moses, and than that of Sodom under the scorching fire of its destruction. ☀️
When MOSES smote the ROCK, and the WATER that JEHOVAH gave GUSHED FORTH, it was BECAUSE of his FAITH. When DAVID played the LYRE in PRAISE of Me, JEHOVAH--whose HEART was FULL of JOY--it was BECAUSE of his FAITH. When JOB lost his FLOCK that FILLED the MOUNTAINS and IMMEASURABLE WEALTH, and his BODY was FILLED with PAINFUL BOILS, it was BECAUSE of his FAITH. When he HEARS My VOICE, JEHOVAH, and SEES My GLORY, JEHOVAH, it is because of his FAITH. ☀️🙏
PETER followed JESUS CHRIST because of his FAITH. He was CRUCIFIED for Me and GAVE a GLORIOUS TESTIMONY also because of his FAITH. When JOHN saw the GLORIOUS IMAGE of the SON of MAN, it was because of his FAITH. When he SAW the VISION of the LAST DAYS, ESPECIALLY ALL it was BECAUSE of his FAITH. 🛑🙏
The REASON why MOST of the GENTILE NATIONS CLAIM to have RECEIVED My REVELATION, and KNOW that I HAVE RETURNED in HUMAN BODY to do My WORK among PEOPLE, is also BECAUSE of their FAITH. ALL those who are STRIPPED by My HARSH WORDS but are COMFORTED by them and SAVED--have they not DONE the same because of their FAITH? 🙏☀️
Those who BELIEVE in Me but still suffer hardships, haven't the world rejected them too? Those who live outside of My word, who run away from experiencing trials, are they not all floating around the world? They are like autumn leaves that are falling everywhere, there is nothing to rest them, especially they don't have My words of comfort. ☀️
Although they are not followed by My chastisement and refinement, are they not beggars floating everywhere, wandering the streets outside the kingdom of heaven? ☀️
Is the world really your resting place?
Will you really, by avoiding My chastisement, receive the smallest smile of gratitude from the world? Can you really use your momentary pleasure to cover up the emptiness in your heart, an emptiness that cannot be hidden. You can fool anyone in your family, but I will never be fooled. Because your faith is so little, to this day, you still have no power to find any of the wonderful gifts of life. I urge you: it is better for you to sincerely spend half of your whole life for My sake than to spend your whole life in vanity and misery for the flesh, enduring all the suffering that a human being can barely bear. What is the use of esteeming yourself highly and running away from My chastisement? ☀️
What is the use of hiding yourself from My panhandling chastisement only to reap eternal shame, eternal chastisement? In fact, I do not make anyone obey My will. If a person is really willing to submit to all My plans, I will not treat them badly. But I NEED all PEOPLE to BELIEVE in Me, just as JOB BELIEVED in Me, JEHOVAH. 🙏
IF your FAITH is GREATER than that of THOMAS, your FAITH will RECEIVE My PRAISE, in your FAITHFULNESS you will FIND My HAPPINESS, and you will SURELY find My GLORY in YOUR DAYS. ☀️
However, those who believe in the world and believe in the devil have hardened their hearts, just like many in the city of Sodom, with grains of sand blown by the wind in their eyes and offerings from the devil in their mouths , whose only nadir thoughts have long since been claimed by the evil that has taken over the world. THEIR MINDS were ALMOST COMPLETELY CAPTURED by the DEVIL of ANCIENT TIMES. Therefore, the FAITH of MANKIND has been BLOWN AWAY, and they do NOT even NOTICE My WORK. All they can do is either TREAT My WORK LIGHTLY or SCRUTINIZE it, BECAUSE they have LONG been FILLED with SATAN'S POISON. 😪🙏

It was the freeway where it turned to go towards downtown, lined up perfectly with the freezing wind, a Volkswagen had a "spin out", took out a bus and the free for all started. 600+ cars involved. Friends who saw it coming shot up the off ramp at the very beginning and watched what they said was like "ping-pong" played out by cars. Nearly broke some car insurance companies.

