I saw this 6 years ago and was impressed then; now in 2023, I am more impressed with how much more relevant it is today.
Anyone else sometimes sit and listen to andreas all day at work ?
I regret not seeing this 4 years ago. Thank you, Andreas.
Had the pleasure of seeing Andreas speak in Seattle in 2018. Honestly, nothing short of a life changing event.
Seriously, this guy could do a comedy show about economics. His talk is so funny and entertaining while still being very clear and informative.
Antonopoulos is quite simply, the best.
Andreas Antonopolous, you deserve our worship.
Apart from his vast knowledge, Andreas is gifted in how he delivers his talk.
A couple of tears ran again. Andreas has the power hidden in the BTC algorithms.
Thanks forever!
This is probably the best talk you've given, and the best talk delivered on this subject by anyone, ever.
Hats off to Andreas for making such complex thing so simple to understand !
Here on 3.3.2024 and this is a must listen for all! Beginners and experienced (good reminders)!!
Thanks a lot Andreas. I´m from Venezuela and I´am living through the bitcoin since a year ago.. like you said, this shit is real
How are things going over there buddy?
@@gr33nhatt3r8 Yoo dude , how are things going there? Put your public adress here pls, i bet even the smallest amounts can help you.. i'll send some spare

@@pepecow235 Not going to happen. I am not going to tie my coins to my RUclips identity. I don't need handouts nor do I need anybody else's bitcoin.

About 12 minutes in, discussing the internet as a free flow of information without censorship….my how things have changed. Excellent content thank you.
Watching for the first time in Dec 23. Though I have seen lots of his video’s. This is the one I will use to show others that are interested. The best.
Thank you Andreas. You have an extraordinary skill, of breaking down the complex with clarity
Every high school student should be viewing this presentation.
- How does money work, mommy ?
- I have not a freaking clue, kid. I think it's something to do with
the allocation of special drawing rights
through the international monetary funds and world bank
in a free floating system of market exchange currencies
that compete through trade balances
across an international spectrum of inflation-adjusted exchange rates
that then could be used to create local debt
that is issued by the treasury
in return for currency that is printed by the central bank
distributed to the banks that leverage it
through a system of partial reserve leverage of approximately 10 to 1
and distributed into the economy
creating either inflationary of deflationary effects
allowing us all to experience the velocity of trade to the exchange of an abstract token
that represents the promise of future value
depreciated by the rate of inflation
and adjusted for the return on investment.
- So why can't we have more of it mummy ?
it would be difficult for anyone to say that "mommy" was wrong in this case :)
love that bit.
One day you will understand.
If she cooks half the way she talks…what a woman 😂
that is quite the quote right there
Bitcoin GOAT!!! Greatest of all time explanation of Bitcoin
This talk is different! No one has understood the concept better than him
Andreas Your talks are really amazing. Explaining complicated concepts in a simple fashion. You're presentation skills are excellent, never once using any flashcards or notes. Giving this continuesly flowing indepth masterpiece of a talk.
bitcoin is not a revolutional money, bitcoin is the money of the revolutionary. those who are against the system. This guy is one of them. I'm one of them. how about you.
all revolutions end up turning into the next 'system'... bitcoin is currency, it lives on the internet. it is not part of an external 'system'. It is its own system with its own pro's and con's.
Including terrorists. You know how many attacks have been prevented via financial tracking. Do you know how many cells have been located and disrupted due to the tracking of funding to terrorists? This global currency under anonymity will be the perfect breeding ground for terrorists and criminals all over the world. Lets be careful what we wish for.
governments are the terrorists
Nah I like being a slave. It's fun. I dont have to think much and can be an idiot and die.
Bar D it’s track able, how do you thinks the FBI found the Silk Road founder. Anyone can see a bitcoin transaction. All you have to do is down load the bitcoin protocol. Now Monero that’s untraceable but not bitcoin it’s very traceable.
I come back to watch this video every few weeks. It is so good and any time I feel like I'm losing myself to market hysteria or getting discouraged by decisions our lawmakers are making this cheers me up. Thank you Andreas!
Andreas is the Carl Sagan of crypto :D
go try to demonstrate the curvature of the earth and you will see the HUGE problem with the fact that _you are exactly right_ ;)
This is the third time I've watched this video. Each time it inspires me. Brilliant!
Thank you Godfather of Bitcoin: Andreas.
Thank you Andreas. From the bottom of our hearts. The way you walk us through such complex and deep topics and the passion with which you transmit them is unmatched. I would have loved to be there years ago at one of these conferences. Pure (digital) gold
Long live Bitcoin and its Revolution.
I recommend this video to anyone who is trying to understand where Bitcoin gets its value from.
I love listening to you Andreas. You are amazing explaining Bitcoin stuff. Thank you from Colombia.
Thank you Andreas. I always look forward to sharing your videos with friends and family.
When ever I watch Andreas's videos I look at how many views there are and how little likes have been given. Then I realized that after every video I was so sucked in I forget to "smash the like button". That stops today. Thank you for all the great knowledge sir
just finished to translate all this talk into hebrew, the country which i live in (israel) is so behind with about all this Internet of money idea ! I hope RUclips will publish my translation soon enough. I hope it will make this idea to be spread over another "ordinary" millions of "hebrew talkers" around the world and espacially in Israel. really great work Andreas ! when it comes to describe what is all about with the "internet of money" concept you are the best !
the invention is flawless, ethical and clear making it easy for a speaker with the same characteristic to explain it with joy ,
well done andreas. Logically It is happening, it will adjust humanity and provide them growth and continuity like any previous systems , but finally peer to peer where adventure and creativity are not layered and the sweat is not traded.

