The ending of Rhythm Heaven Wii's 10th remix comes to mind. The song ends, and then it literally fades to black before suddenly coming back with like three more notes.

I bought DJ Max Respect the other week, so I know this feeling all too well... Overall the game (and series in general) is pretty nice about things like this, but in a few of the songs you're just sure you've reached the climax of the song, you feel like you can finally relax, and then the game just goes "lol, just kidding, here comes the last part that contains 300 notes and it's actually the hardest part of the song".
