I own the NuX's Steel Singer and the Plexi-Crunch. Loved this demo, I might have to add this one to my pedal board. I have seen the Recto demoed elsewhere and it did not not sound that good. It sounds beastly here!
Maaan. I remember watching your videos on the Helix being plugged into the katana as an frfr like speaker and it helped me a lot make my decision. Now watching you demo this pedalal makes me consider getting it instead of the Nux brownie. They both sound amazing.
I definitely would have considered getting this one in place of the plexi crunch, only it isn't rectified tone I've been searching for. That is something which is easily and frequently served up in every modelling/multi effects unit on the market. When you dialed back the levels in the middle of the video, it not only reminded me of the artists you mentioned but also the first person I was conscious of that plugged into a Mesa Boogie amp (with a cab from Hiwatt), and that was Tommy Shaw.

Thanx! Have you tried the pedal on an actual pedalboard of yours? The thing is that almost any pedal can sound great between the guitar and the amp, but when placed among other pedals in the chain can have a drastic change in the way it responds, if it hums or not, etc.
I just added one to my board, I’m finding it super muddy through my orange, tube screamer lightens it up a bit, I’ve been limited as to how loud I can play it also, I feel my amp needs to be cranked a bit more to get a better tone through an already dark sounding cab
I think it sounds a bit like Gary Moore's tone (which, ironically, is Les Paul/Marshall, as I recall), so I do like the versatility of that one. Good crunch for the '90s sound, too. I noticed you had the Steel Singer on your pedal board in a more recent video; did you decide to make that one permanent?
This actually sounds kinda Recto-ish. The distortion character itself is not spot on, but for a simple pedal like this it's really good. Probably better for blues and rock than for tight metal, but maybe it can tighten up with a drive in front.
do you use any pedal on before or after the this recto dist ? coz it sounds like boosted by other pedal, I mean it doesn't sound like the nux recto alone in this video
Before watching this review l thought this pedal is not for me!😮. Wrong!.. after your superb playing and how you would use this pedal yourself means l will have all three Nux reissues... Intrigued when you mentioned you would keep this pedal on all the time... Just wanted to know what you currently have on your pedal board doing this job? Nux have just released the MG30 multi FX hope they send this for you to review be interested to see what you think!☺
I m thinking about buying this one, i mainly play thrash metal songs, is this the best option? As in i cant afford anything expensive 😅... I had NUX PLEXI CRUNCH it was great i really loved the sound... But i broke it... Anyways, is Recto good for thrash metal?

I have a fulltone OCD that stays on, and an ep booster that is always on.
I feel like people judge a pedal by what it's supposed to be emulating without giving it a shot. I was surprised by this one.