Bar D: gov shill?
@@bard1250 its just like cash in the old days 😉
@@bard1250 and yet, terrorism, trafficking, and organised crime exist all over the world using the dollar, euro, sterling etc.
Bitcoin is a neutral technology, the fact that criminals can use it is a good thing because it means it doesn't discriminate. Anybody can use Bitcoin, whether you agree with their use or not.
Besides, Bitcoin isn't anonymous, it's pseudonymous, and the entire transaction history is open to view by anyone. If anything it will make it more difficult for the biggest financial criminals to conduct business.
The best EDUCATOR of CRYPTO EVER! I SALUTE YOU! :)
Thanks for sharing, nice to see a long video again :)
Amazing concepts, thank you for explaining so clearly . Surely made me understand it better.

Oh boy, how I wish I had seen this and started studying BTC earlier...
Your still early.
14:07 "Get ready for a world in which 6-year-olds have Bitcoin accounts and Bitcoin wallets" Funny this should come up. I was actually just thinking about sending my 6-year-old Bitcoin over Facetime tomorrow night. Most of those nouns did not even exist a decade ago.
Nice job on this talk. Great job framing the discussion.
Master piece. Thank you so much Andreas, thank you!
Grande "cruzada pela educação" Andreas. Abraço! PEDRO TOMÉ, obrigado pelas legendas.

Andreas,
You should demand better audio recording. Listen to the difference between your best videos. Maybe you should travel with your own recording sound system. Best! keep it up.
Great talk! what a joy to listen.
I can watch this man over and over and over again...
Wow,I would have loved to see him talk in person. I was actually in india in that time.
Few people elucidate the illusion of money concept better than Andreas.
yes but...
who is in charge?
Wow BTC has ETFs now!! Unbelievable -- Andreas is a legend.
You are my favorite! I always feel inspired after watching your videos.
Thank you Mr. Antonopoulos🙏
Excellent as always! Thank you for your great work.
A beautiful speech🎉
What an inspiration !! Thank you Andreas!!!
50% savings depreciation in 10 years would require an annual inflation rate of 7% but the general point is good.
Yup. A 2% rate is about 25% in 10 years.
50% loss in 18 years. At 2% inflation prices would double in 36 years.
Yes. 0.98^10 = 0.817 != 0.5
His statement now doesn't seem so far-fetched after all the quantitive easing that's been going on these last couple of years!
I dont know how you do it. But every next video i watch still impresses me.
Best talk yet
Thanks for sharing I love your analogies... excellent!
I'm really thankful.
Thank you so much Andreas!
great talk as always, well done

Thanks Andreas! Another very insightful talk!
Incredibly relevant still, in many ways even more-so and as I type this another US Bank failed over this weekend.
I imagine this is what the first disciples of Christ felt like when they first heard him speak! I don't believe in Bitcoin, I believe in Andreas.

Great keynote Andreas, as always.

everytime i watch one of his videos i end up buying 0.01 BTC LOOLLL. i should have bought full BTCs when it was at 200 $/BTC a piece ahah(or earlier) , i bought another very cheap crypto back then that anyway gained 1000,s %% in value. This is super awesome !
I'm with @crackbagged @brightback. Enjoyed this very much and shared it several places.
Long well thought out videos are welcomed. This was excellent:)
brilliant!
this guy knows his stuff!
This guy is amazing
Great video, but one point to note is at 06:42. There are one or two corporate third parties and that is those providing (or denying) access to the internet. Bitcoin doesn’t need the internet to work, but it does need the internet to update and validate transactions.
However, they won’t cut people off for the most part because business would lose income, governments would lose tax, and governments would lose some surveillance powers.
Money is a medium of exchange and store of value not the promise of government
Love it!
that explanation of money , love it ! and yes i agree we should be taught everything there is about money at school early on , maybe one day ..
the schools are owned by the state. the state is in hoc to the bankers. the schools will never teach you about money.
A great mind 🙂
It just blew my mind!
