i managed to improve it by underclock, undervolt, putting ptm7950 and custom fan curve. If you game on fhd and cap fps in most games you can barely hear anything, during idle fans are off. Its around 60-70 C during games. But yea while you game on 4k max settings/performance, it's a jet engine
Hey very good video and impressive presentation of this laptop. I ordered it 4 days ago and it's still on track. I want to ask I am currently with a Predator Helios 500 which is equipped with G-Sing. Will there be a noticeable difference, with the screen itself and the flat scrolling of objects, as well as for you, how do you feel about the screen and will it be a down upgrade, being a screen rather than a performance thing? Thank you!
@@gergelykiss1142 Hogwarts legacy gets around 70 FPS with 4070 desktop GPU at ultra 1440P no upscaling while this laptop fetches around 40 fps at the same settings
@@frosty1631 Do you have the exact same laptop? MSI GP? Why do you think this laptop is performing so low? Actually I am confused whether I should buy a 4090 or a 4080?
Does anybody have it with the 1440p matte display (thats the only thing that puts me off (not sure why they decided for a matte display for a gaming laptop)? How is the matte display?
What I don't like is that the laptop 4070 is a 8gb GPU while the 4060 is also a 8gb GPU now (the 60 series used to be 6GB). The 4070 easily runs between 2.2 and 2.5Ghz but medium Ray Trace settings for Cyberpunk @1440p (no frame generation) sits between 45 and 55 FPS. So if you're looking to buy something, just know that the 4070 isn't THAT much better than a 4060.
i want tobuy the vector 14 hx i just now knew it dosnt have gsync? it is a problem and does it have any technology like it? im confused will my game tear
i have a similar laptop and if u want to play very silent it is possible, BUT then u need to use FG and play on 1080p but with ultra on all these games. it will be pretty silent. If u want to game while ur not home the only other solution i can see is a small screen and cabel and putting the laptop farther away. but as said with 1080p its a lot silenter
@@TechGuyBeau I don't have a 4080 laptop. In this video, Hogwarts Legacy got around 40 fps at 1440P ultra no upscaling. Other than that the performance is good
Your laptop's gpu and cpu isn't pulling enough power. According to msi's website that 4080 should be 175 watts or close to it, and the cpu should be 55 watts. If your on extreme performance mode and that's all your getting especially with how low the temps are on your unit than I would open a ticket with msi and see if there is something wrong with your unit.
You don’t always pull max wattages. Often super high watts are a “boost” situation. Also, if you run on ai cooling it won’t rip unless it needs to. Why run everything at absolute max, fans going ballistic, and system overheating if you don’t need to
@@beau-urnsWrong. Modern laptops especially Lenov9 allows you to delete vantage and install Legion tool kit to get rid of dynamic boost to always have full power to GPU and CPU.
Thanks man for uploading games benchmarks, appreciate it 🎉
jesus the fan noise is insane. This is the only issue with these laptops. Still amazing to see what a laptop can do nowadays

Nah you won’t get tearing. You can always use vsync in GeForce settings anyways

So 4080 in a laptop is more likely 3080 in a desktop but with more video memory.
Yeah or a 4070 in desktop just a bit faster

I agree. I think bang for the buck the 4060 is king this year. It’s why iv been reviewing so many 4060 laptops

My god the fan sure is loud, are you set to max high perf for the fan?
On max it’s loud. On balanced it’s not too bad. The microphone always exaggerates fan noise
You never used frame gen which would push the fps a little further.
I don’t like frame Gen. many people don’t. More FPS isn’t worth latency and smearing

They are loud lol.
But don’t put it on performance mode. The balanced mode is much quieter