I live in Ishikawa Japan and was at home for the New Year’s Day earthquake. I don’t live on the Noto peninsula but we were still only 65/70 miles from the epicenter off Suzu and I’ll tell you it was terrifying. I’ve been here for almost 20 years and had felt the aftershocks from the 2011 earthquake. That was nothing compared to this. My friend has a home in Nanao, the closest town to the prefectural capital of Kanazawa, and he just got running water back at his house there this month (May 2024, five months after the quake). My mother and brother and I were stuck inside Walmart in a town not far from Clarksville that day. The power was out and the sirens were blaring, and we ended up abandoning our groceries and fled home when the storm calmed. The whole town was blacked out and the tornado that hit trashed quite a few buildings and businesses. It was terrifying, but thankfully our neighborhood was okay.

If in a sudden stop with ice situation, like these people, either stay in your car or run to the guardrails and get over ASAP. Do not stand in the road, do not stand by your car, do not stand beside the guardrails. GET OVER. If still in your car, look around, see if clear, then run out (especially if you're at the back of the pileup and you're a little car).

I can't believe you included Ida on here, and the terrifying tornado outbreak it spawned in PA. I'm from the area and went through this storm... On a bicycle. This is the craziest thing that's ever happened to me.
I was working at a nearby Trek store at the time. I rode my bicycle in to work, about a 15mi mostly flat commute along the river. I knew we were supposed to get stormy weather that day, but I was downplaying it, and thought I could just leave before it got bad.
Well, it got bad, and it got bad immediately. There was spotty clouds and rain throughout the day, then it started pouring. Minutes later, the local creeks around us overflowed into the parking lot, and started seeping into the store. I SWEAR TO GOD one customer still came in and asked if we were open.
We left minutes after that, me on my bicycle. It was a Trek FX 4, and I felt confident that once I got out of the valley I could just ride home like through any other rain I've done in the past.
Well, I was very wrong. All of the local streets were flooding and gushing with water from the creek. Many cars tried passing through flooded areas only for their engines to smoke and their cars to get totaled and stuck. I had to find a way out, fast.
I ended up walking through a foot of rushing water, which was scary enough. Got to the paved river trail and immediately got a flat tire. Took like 20 minutes to fix. I was trying to get home as fast and as safely as I could.
About halfway through, the trail dips down about 25 feet into a little roundabout. It was 3-4 feet under stagnant water, just outside the sewer treatment plant. It was my only way home. I refused to be on the busy roads with all the chaos. So I waded through God knows whatever was in that.
At this point it was getting dark, and there's just tons of stagnant water several inches deep, with tons of debris underneath. I was so nervous about getting another flat tire and being one step closer to walking the rest of the way. My lights also started dying then. Turns out even my waterproof lights can only handle so much water. I had a backup pair and had to keep an eye on battery.
I made it to my suburb and had to climb a huge hill. I tried one of the forks in the road, but there were several trees down. Made me realize that I was lucky that the only trees down on the trail I was able to walk over.
After over 2 hours, I finally made it home. Soaked to the bone. Bike totally gnarlied. And it was only afterwards that I learned of the Horsham tornado only a few miles away from me when I had been riding. Several other tornadoes surrounded the area as well shortly after I had left work. I was really counting my blessings that I made it home alive.
The river crested sometime overnight I think. I've actually been trying to find the data on exactly WHEN it crested, because it could have easily overflowed its banks while I was on the river trail, and I would have for sure been dead.
Sorry for the long ramble. Just wanted to share. Always wear a helmet and don't be a complete dumbass.

  • @flashoftruth

One might think this a "no-brainer" but, 1 of the first rules of any driving on ANY road when there is an emergency, is to move as FAR over to the right as possible, and this is for several reasons including but not limited to, emergency personnel needing to possibly get by as well as anyone like that guy, wanting to take their chances gettin the flock outta there, because it's pretty much a crap shoot at that point.
And if your vehicle just dies in the middle of the road, do your best to move it over to the side if possible, typically if there's an issue you can at least coast to the shoulder.
But DO NOT EVER just stop your vehicle in the middle of the freakin road if you can possibly help it.

One second, it's a beautiful day and everything is perfectly fine as he's driving down the road, with absolutely no signs of anything wrong...the next second, it's like BAM...he's extremely confused bc he has no idea what just happened. That was by the GoodYear blimp warehouse by Dixie Highway and Copans Road. There’s a Private Airport called Pompano Beach Air Park and the Tornado landed just the NorthWest corner of the area then it crossed over heading towards the East just North of the Private AirPort and ran along Copans Rd towards the beach. It was one heck of an experience!!
