  • In this tutorial, Milo shows how to make a gang mold of some complicated wood carved originals using Dragon Skin™ 10NV and Mold Star™ 31T platinum silicone mold making rubber.
    Multiple wooden figures are mounted to the base, vent areas are created, and a 2 piece silicone mold is made. Mold Star™ silicones cure to soft, strong rubbers which are tear resistant and exhibit very low long term shrinkage. Dragon Skin™ silicones are used for a variety of applications, ranging from creating skin effects and other movie special effects to making production molds for casting a variety of materials.

    I have a need to make a yellow turn indicator lens for a caravan . It is a curved piece and has been glued to the original red lens at manufacture . Its also glued to a white plastic backing shroud and can only be moulded from one side . Is there any way I can make this ? atm I made a mould of just the outside of the lens mixed and poured yellow epoxy and just kept swirling it around until it set enough not to flow back with gravity. t was not very successful. Any suggestions appreciated.

    Are the gloves vinyl? Vinyl does not inhibit with platinum silicone?

      @smoothon  2 года назад +1

      Vinyl gloves are recommended. They do not inhibit silicone.

    Can you Use Dragon Skin 10NV (Mold) with Dragon skin 10NV (cast model) without CURE INHIBITION???
    I hear Dragonskin 10NV does not work as a mold with other silicones...

    • @smoothon
      @smoothon  2 года назад

      That is correct. Per the technical bulletin, do not cast other tin or platinum based silicones into molds made with Dragon Skin™ 10NV. They are not compatible and inhibition will result.
