    As a bodybuilder eggs were one of my sources for protein. I used to eat 3 and half dozens of eggs a day. My cholesterol was 100, and I weight 250 LBS, trained for about 2 to 3 hours every day. This was back in the 90. Today I am 55, and I don't train like I used to but I am still training and eat 9 eggs every day. I have a blood and urine test every 4 months and the last results, as usual, were great, my cholesterol is 140, HDL 47, LDL 70, triglycerides 57. I eat about 4 to 5000 calories of food a day and I can guarantee eggs never got me sick, it helped me to build a lot of muscle.

      The thing is though is that the research on cholesterol is terrible. The real fact about cholesterol is your body by default without consuming cholesterol already makes roughly 3000 mg of cholesterol a day. That's a whopping 15 eggs worth. When you consume cholesterol, your body actually produces LESS in order to compensate from your dietary intake of it. That is because the human body is always trying to achieve homeostasis. These "Doctors" never mentioned this sadly. Or don't know about it. In essence you can eat eggs all day everyday without having any negative health impact on your health whatsoever. YES that's correct, don't fear eggs. Also cooking eating the raw eggs jolts your ability to take in its choline content. But yet again when you consume choline your body needs to achieve homeostasis. So just like cholesterol, you don't need to worry to much about it. This makes since because my great grandparents are still alive and almost 100 years old. They eat eggs literally everyday, and have been doing so since their teens. Eggs are a natural god-given food. And god didn't create food to kill us.

    -Choline is needed for brain function, liver function and it's especially necessary for pregnant women and growing children (if they *don't* want to end up with subpar IQ, that is...)
    -The studies claiming Eggs lead to diabetes are based on garbage, questionnaire based "observational" studies. These studies are awfully susceptible to confounding factors like people who tend to eat tons of eggs are people who tend to ignore dietary advice. The meta analysis claiming eggs are linked to diabetes *found that the type of person who eats a ton of eggs is the type of person who smokes, drinks more alcohol, doesn't exercise and eat the most calories.* So was it the eggs or all the other crap?

      @Glen M I'd say you're pretty accurate! My grandparents on both sides of my family ate meat their entire lives and when they passed away, they died in their 90's. And yes, their diet included eggs. My grandparents diet had a lot of variety. They ate fruits, veggies, chicken and beef. But very very little pork.
      In my world, just because someone eats meat doesn't mean they'll die early. It also doesn't mean being vegan will make you live longer.
      Another factor is I think people forget about sometimes is genetics

    Another confound could be whether choline interacts with other compounds, or whether people who tend to eat lots of eggs also tend to eat other products like cured bacon. Nutrition is so ridiculously complicated. Your best bet is to just try different things and ultimately go with what makes you feel better (mood, energy levels). Different people have adapted their bodies to process things differently, and people have different lifestyles. You really have to find what works for you. A good rule of thumb is to avoid processed foods, stick to whole foods, and get a variety of food groups. Also, as americans we all need to cut the sugar.

Years later I watch one of these talk shows that says that it's okay to eat eggs.

    Honestly what I have read from doing my own research is, the whole cholesterol thing is important to be aware of, because most of the time the people that are negatively affected by it, are from strictly genetic reasons.. now.. foods carry cholesterol as well as ones body creates its own sources.. what I have read is that the stuff to really be concerned with is how much your own body is creating, more so than the cholesterol content of the food itself, the damage is mostly coming from the amount of cholesterol your body is creating, now what this boils down to, to me? Well... I think personally they just don't have any clear answer to be honest, it's like various other aspects of the body that doctor's haven't been able to really figure out, various stomach ailments or psychological issues etc..

    Let get unconfused: Choline is as much a vitamin as vitamin D; both can be made in our bodies, but both are made in too small amounts. Both are necessary for our health and survival. The problems start when you assimilate too much Choline and the rate of assimilation depends on genetics. I stick with no more than 6 eggs a week. Since eggs are in some products, my upper limit is 5 hole eggs, and usually I do eat about 2-3 eggs a week.

    You shouldn't have to eat something in moderation if it was really healthy for you. Period

      Bananas are really healthy, but you can't eat 50 a day and not work out like a race horse without getting chunky, hence all these people getting fat on the Freelee diet since they don't work out and expect the magic of 50 bananas to slim them down.

    • @Donadzea
      @Donadzea 6 лет назад +2

      How could you eat 50 bananas a day if you are not a pig? And the study says 2,5 eggs in a week increases your prostate cancer chance by 80%. 3 eggs in a week vs 350 bananas, can you see the difference?

      Wrong, Bean Bean. Even drinking too much WATER can kill you. It's called water intoxication, or water poisoning. Fatally disrupts your brain function because your electrolytes' normal balance is disrupted. Heart stoppage. Game over.

    I highly encourage those who doubt eggs, not to eat them but keep eating leafy greens instead - so more eggs remain for us who do not not care and just love eggs anyway.

    There is no one size fits all diet, some people are/aren't gluten intolerant, some are/aren't lactose intolerant , some may become or not deficient going vegan , some my function better on low-fat diet some on keto. You see different people with different health history and predisposition to different illnesses, metabolism plays a role as well. You get my point.
