Nice little layout Matt! I live in a mobile home and am only running 4 by 8 myself .i am running 0-27 tubular track. That's the beauty of a "toy" train layout. Don't have to worry about everything being scale or prototypical. Just have fun and enjoy your trains!
Very nice compact layout and video. I love your track plan. I may use it for a small layout I'm planning. I have built a layout with Fastrack before and it worked well enough. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic tour and video. I've been planning my retirement layout for a few years now and collecting Fastrack along the way, so guess I've put all my "eggs" in the Fastrack basket.
Play some 50s classic piano music. That stuff is pretty distracting. You really prove that lots of Postwar Lionel O Gauge can be built on a 4x8 ! Amazing! Can you make a video just running your trains without talking and that noisy music? Thanks!
I thought I commented on this video before, but I guess I didn't. I live in a mobile home and currently have a 5x11 layout. This video gives me some ideas. Eventually I want to get an outside building and make it into a large train room for something bigger.
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I don't know exactly how many tracks we used in this layout, but I was able to find this track plan, which is very similar design to ours. Hopefully this helps: www.nallhal.top/ProductDetail.aspx?iid=137888434&pr=43.88#
1950 popular music would fit the most to make the tràins like the era when Lionel tràins were made for Christmas ànd when all the toy stores sold them.
So, these roads are made from cork that you could get from Micheals, and then we painted them black to go live it the look of a road. The cork is basically glued to the sides of the Fastrack with some pieces of cardboard underneath so that there is a smoother transition from the plywood top to the track. Very simple, yet it works well.
I got my first train set in 2005 when I was about 8 months old. We started to build the layout when I was 7, so we’ve been building this for about 8 years. It's a lot of fun
What size are your curve tracks that they fit so well together ? I don't think I've ever seen tracks sit so snug up against one another before, nice job.
Great looking layout! Love the town setup, and I know why you have the time limit issue. If you don’t have a “verified“ RUclips account, you cannot upload videos longer than 15 minutes. However all you have to do is authenticate your email address and then you are good to go. You should be able to find more details on RUclips studio online
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. While we didn't really follow a specific track plan, I was able to find this very similar design to ours. Other than the two sets of switches that join the two loops together, it's pretty much the same layout as we have. I hope this helps: www.nallhal.top/ProductDetail.aspx?iid=137888434&pr=43.88
Forgive my intrusion but why didn't you run the train thru the layout? That is a beautiful layout you have there and I am searching for ideas for my 10x12 ft table. Thank for posting this. I would have really loved to see that train run, You really took care in what accessories you put in your layout and I like all of your choices. Thanks again. Take care.
O scale is any train product made to 1/48 the actual size. So a three rail O Gauge locomotive can be O scale if it is made to 1/48. Many high end three rail locomotives made by MTH and Lionel are in fact made to 1/48 scale. It doesn't matter if it's 2 or 3 rail. Gauge simply refers to the space between the rails. So technically 2 rail O scale still uses O gauge track, minus the third rail

That’s exactly what this hobby is about! Having fun and enjoying your trains. Thank you!

Fantastic layout! Packs quite a punch for a 4’ by 8’ layout without jamming too much into it.
Thank you very much!

Hey Kevin, I Got A Bunch Of Fastrack, In Reserve, I Settled With A 4x8 Dont Need The Track, I Plan To Sell .
Just stumbled across this Video, It looks great! Looks like alot of fun, Great job! I LOVE The Legos!!

Note taken. I’ll see if I can get around to making another running session soon
Yeah, I just watched on mute.
Seems like very time I see a Lionel 4x8 layout I get new ideas! Great use of the space!
Thank you very much!
🙂👍
Thanks for sharing
A great use of the space!!
Nice!

Great layout. Nice job.
That's a gorgeous layout
Nice way to make the most of your space!
We’re definitely trying to. It’s not big by any means, but I still think it’s shaping nicely as we continue to add more to it.
Very nice layout 👍🏻 I like 4x8
Layouts. They are easier to maintain than a big layout. My layout is 6x9
Very nice!!
Nice layout.
Really nice layout man!
Thank you!
Really nice job on the layout … I enjoyed the tour.😎
Cool layout.
great layout you got a lot trains in a small space
I love the use of Lego figures.
Thank you! I’m glad you like them
Nice layout
Thank you!
Great job! Keep up the good work.
Great video Matt. Your layout is amazing. Al
Thank you so much! You have a great layout as well!
What were the problems with the fastrack. Invest in a z4000
Great Layout. Could you tell me how many tracks you use in this layout. My space is similar yours. Thanks

@@mattstrains416 The link doesn't work. Server not found.
nice layout!
The phone booth is from the Bill and Ted movies. It was actually a time machine.
4' by 8' is not a lot of room for an O gauge layout. Looks to me like you have done a really good job with the space you have.
Very nice layout thanks for sharing. Dave
Thank you Dave!
Great Job !! i wish you can help me with my set up.
just subbed. thanks .

Very cool video . I am running 2 trains on 4x8 at this time . Your layout looks and runs great .
New subscriber to you today.

3 years later but lets get u to 1k subssss
How to make the roads over the fast track

Sorry but how old were you when you started because I'm 17 and would love to start some thing like this
I got my first train set in 2005 when I was about 8 months old. We started to build the layout when I was 7, so we’ve been building this for about 8 years. It's a lot of fun
Phone booth is from BILL AND TEDS EXCELLENT ADVENTURE
Yes, also a reference to Doctor Who. Both great shows.
I don't like all the asphalt and cars but besides that its good.
What size are your curve tracks that they fit so well together ? I don't think I've ever seen tracks sit so snug up against one another before, nice job.
The entire layout uses Lionel 0-36 curves and switches. It’s the same curve radius that comes with most Lionel starter sets.

Thank you, and I was able to fix the time limit issue. Hence why the video is slightly longer than 15 minutes.
@@mattstrains416 ha, didn’t notice that!
Would love to know the track layout for this setup.

Hey man I have a 4x8 also
Nice layout but the background music was too loud couldn't hear what you were saying? : /
I’ve gotten that a lot in this video. I was still figuring out how to properly add music to videos, I’ve definitely improved on newer videos
Music is distracting (like 70% of RUclips videos).
I’m doing a tour on my channel and my layout is 12 by 5
Awesome, I’ll be sure to check it out
It's not O scale. It's O gauge. O scale is 2 rail DC.

3 rail is not O scale. 2 rail is O scale. 3 rail is O gauge.
Good Luck with fighting that age old tide debate!👏👏👏👏
@@GhostninjaProductions I don't think it's a debate. It simply indicates what type of RR it is.
