That is a really cool way to do the foot loop, how did I miss this, even though it’s a bit on the bulky side for carrying . but still it’s very useful, I’ve been doing a web single foot loop through the 5-2-3 soft bridge with a garden hose piece and a cable tie at the hitch loops to hold the loop in place , the web tied with a water knot, ..trying to keep my hitch climb srt rope minimalistic as much as possible
Nice way to do a foot loop, I’ve been using the ascender hitch with a foot loop with the JRB CINCH in my two tether system, on the bottom tether, works great, can easily adjust the position of the foot loop as the tree is ascended ( or descended) and the tree diameter decreases (or increases descending) lengthening the tether, thus adjusting the hitch and foot loop up the tether rope… for my foot loop I’ve been using 2 inch webbing through the loops of the ascender hitch in soft bridge mode, with a pad as I put full weight on the loop with one foot as the top cinch and tether are moved either up or down the tree
dear friend, the youtube translation is very bad and I can't see clearly how you do it, could you please make a video where this process can be seen more clearly?😬🙏🏻😉👍🏻

Have you considered implicating a bungee or elastic cord to take up the slack? Really liking the jrb and looking forward to the ongoing revisions and updates
It's a good question. I assume you mean for rope storage once I have climbed to my hunting height. I confess that in my videos, i typically focus on the climb and haven't done enough to reiterate that on a hunt, i always take up the rope. I will either drape it in a crotch or whatever i am standing on, and/or form a Saddle Hunter's Hitch with the one end and drape my rope in it. It also serves as a gear hanger. I don't have a use for a bungee just because its something to carry, or lose and whatever i do has to work on trees from 4in to 4ft in diameter. I appreciate the comment and we'll leave that in to a future script
@@jrbtc no for use...instead of manually having to take up the slack the foot ascender could be pulled up with a bungee cord. Ill see if i can find a video showing what I mean
I was wondering about using the JRB Ascender Hitch in this fashion and if it is as good as the JRB Garda Hitch? I'm looking forward to finding out. Thank you for putting so much effort into this and publishing it for everyone in this fashion.
They are very different: 1.Garda is easily affixed and removed; JRBAH is not. 2. Break under load: Garda is basically impossible. JRBAH is the easiest thing to break. 3. Two ropes: Garda accepts two or one rope, JRBAH doesn't accept 2 (necessary for JRB doubled rope climbing). 4. We can drop or lose or forget a Garda. Not so with JRBAH. 5. Wear and tear. A Garda will last virtually forever. This takes a lot of friction and will need replacement. 6. Ability to use in a "best friend" system, providing redundancy for your upper friction hitches: advantage to the Garda. In summary, I feel that the Garda is still the best option for SRT or JRB or MRS. But I like it for JRB Hitch Climbing. In hitch climbing, when your pelvis is 3 inches from the trunk at the top of your move, there's just not enough space to comfortably remove a Garda from one side and then switch to the other side. And ya could drop it. It's better to have something permanently on the Rope. I built this for hitch climbing. But i also have other plans for it.
