Traditional carbonara recipe | How to cook a classic carbonara and pasta from scratch

Great carbonara is a doddle to make and most people don’t realise it but a traditional carbonara isn’t made with cream, just pasta, pancetta, eggs, cheese and black pepper.
And because carbonara is a fairly straightforward dish and I have the time, I’m going to put in a little bit of extra effort and make my own pasta too.
Ingredients
3 eggs
270g Tipo ‘00’ pasta four
100g pancetta
50g pecorino cheese
2 eggs
Black pepper
